Adding backlighting to my TV was the best decision I've made in a while! It has completely transformed the look and feel of my living room. The lights are super easy to install and simply stick onto the back of the TV. Start in the bottom right corner to keep the sensor box hidden and tucked away. They were the perfect length for my 65” TV.

The color and preset scene options are helpful, the app is very easy to use. The hooks and sticky back that comes on the led lights are very poor quality, it will not stick to the back of my 65inch tv. Not sure what to do to make them stay, like the colors but if I can’t get them to stick will need to return.

EDIT: Amending this review to add that the seller reached out and offered me a full refund in response to some of my complaints below, no questions asked. Although I didn't take the refund (the product performs as advertised), I think they deserve a bump for the customer service. Pros: very capable and reliable app (so far), wired connection between strips for easy bends around corners, physical button controller. Cons: app requires an email/password to login, lights get barely brighter than a comparable USB-powered alternative, strip is too long for a 55" TV. I bought these DC-powered lights to replace a USB-powered strip that didn't get nearly bright enough for sufficient bias lighting in my computer room. My first frustration came when I attempted to plan the strip's route across the back of my 55" Sony Bravia 55X90J and immediately realized I would have to double the strip back on itself to keep the excess from peeking out behind the bezels. It's doable, but frustrating--why not make the strip slightly too short for a 65" TV, rather than nearly un-useable on a 55"? Better yet, just make a different SKU for each size? Anyway, my second frustration came when I powered on the lights and saw that: 1) there is no setting even close to pure white--cyan is about as close as you'll get; and 2) the absolute brightest setting is still dimmer than the second-dimmest setting of these random Chinese "MINGER" lights I bought for half the price five years ago: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CVRVPRM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 My final frustration came when I decided to download the app and was forced to create an account just to control the color of an LED light strip. Even still, I could not attain anything even approaching white, and brightness is quite disappointing. All told, for only $30 these will exceed most people's expectations. Just pick a smaller size if you have a 55" TV, and look elsewhere altogether if you want brightness and color accuracy.

I really like these!Easy to figure out and install even for me(lady of 66 years old).Hardest part was moving my 65"tv so that I could get to the back.The sticky tape really sticks well,the "tie downs"popped off within 24 hours but it didn't matter to me as I can't see the back anyway.Not being a technical person,once downloaded on the app its fun and you can have a different color every night.I can even go on my phone to turn it off/on.So worth it!

As someone who is all about the ~ambiance~ and who despises overhead lights, I adore this backlight. ——— PROS ——— - Super easy to apply. Just wipe the back of the TV down with the included wipe, peel the tape off the light strips, and stick onto the edges of your TV. It’s hard to mess up, even if you don’t perfectly position the light strips. You can also re-position them if you need to without losing the stickiness. - The cord is fairly long in case your outlet is far away, but it’s also thin enough that I can bundle it up with a twisty tie and hide it behind my TV. - Will work with a TV even if the back isn’t completely flat. I just ran the strip over a bump out that was on one side and it worked fine. - The lights are bright and vibrant. No dead spots. - The Govee app, which is what you need to customize these, is easy to use and reliable, which can’t be said for other tech gadgets like this that require an app. - There’s about a billion different pre-set light settings, and you can also make custom settings with any color you want and even set each light independently. You can set favorites in the app so it’s easy to find the ones you like. - Works well with my Google Home. All I had to do was add the backlight in the Govee app and then select “works with Google” and search for “Govee” when adding a device in the Google Home app. It stays synced/paired and I don’t have to mess around with it. - Brightness/color can be adjusted both in the app and with voice commands. There’s a button on the cord on the back of the TV to turn it on/off manually too. - Can be set on a schedule with the Google Home app and I think also with the Govee app - I’ve had the backlight on my TV for about a month and so far haven’t had any issues with the lights falling off or coming un-stuck. ——— CONS ——— - May be a little small for bigger TVs. I got the 55-65 inch size, and it was a perfect fit for my 55 inch TV, meaning that the lights ran from one edge of my TV to the next on all sides with no gaps. There is enough cord to cover the corners if your TV is bigger, so technically it will fit a 65 inch TV, but the corners might be a bit darker than the rest. If you want it to be seamless, I’d go with a larger size. The light strip is flexible, so you can bend it a bit to make it fit if it’s too long. - The “sync to music” setting is pretty bad. I can tell that it is actually reacting to the music, but it’s mostly just erratic flashing. ———— Here’s a bonus list of commands that I’ve found work with Google: - Turn on/off the living room TV backlight” (tip: name your backlight something fun in the Govee app if that’s too much of a mouthful) - Make the TV backlight blue (any color works here, even ones like “indigo” or “light pink”) - Make the TV backlight candlelight (gently flickers shades of orange/red) - Set the TV backlight brightness to 20% (or whatever % you want) - Make it spooky in here (flashes lights purple/green/orange with spooky music) - Turn up the love (flashes lights pink/red with romantic sax music) - I believe there’s others as well but those are the ones I’ve found work ——— Overall I’m really happy with this light and glad I bought it instead of some of the pricier ones I was looking at. I’ll update this review if anything changes, but for now I’d definitely recommend it! (BTW: I bought this with my own money, and I wasn’t paid to write this review. I rely heavily on reviews when shopping on here, so I just write these for future need-to-know-everything-before-buying shoppers like me.)

Instalation was a breeze, app to a min to get set up. But in the end looks great and has lots of functions. I have it connected to my Alexa and seems to work well. There are many many colors and modes to choose. I typically just have it on a solid color. This thing gets bright too. I usually keep it at 50% and is perfect for my set up. I have not really had any issues at all.

Amazing lights. Sturdy and a step above the cheapest options out there. can be synced to turn on with Amazon Alexa VERY customizable, down to each individual LED light (brightness & color / blending between the next light) The app has pre-sets, and the ability to save your favorite colors or setups. I have made light backdrops for my sports teams and found the perfect warm light to match with the lamp in the corner too. Awesome purchase if you dont want to go crazy with the top of the line $$$$

Arrived really fast. Light colors are better and brighter than the last “gen” I got from Govee. I’ve been using there products for awhile now from bulbs to led strips and have always been great products with minor things that have been fixed. I used them on my 75in tv and they wrap around great. Connecting to the app has always been super simple and easy. The new update to the app and lights is a lot of fun to play with, with a lot of preset option. My last set from them didn’t have that thick clear gel layer over the top of the strip like these do. It definitely helps protect the leds from any potential damage. Only issue I had with these lights was pulling the paper off the adhesive on the laed strip on the final strip (bottom strip for the tv). it ended up pulling off the sticky adhesive part off the lights and had to quickly try to lay it back on the led lights as straight as I could. It worked but now I have to always check that led area and push the led strip back onto the adhesive that still on the tv as now they start to fall off the back of the tv while the adhesive remains. Kinda of annoying. But that I’m sure isn’t an overall issue rather then my product I got. (Reason for my 4start and not 5) Overall I always highly recommend Govee products. My next purchase I want from them is the camera for the tv.

We have a 70 inch tv and the length of these lights worked just fine. It was very easy to install and set up, and adhered to the tv nicely, even when I had to reapply a few sections to make them straight. The clips also work well to keep them in place if you want some extra security. I already use other Govee products, and adding this one in the app worked seamlessly. The app has been great, and the features and settings for the lights are endless. No issues with performance, brightness is good and it works great with Google home. I could play around with this thing forever with how many settings and customization it has. Overall very happy with it! I'd opt for this brand vs some of the other cheap ones out there, Govee hasn't done me wrong yet!

Overall, these lights are terrific. They light up the living space with vibrant colors and bright effects. The RGBIC feature was something I didn't know I wanted, but now I can't live without. Especially in combination with other Govee lights, these strips bring some amazing ambiance and life to a room. The strips themselves, as others have mentioned, are overall good, but have some flaws. First, the good: I love that the strips are black so they don't clash with the color of the TV. Also the dedicated corner wires make it so you don't have to deal with the confusion on how to twist the strip around corners without breaking them, so that's a big plus. I have a 55in TV and these fit around the back rim perfectly. The major flaw comes in the adhesive. This can really be hit or miss. For example, 3/4's of my strip had good ahesive that has stayed secure for months now. However, out of the package, the last 1/4th of the strip had very little to no adhesive at all and could not hold itself up. Fortunately, Govee rectifies this by including some dedicated mounting brackets, so I was able to use them to finish mounting the strip. It would be better if the mounting brackets were colored black instead of white so the colors don't clash, but functionally they get the job done where the adhesive fails. Despite that, the lights and the many patterns are great. The app itself to control the lights can be finicky, but after taking a few minutes to walk through the app, you'll find the basic functions. I wish that there was a way to slow down some of the light patterns, as some of them are extremely fast moving. Overall, I would highly recommend these lights. They are affordable, versatile, and have a wide variety of features. The adhesive can be hit or miss, but regardless, these lights are terrific.
