This works fine and I like the Lutron quality, but it’s an overly complex button design. Just let me turn it on to the last brightness setting and then give me a dimmer option. This switch needs an explanation to people. The Lutron maestro switches are the best. This and the Suunto are confusing and harder to operate in comparison. It does work though and was the only solution I could find for adding an easy remote switch when my electrician didn’t put any switches where I asked him to.

I've used C by GE (Cync), TP-Link, and wemo. All of them have design flaws, except Lutron. I used 2 Lutron dimmers for about 2 years, and it was great. Then I made a big purchase of 14 additional, I didnt regret it. No smart switch is perfect, but Lutron is as close as it gets. The installation process is about as painless as it goes for smart switches. The footprint/size of the dimmer itself is noticeably smaller compared to TPLink Kasa and GE. I actually have room to spare in my electrical box with the Lutron's, compared to ALL the others, where you're literally packing in the wires as hard as you possibly can push the wires in. This fact in itself, should push you to purchase Lutron. The setup process literally could not be easier. Pairing the remotes with the switch, is literally a click (and hold) of a button. Compare this to GE which makes you go through 9 circles of hell. Dimming performance is very good - but not perfect like GE. And not only that, you can (and should) configure the high's and lows if you have to to reduce flicking/odd issues (no issues with my GE Vintage LED). I did notice with a 1-bulb fixture (incompatible bulb), the "trickle" of electricity makes the bulb just barely glow even when the fixture is off. I can fix this with by installing a compatible bulb. For multi-bulb fixtures where you have "the glow" while the switch is "off": you can also just put 1 compatible bulb with X in-compatible ones, it will solve your issue without needing to buy all new bulbs. Lastly, the remote's performance is SO fast that you'd think it was a hard-wired switch. Remote + Wired is the only "3 way" support option Lutron gives you, but this is only the best implementation i've seen for smart switches. But i'm very confident in their remotes, between the easy pairing process, the performance, and its reported battery life of 7-10 years. Don't waste your time and money on the competition. Just buck up and pay for the Lutron's.

I am in my second old house. Lutron Cassetta works great. The light dimmer switches do not need a neutral wire. The fan control does. We had an electrician install a new ceiling fan and had the neutral wire run at the time so was able to do the fan and light separately. Works great and looks great. Different colors so I wouldn’t have to look too closely.
- Ted Pavlic2020-07-07Fantastic if you do not have a neutral available or want to add additional switches without wiring
The majority of my dimmers in my home are Lutron Caseta dimmers with their proprietary ClearConnect wireless communication protocol. Lutron dimmers and the Pico switches can be paired together without any further smart-home integration. However, they also can be incorporated into most smart-home systems. I have paired them with a

Lutron Caseta Smart Home Dimmer Switches - Happy! I had recently been experiencing flickering with my lights on a random and more regular basis. My research indicated to me that it can be the switches causing this. As a result, I thought I'd look for new switches to see if that would resolve my flickering issues. My research led me to the Lutron Caseta Smart Home Dimmer Switches. So I purchased what was needed for my open area in my house which includes our kitchen, dining space, and family room. In our kitchen, we have 3 light groups. Our main group has 7 ceiling lights with 2 switches. We then have 2 pendant lights over our island with 1 switch. Our 3rd group, we have 1 pendant light over our sink with 1 switch. In our dining area, we have 6 ceiling lights with 3 switches. In our family room area, we have 4 ceiling fan lights with 1 switch. Based on my research, I determined what I needed to purchase to replace my switches noted above. I purchased 5 new switches, 3 remotes with 3 wall plate brackets, plus the smart bridge. The single switches were very simple to install. I then had a case where I had a 3-way switch scenario and a 4-way switch scenario. I worked on the 3-way switch one first - I was bad and failed to mark the wire that was connected to the different color screw when disconnecting the old switch - my failure to follow the directions Lutron provides. :( This resulted in not connecting the wires properly on switch the first time. The lights would come on but I could not turn them off or dim them. After turning the breaker switch back off, I did some research to figure out my problem. This is when I discovered my mistake noted above. I then figured out which wire I should have marked. I then reconnected the wires accordingly to the switch. I then tried it again. This time I had success which allowed me to turn the lights off, dim the lights, and of course turn the lights back on. In my next case with the 4-way switch, I took what I had learned from the 3-way switch mistake I made and applied it for this situation as provided in the instructions by Lutron for a 4-way switch case. This time I took the proper step to mark the necessary wires as noted in the instructions. In following the directions better this time, I had success on my first attempt. :) The remotes replaced switches in a number of cases. I was able to pair those easily with its intended light group/switch. I added the smart bridge to my network, installed the Lutron app, and was able to pair everything in the app to all of my lights that I installed the new switches for. So in addition to using the switches, I am now able to use the app to turn the lights on/off, dim the lights, and creates scenes. Finally, I added the skill needed for Alexa to work with my new light setup. Now, I can just tell Alexa to turn a specific light on/off, dim the light, plus I can have Alexa apply a scene that I have setup. It is very slick. I am very impressed with these light switches. They are very simple to install. It is simple to pair the light switch remotes. It is simple to set up and configure the smart bridge. It is simple to configure to work with Alexa. I give Lutron an A+ for the ease of installing these lights. In doing all of this, my 10-year-old son helped me with all of this, and by the end, he was doing a lot of this by himself with little guidance from me. It was a great learning experience for my son and I. I explained the dangers of electricity and making sure we proceed very cautiously, plus this should never be something he attempts to do on his own. Safety is of the utmost importance in dealing with electricity. I have changed light switches in the past and worked/helped on some remodels, but I am in no way an electrician ... novice with some exposure. In the end, it appears my light flickering has disappeared, at least up to this point. It is early yet - just a few days, but it is very promising. This was the goal of the upgrade to fix the light flickering. I love it so far. Thanks to Lutron for making this all so simple. Additionally, I would like to note that if you are not comfortable with this DIY install, please get help from an electrician. Better safe than sorry.

I use it in Home Theatre. The light switch is on the outside of the room and I got tired of getting up and adjusting the old dimmer switch. This remote works through the wall and I can set it to go to the proper level for watching movies by hitting one button. Easy to operate. Old dimmer would not work properly with LED lights that I switched to from CFL. They would buzz and flutter. This works great. I do wish the remote was about 3 times the size. It is tiny

I had to find a a way to use overhead reading lights controlled by a dimmer switch overhead which was going to be covered by new upholstered wall panel. Rather than relocating the switch and rewiring it. I replaced the switch with this remote controlled switch. It works perfectly even while covered up. Like the customizable favorite setting button also! It's fast and responsive.

I have used these on remodels for customers but first in my own home. Our dining room light should have been wired with a 3-way switch, I even had the wall opened at one point on one side, but where the switch was on the other side, I would have had to tear that wall open too, in order to feed 14 3-wire to it. With this dimmer and Pico dimmer problem solved in 20 minutes if replacing a one gang switch with the dimmer and mounting the remote on a wall by itself. My set up took longer because I changed out 3 toggle switches for all deco switches. So had to install all deco wall plates; one a 2 gang the other a 4gang (Pico) remote. Pricing was good as well Box stores sell this kit in store for the same price, but it does not include the wall bracket. They charge an addition 8 for it. Shipping incredibly fast, ordered it in the box store late afternoon was at my door by 10:54 am. the next day. I COULD NOT find in the included instruction sheets how to pair it. But simple Press and hold off button on wired switch till lights blink, release. Press and hold off button on remote till lights blink 3 times on wired unit, release done. You can add a hub so you can have voice activation I don't need that just glad we now have switches on both sides of the dining room.
- Stinger722024-06-06New to Lutron (but have 24 years of automated light switches) - Learned Some Important Things..
Just recently switch to Lutron product line, and my fan switch install went flawless. I installed this switch on my outdoor lights and learned a lot along the way. Hopefully this will help someone else. - When I installed the switch, I have neutral wires in my gangboxes (house built in 2000), and was shocked that this switch didn't have a neutral connection. You don't need it for this switch, which is great for those that don't have the wire, but it was a first for me as my Zwave switches always needed it - Switch was installed correctly, but had no lights on the switch itself, and while I noticed my outdoor porch lights were showing a dimly lit bulb, hitting the on or off on the switch did nothing. I was convinced initially it was wiring, but lo and behold, the true issue was the bulbs that I installed. I had purchased some cheap no-name brand LED bulbs and they were not dimmable (I think). Upon changing the bulb, the switch showed operational lights, and everything worked fine. In my two fixtures, I initially only changed one, and that was all it took to get it working. I confirmed the same issue when I installed another switch for my 3 deck post lights. Changing a bulb to a dimmable bulb (while I wait for matching replacements) was all I needed to do to get it to work! - Pico remotes are amazing, and can be used for many different things. Love that I don't need hardwired Z-wave accessory switches anymore, and these make it so less crowded in a multi-gangbox! Highly recommend those looking to make the switch from Zwave, WiFi and other lower quality switches. I will say my Zwave installation was flawless in operation, but ultimately got sick of the low quality and frequent failures. Anyone considering a "WiFi" switch should not do so, but I'm not going to gain much in functionality over my Zwave switches, the reliability and Picos are the big pluses.
- Woody Woodford2024-06-22Excellent solution for 3-way lighting without rewiring the room.
I had been concerned that I could not have three-way lighting in my master bedroom, but this is the perfect solution!
