Bought it to convert our physical docs like tax returns into digital ones (yay minimalism!) and it worked great! Was even able to scan thicker files and things like birthday cards too. Was really easy to get it connected and the software installed on my desktop. Image quality was good, and I loved the speed and portability.

Compact and easy to use. Works well and connects easily to my HP laptop with USB. The model I got was not independently powered or WiFi. Would recommend upgrading to that if you’re going to use this a lot. Otherwise for casual use this works. Text is clear and it does color pics as well. Only complaint is the paper does not scan in completely straight there is a little black on one corner. Only reason it’s four stars instead of five.

This sucker was sorta difficult installing the program but after that it is simple to use. Idk what people are talking about on how the machine doesn’t even suck in the paper. But for me I had no issue. The machine takes the paper and scans it precisely. Lastly this is a great product for the money and portability.

I bought this to replace an old Canon scanner that developed a software glitch. Once the easy software download was complete the Epson was good to go. You just feed the item or items to be scanned into the slot and in about 2 seconds the item is scanned. You’re then given an easy to use menu of options on your computer of what to do with your scan(s). The unit has a very small footprint and is very lightweight and reasonably priced. All told an excellent piece of equipment for basic home use. I just purchased it so I can’t speak to its durability.

This outperforms my old scanner. It's tiny, but it scans fast. I thought I had a problem, so I called tech support. The problem was actually an adjustment on my printer (my fault), but when I contacted tech support, they helped me immediately with no endless waiting and phone trees, etc. So not only is this an amazingly flawless product, their tech support is outstanding and prompt.

Like others, I found a mountain of photos after my mother died. Many old family pictures that I couldn't just discard but took up a lot of room. I bought this to scan and save those photos to a smaller package. Works well for the purpose. For color photos this unit is great. It's fast, easy to use, portable. Software has very basic controls for adjusting image quality. One big caveat, it does NOT work on old, glossy, black and white photos. Hard to explain the effect but the image itself is only black and white with no grayscale so everything is washed out. Having to use an old, slow, flatbed scanner for these. Overall I'm happy with my purchase. Pretty good value for what it offers.

Produces really nice digitizations of my physical documents. It's especially good with long pieces of paper (like receipts) and big scans (I've made 200+ page pdfs with this), and the companion software lets you crop and rearrange the pages of your scan. Rarely has issues with feeding paper, but when it does it's because the paper has a big crease. Just hold the paper straight and it will be fine. File sizes are also RIDICULOUSLY SMALL. 20-50 kilobytes per page, absolutely amazing. My old scans that used my phone's camera were about 10x-100x larger in file size. Only downsides are that it's very bad at scanning faint marks or pencil marks. changing contrast settings in the software does absolutely nothing. You might need to manually annotate the PDFs/PNGs afterward if you want to keep the information readable. Doesn't work with any book-style documents, obviously. No-go for things like passports. It's not too bad with glossy documents like ID cards, the color is a bit too saturated for my taste, but it's readable enough. Again, the software settings do nothing to change the scans.
- Kinu Tofu2024-03-12Easy but hard to get a straight scan
The product is great for it's price, portable with it's small profile and very easy to use with the scanning software. You just have the set the document, press the scan button and it'll automatically startup the software and begin scanning the document. Only thing I have to complain about is how depending on the paper material, or the angle you put it in, it's hard to get a straight scan aligned. They do have options to tilt and crop within the software so you can adjust it but I do wish the scan just came out straight.
- DMS - NYC2024-06-30Fix Scanner Problems
This is a great scanner for going paperless on modest volume. I read in the reviews that some units have died. My has on occasion. Two fixes. First spent an hour on the phone with Epson and finally they gave me the following solution. Go to the Windows Search and type Services and scroll down to Windows Image Acquistion. Stop and then restart. This fixes connectivity problems. Second, don't leave the cable connected to the scanner when not in use and moving it around. The connector is sensitive. If already damaged it will still work if you jiggle it a bit.

When I took this out of the box, I thought 'oh geez...this can't possibly work.' There was a set-up document, and I followed the (easy) steps with no trouble at all. Painless. The scan software bridge that comes with this has to be downloaded from Epson's support website, but it's excellent. I had a few multiple page documents that I was hoping could be taken care of from home, and this little scanner created .pdf documents that I easily and quickly was able to email. I didn't need to manipulate them in Acrobat or anything, but I'm positive they would have been just fine. The quality of the scan was excellent. For the price point, it's a very good deal. Highly recommend!
