- Rodney2022-03-29Finally a bright white color changing light!
I’ve bought several smart color changing bulbs through the years, but this one puts out the brightest white light of any I’ve tried. LIFX comes in a close second on brightness. The downside of these bulbs is the color part of the light is very, very dim. Don’t plan on lighting the room up with color because these put out more of a dim accent colored light. Think of the old black light screw in bulbs that barely lit the room, this is similar to that brightness and maybe not even that bright. Maybe 10-20w. For those of you new to these type of bulbs most of your color changing bulbs that claim to be 60w equivalent are no where close to that until you bump up to the more expensive bulbs. On average most color changing bulbs that say 60w are closer to 30-40w. This one is the exception for the price range, but again it’s the white that is bright and not so much on colors. I would say this bulb is closer to a true 60w or maybe even a 75w equivalent. It’s bright and easy to set up through the Alexa app. I used the Feit Electric app instead of the other app available people complained about and it was a breeze. All in all it really comes down to which is most important to you, the white light or the color light or both. If it’s a bright white dimmable light with a touch of color to watch movies or set the ambiance, then this bulb is for you. If you’re more interested in color there’s several 60w equivalent bulbs out there that put out a good amount of light for a fairly cheap price. Be sure to go at least 9w if not more. If you’re looking for both bright white light and colors I’d look at LIFX bulbs or something similar as they are well built and have a lot of color options. My last one lasted 2-3yrs with a lot of use! I’m curious to see how long this one lasts. I’ll be sure to update down the road. I should note, these bulbs are considerably bigger than a regular bulb, so globes could be a problem for some light fixtures. All in all, I’d recommend these. You just can’t beat the price for a smart light you can operate by your phone, Alexa or Google.
- ETR2020-06-30A very finicky product but great once it's setup!
Look, these bulbs are great once you get them set up but until then, it can be a bit of a pain and takes a lot of patience. Getting these to connect to WiFi is quite the hassle. I had to add an Access Point for my WiFi as there was about 50% signal where I wanted to install them and they just would not connect to the WiFi. Keep in mind that I do I.T. work as a profession too so chances are that I know what I'm doing and so by adding an access point where I was installing these bulbs, they now work great. With the size radio that is in these bulbs and the somewhat low price of these, that alone might say a lot. After about 15 resets to factory defaults and finally setting these up via access point mode, I can overlook that. As said, once these are setup, they work fantastic. After experiencing the tiring setup process and knowing how to get around it, they really do work great and are very responsive. Plus, you can control these anywhere in the world; just as long as you have an internet connection that is.

The lights were easy to set up, and the app works well. Something like Phillips Hue may have more features, but you're also paying more for it. These are great budget friendly alternatives. My only complaints, and why I can't give five stars, is the Alexa integration. Within the app, I can set effects such as strobe, or have the bulbs change from one color to the next at my desired speed. However, even though I can say things like, "Alexa, set all light to blue." I cannot say, "Alexa, turn on strobe." I emailed Feit about this, hoping I was just using the wrong commands, and they replied saying it wasn't a feature. Also, some smart bulbs out there, including these, have an issue with Alexa routines in terms of setting brightness. The colors tend to not respond. For those who don't know, when setting a routine action, you select smart home, the bulb you want to respond, and are giving three things: turn on/off, set brightness, and change color. At first I would make sure the brightness setting was checked, and set bulb to 100% brightness. However, the bulb will often not respond to the change color step. If I had a routine that set all lights to red, one or more bulbs will not change at all. You have to UNCHECK the brightness setting. A small hassle because if you previously had dimmed lights, you have to take an extra step to adjust the lights to full brightness with another command.
- Godslayer3332022-04-26Pretty decent for what I paid
After recent money troubles, and noticing that smart lights like these have came way down in price, (was $13 per bulb when I purchased) I decided to solve my money issue and brighten my rooms up more buy selling my LIFX bulbs on ebay and replacing them with these feit bulbs. Definitely not as good or cool as LIFX, let me get that right out now. But these were substantially brighter, a 500 lumen difference. The problems with the feit bulbs I have are the color modes are dim AF! Feel kind of ripped off on the color angle, but I never really used that feature much, even with the LIFX bulbs. The tunable white colors are more than adequate. The app is bad, setup is a bit more difficult and buggy than LIFX, and the wifi range per bulb seems far weaker. Biggest issue I have with the feit bulbs is no Samsung Smartthings integration. I used to have buttons on the wall to control my LIFX, now that's a no go. All and all though, I'm very happy with them, especially for that unbeatable price. If they could come up with a better app, better color, and get Smartthings to support them, I'd love it. (strange because Tuya owns Feit and Carro home, but neither work with Smartthings, but Tuya branded devices do...) Recommended for: People with dark rooms that want alot of light, have good wifi coverage in thier home, and don't mind a convoluted app. Gotta be savvy. Not recommended for: people who want the absolute best tech. People not good with tech, People buying the bulb for the color features. Note: don't have that Alexa garbage, so I couldn't tell you how well it works with Alexa, works great with Google home, nest and assistant, app works on my android phone.

- John Silverman2023-08-25The App isnt great.
I don't know whether to blame the app or the hardware, but I bought two for a flood light in an aviary in one of the south backyard gardens. I have full wifi there, and one light works excellently; the other is always offline until I open it in the app. So yes, I can adjust both lights for color and intensity, but one won't follow a schedule. The quality of light is on par with every other smart bulb other than Philips Hue -- they do have a range of colors but are not bright, but when you switch to the white light spectrums, you will have a decently bright bulb. The whole connectivity thing is a real annoyance because I needed these to be able to turn on and off at certain times throughout the day. EDIT: I reset the bulb a few times and now it works great. So now I have two identical bulbs working together. The App is still junk, the dimming percentage on the home screen is always incorrect. Honestly whatever, who cares. These are not that bad for the price, I stick to the three out of five rating. Philips Hue 5 star, Govee, Mercury, Geeni, Yeelight are the 4 star brands. This is a three star, Not great, these will work as long as you just deal with some BS.
- Joan2020-06-24Great affordable bulb with intuitive and multi-featured app
I haven't tried to connect this with Alexa or Google Home so I can't speak to that. That aside, this is the brightest colour changing lightbulb I've been able to find. It's also far cheaper than bigger brand names. I first saw the set of two 800lm colour changing bulbs at Costco, so I figured it must be a pretty reliable brand and got this one for my desk, where I use the bluish white light in daytime to keep me more awake--I feel like it's working, but at the very least my workspace is brightly lit now! It's easy to install and sync with the Feit app that you do have to download and make an account for (email or phone number). You can group several light bulbs together so if you have a ceiling light with two Feit bulbs, you can change both of their settings as a single group, which is nice organization. It's also really bright and hasn't had any trouble with flickering whatsoever and transitions between the colours quickly via the app. I can also turn the lamp's switch off, and the light bulb will not forget the previous settings I had applied when turned back on. You won't be able to connect to the bulb via the app if you switch the lamp off, though. I hear light bulbs being reset every time you turn the switch off is a common problem with other brands. Finally, like the other reviewers mentioned, it is true that the bulb gets A LOT dimmer when you are using a colour outside of the standard 'white' spectrum (2700K-6500K). This is probably more a physical limitation and not specific to Feit's bulbs, since white light is a combination of all coloured light so once you change it to another colour you are necessarily blocking out light from certain parts of the colour spectrum e.g. if you set it to the colour red, you are necessarily blocking out blue and green light which would make the light bulb 1/3 as bright as white light. At least, I THINK that's how it works. I did also try the Phillips bulbs and they have the same reduction in brightness when used in colour mode. If you're mostly using it along the white light spectrum, this is a GREAT bulb for that. You can use it in the colour mode too, but know that it will be mostly for mood lighting and not very helpful as far as a source of lighting goes.
- Amazon Customer2024-06-13Best Smart Light on the market!
Easy to program, and quick turn on & off.
- Arceus Pogany2024-05-28Bright whites but dull colors
If you want a bright smart bulb but don't need super bright color, this is perfect. The cool white, warm white, and daylight settings are indeed 100W equivalencies in brightness. Any other color and unfortunately the brightness takes a nosedive, more like a typical 60W bulb. The colors are also prone to being washed out at full intensity. Still, this is great for a reading lamp with some mood light potential if you're willing to put up with duller colors unless you go to 80% or less intensity. Easy setup in the app and integrated with Alexa nicely.
- Natalie2024-06-08Love these
I have two lamps in my family room, one of which is not the easiest to get to to turn on. I love that I can turn them on or off from my phone from anywhere and adjust the brightness and color! I plan on buying more for more rooms!
