I'm in a boarding and lodging place with no way to get my own wifi and the signal in my unit before getting this was one bar if I was lucky. After getting this and putting it in the hallway it boosted it to full signal on this side of the building. I'm very happy with this product.

It’s small and unobtrusive, yet stylish. Setup was a breeze, with clear instructions. This is for our sunroom, that sticks out the back of the house, and has poor WiFi connectivity. With this extender we have all the connectivity we need!

This is a Cat7 Network Coupler. It joins two RJ45 cables to make a longer cable. I tested it on my home network, and on this gigabit network the speeds attained were the maximum possible. Being Cat7, it should be capable for 10Gbps, but I don't have a device with which to test this. There is a minor pulling-away of the plastic sheath from one side, but it doesn't affect the function. I also note what another reviewer stated, which is that the shielding is not continuous between the two sides - I confirm this. I don't know whether a continuous shielding is part of the Cat7 specifications - probably yes, but for my uses, it didn't matter. At the current list price of £3.99, it is good value for money.

The extender feels well made, the ethernet cables connect firmly, but were slightly stiff to disconnect. This is a useful item to have in your network toolbox. It can easily be used to create a longer cable when required from two shorter ones. I find it particularly useful when performing maintenance. I like to keep my cables as short as possible, this is great to temporarily extend the cable if you need to pull the equipment out from its usual location.
- Maguire-Rafferty2024-04-30Decent Network Extender, but with no screening continuity.
There's not a great deal to report upon for an item like this, it either works or it doesn't. Using a standard portable network tester I can confirm that whilst the usual RJ45 eight pins are connected properly, the through screening is broken. So if you're connecting CAT 7 SFTP cables it might be worth bearing in mind there will be no continuity to the screening. The listing shows a "Full Metal Sheilding" assembley (photograph three on listing.) This is incorrect as my network tester confirmed no continuity of screening. Dissection also confirmed this (see images.) For all other network cables with UTP construction the coupler will work perfectly. Good, well made connector
- Customer Review2024-05-01Simple RJ45 Ethernet extender/joiner
At the time of this review there was no price listed for this item, therefore I have only given it a 4 star rating. I have seen a few of these recently and they are all around the 3-4 pound mark. Ideal if you have a longer distance to cover than youer RJ45 cables, simply plug your shorter cables in to the extender and you have a longer cable. There should be minimal signal loss.
