The Roku Express is a compact yet powerful streaming device that brings a world of entertainment to your TV. Setup is incredibly simple, just plug it into your TV's HDMI port and connect to the internet. The device supports HD streaming, delivering clear and vibrant picture quality. The remote is straightforward with quick-access buttons for popular streaming services like Netflix and Disney+, plus it includes voice search for easy navigation. Despite its small size, it packs a punch in terms of performance, streaming smoothly without buffering issues. Overall, the Roku Express is an excellent choice for anyone looking to upgrade their TV with a hassle-free streaming experience.

I bought this for the TV in the family room I just redid. It works great, it was easy to set up, and it is really fast.. It was a great price for the product.

At first, I had trouble with the device being stuck in update mode. It would take me to the welcome screen, then to set up my WiFi, then it would say it would update and restart automatically. Once it would finish updating, it would do the steps listed above all over again. I reset the device and unplugged and plugged it back in, and it still was stuck in the loop. I switched to a different hdmi port and plugged the power cable into the wall rather than the tv like I had it. Once it went through the steps and updated, it took me to the screen to log into my Roku account. After getting that worked out, it was very easy and simple to set up. It works great and the picture is just like my other Roku TVs. Another thing, when I was connecting to my WiFi, it didn’t show our 5g WiFi, just the 2.4GHz. No biggie for me, but just wanted to say something in case someone else was having the same issue.
- S. Erickson2024-06-28Very good interface and great streaming
I had my first Roku unit back when they first came out. I stopped using them when Roku uninstalled one of my apps without my permission. I changed over to the fire devices. Lately, though, the apps on my fire devices were slow to load, and I couldn't get a solid stream out of them. My brother suggested I try the latest Roku devices. I bought one of these, and I love it. The interface is very good. It has large icons that I can see from far away. The apps I have for streaming (BritBox, Acorn, DryBar Comedy, and others) load very quickly, and I have not had any streaming issues with the apps. I've replaced the fire device on my main TV with this. I replaced a very old TV in the guest room with a Roku TV. So for now, I'm defintely a Roku fan again.
- Taxton2024-06-21An Amazing Little Device
I was worried about finally getting rid of cable, but this amazing device has completely alleviated all of my concerns. Now, I just wish I had axed the cable years ago. Setup was a breeze. It took all of 10 minutes to connect to WiFi, login to my streaming services and add a couple of additional apps for local news and free TV. It is a tiny, but mighty device and the value for the price cannot be beat.
- Adam Abdou-Gustavson2024-05-31Affordable Streaming with Great Performance
I recently added the Roku Express to my home entertainment setup, and it's been a solid addition. It offers a lot of value for its price point, though there are a few minor areas for improvement. Pros: Easy Setup: The setup process was quick and straightforward. The instructions were clear, and I had it up and running in no time. User-Friendly Interface: The Roku interface is intuitive and easy to navigate. Finding and installing apps like Netflix, Hulu, and Disney+ is a breeze. Content Selection: Roku offers a vast selection of streaming channels, ensuring that there’s always something to watch. The free Roku Channel also provides a good selection of movies and TV shows. Performance: The streaming quality is excellent. Videos load quickly, and I haven’t experienced any buffering issues, even with HD content. Affordability: The Roku Express is one of the most affordable streaming devices on the market, offering great value for the price. Cons: Remote Control: The included remote is basic and lacks some advanced features found in higher-end models. It also doesn’t have volume control or a power button for the TV, which would have been convenient. No Voice Search: Unlike more expensive Roku models, the Express lacks voice search capability, making it a bit more cumbersome to search for content. Limited Advanced Features: The Roku Express is a great entry-level device, but it lacks some advanced features like 4K streaming and enhanced wireless performance, which are available in higher-end Roku models. Overall, the Roku Express is an excellent choice for anyone looking to add streaming capabilities to their TV without breaking the bank. It offers reliable performance, a wide range of content, and an easy-to-use interface. While it lacks some of the bells and whistles of more expensive models, it delivers great value for its price.
- Riley G2024-06-28Works great!!
My Amazon fire stick stopped working after a few years, so I wanted to switch and try Roku. It was SO easy to set up. My fiancé has a Roku and he signed in with his Roku account, and it automatically signed into peacock, Netflix, Disney plus etc. It was so nice to not have to reenter emails into each streaming service. Also, the little Roku device is so cute and it has a cute little sticker thing to help it stay on the entertainment center. AND, it comes with a battery for the remote. That was great.
- h. ahn2024-05-09Easy to use and works great.
You buy this if you’re tired of overpaying for cable service and don’t need any fancy functions. I just wanted to use my WiFi and get TV service and use apps fast. Did not want anything fancy. , I hooked this up to a LED TV purchased over 5 years ago using a HDMI port. Was easy to install and the hardware/software worked without any issues straight out of the box. . The Roku unit is small and you can attach to your TV or the console/furniture using double sided sticker that is supplied. . Remote Control is very basic and straight forward. You use the Roku remote for Roku functions and you use your TV remote for your TV. The supplied remote is not programmable and is not universal. This was intended, because I did not want a fancy remote control and was not sure if any remote would support my older TV. . NOTE: an outlet plug is needed that connects with the USB power cord which is supplied.
- Shelby Haiflich2024-06-28Fire stick ended up in the donate pile.
We originally bought a fire stick and hated it, it was junk. Went back to using a Roku and seriously couldn’t be happier. I can link my headphones to the app when the kids are asleep, it supports airplay, setup took minutes, remote is just large enough to not lose but not so large you feel like you’re in the 90s. The remote has never unsynced, the app is streamlined and I can turn the tv off from another room when my kids are watching past when I’ve told them to turn it off lol
