You get the tools and it takes moments to change. Just remember to fully charge and then drain the battery a few times to get max performance. It definitely lasts longer than the original battery. If I need to will definitely get another one.

My new 3dsXL finally wouldn't turn on. After a thousand hours and near 10 years it finally failed. Within minutes this battery was in and charging. Working as identical to OEM and I can't be happier. Extra capacity or changes to a nonOEM are unnoticed by me so far. It doesn't take long to charge and keeps all day.

Nearly identical to the OEM battery. Powered up immediately, charged flawlessly, and showed no issue with holding a charge/battery life. At this price, it's easy to recommend this part!

This battery fit my new 3DS XL perfectly and it works great. When I powered on my 3DS it was showing full bars right out of the  box. I then plugged in the 3DS and it shows it was charging for a few  hours even though it was showing full. It lasts longer than another 3rd party replacement battery I  ordered that would give almost no warning before it went dead. This one doesn't have that problem, but with the other one that  had less milliamp hours the 3DS LED's would flash indicating low battery  and then it would just die a few seconds after giving me almost no time to  plug it in before  it died and I lost my progress in the game I was playing. I am much happier with this extended life battery so far so I would  recommend this one over the standard or lower capacity ones. The 3DS really is a great system with a nice library of games and a really unique screen and I am glad to be able to keep it alive.

Battery came shipped in a thin cardboard box barely larger then the battery itself, with the screwdriver shoved inside with it (Not the best idea, but at least it didn't get lost). In terms of function, it operates just like a normal battery would be expected to. No short-circuiting or random dips in voltage (so far). Charging takes a bit longer then the OEM battery, which would be expected with the higher capacity, right? Well, after following the suggested charge/drain directions, I decided to run a comparison test. Here are my results: High Usage Test - Pokemon Omega Ruby, Battle Scene. Battery Saver Off, 3D Off, Sound Off. Charge times have console completely turned off and plugged into OEM Charging Cable. KOOAQQ 3200 mAh - 2.5 hours charge time / 5 hours "play" time OEM 1750 mAh - 2 hours charge time / 3.5 hours "play" time Results indicate that, though the battery is advertised at roughly a 80% increased capacity, it only provides a 50% increase in reality. Not a huge shocker, really. For now, I'll be assuming the capacity is closer to 2400-2600 and is at least still an upgrade. Charge time is only 20% longer, though, which is nice. If I experience any issues, or the battery suddenly lasts longer after a few discharges, I'll update this review.

I ordered this New 3DS XL Replacement battery for review, as my current battery is starting to loose charge after just an hour of use. This kit comes with everything needed to replace the battery... except for a stylus (which is used as a wedge to open the case once unscrewed) in case you lost your stylus. There is nothing to this job, compared to other versions of the system, it's easy to complete without a guide. The only difference between this product and the original battery is the Nintendo logo, as this is not an official battery. However this battery restores the 4.5 hours of average power usage for the system and probably last 7 years like the original battery before replacement is needed again.

Like many, I got this because there were battery issues on my 3DS. This battery replacement for the NEW Nintendo 3DS (didn't test with other versions) just works. It significantly extends my playtime between charges, which is awesome for long gaming sessions. I like full brightness, so the battery drains when I play. Installation is a breeze, and the battery life improvement is noticeable right away. The only downside is that it's a bit heavier than the standard old battery, but the extra juice it provides makes it worth it. Overall, a solid upgrade for me.

This seems to be a great replacement for my now aging 3DS. I wanted to see if I could get better battery life out of my unit since this one seems to be draining quicker with the original battery. This was fairly easy to open up and swap out since they give you the little screwdriver to make this process even simpler. I had no problem getting this installed and so far I think I'm getting really good battery life. It charged up just fine and I don't see any issues with this. I would buy this again

Extremely easy to install. Plug n Play style. Tested over a course of a week, and can denote that the battery life is MUCH better then what I had with the original one over the years. Thrilled to be able to play this again for long hours without needing a charge!

Got this replacement battery for my son's Nintendo switch 3DS. Fit just perfectly and started right up. No issues at all. I'll find out on the actual battery life soon. So far, we're loving it! Great product!!
