I didn’t understand the concept behind these lights because I don’t like to watch the TV in the dark. We converted a room into a TV room and from where I sit, the overhead light reflects right into the center of the TV mounted on the wall. I bought sconces to help with the darkness, they help. I added these lights a week ago and love the effect. Super easy to install, I used the additional adhesive cushion, cut into smaller strips, to hide the corner wires. I loved the affect so much, I bought a second set for the TV in the room with recessed lighting that doesn’t create a glare. My only issue is that the slimmer portion of the remote is the part that you point at the lights which is counterintuitive to me, could just be a me-thing.

These started out okay, lights are vibrant but the remote stopped working after a few days, after 7 months of use the bottom strip stopped illuminating. EDIT: I changed my review from 3 stars to 5 because of the customer service; after my review they reached out to me attempting to initiate a full refund upon my confirmation. That was in October of 2023, I didn't see until February of 2024 when i was searching for something unrelated in my email, I responded and same day, which is today, they replied and submitted the refund. Top notch.

This product installed easily, colors are bright, remote is meh, but... From my experience, make sure you are able to reach the USB connector where you plug it into an adapter. 1st, if you have a TV that supports 1amp USB out, this works fine except when you turn off the TV for any length of time, when you turn back on the TV the colors reset to default so you constantly have to change to the color you want. 2nd, if you plug into a USB power brick and have power to the device 24/7 there is a slight problem. When you turn off the device at night, then attempt to turn in back on the next day with the button on the device, the remote or a Bluetooth phone, the device will not turn on the LEDs. However, the device does appear to be connecting via Bluetooth phone as my phone says it's connected; however, when I change the color of the LEDs for example, the light are not on and no apparent color changes. But, if I go unplug the device and plug it right back in, the LEDs light up with the last color attempted to change on the phone. Overall, make sure you have easy access to the USB plug so that you can reset the device daily.

They work as advertised. Very easy to install. They're bright and the remote works well. If you're not looking for the type that changes color depending on what's happening on the screen, these are a good option.

It’s awesome! I’m not sure wherere the negative reviews are from unless they majorly updated this recently. So for the very modest price of $23, you get this major payoff! It looks very cool. I thought I’d have to take my tv off the wall, but I was able to stick it on, without any issues. The adhesion is great. I didn’t use the extra tabs. They could def I prove the instructions for downloading the app but it’s not hard to figure out. Tip, if you’re like me and don’t want to take down the huge 40 lb tv from the wall, don’t take off the adhesion tape until you have your placement right. I took off an inch of tape to partially stick it, but adjusted it so the corners fit right. The remote is terrible tho, and I’m not even sure it works because the buttons are hard to press and won’t do what I want. But the app works great on my tablet so I use that. It turns on and off with the tv. And it looks like a million bucks! I love it. Installed in 10 minutes and I’m just a mom with no technical skills. So a kid could install this is they know where the usb is on their tv.

This is an amazing kit for $15. It works perfectly on my LG 34" ultrawide monitor. Each strip of LEDs is about 19 inches, and the built-in connectors are about 6 inches. I almost got full coverage on my 34" monitor, you can see in the photo there is about a 5 inch gap, bit it looks fine when you are looking at the screen. If you have a larger TV, you probably want one of the longer cords to get the best effect. Also, the strip is bendable, as long as you are careful, you can make it wrap around the corners no problem (look at the image). The LEDs are moderate brightness, not eye melting, but pretty good. The photo didn't come out well, the effect is nicer in person. Really give nice ambiance to the room and make the images on screen pop. Also fun to turn the lights off in the room and still be able to see the keyboard, the ultimate for your gaming cave. There is an app you can download (I tried on Android) and it works okay. I found it glitches out some of the time and loses the connection. A few times the LEDs started blinking rainbows really fast like a night club, but usually restarting the app will fix it. You can select solid colors or choose from a few presets. Like they have red glow, green/blue glow, white strobe, etc. The rainbow fade was alright, but I wish you could select specific colors to cycle through. Otherwise it works good enough, not the end of the world. Overall I am really happy with the purchase. At only $15 this is far cheaper than other options and still works great. A nice upgrade if you're a serious gamer and just want to mod your setup, or make it match the RGB on your PC. Only thing I would want is syncing to the content on screen, but those kits are like $100 or more, this is a good cheap option. Recommended.

UPDATE: DO NOT BUY!! I originally bought this set in June of 2021 and they were great. Very bright and you used the "Happy Lighting" app to change colors, settings, etc. I moved the TV that those were on to the garage when I got a new TV for the living room. Since the last ones were so great, I decided to get these again for the new TV. These are not the same. First, the LED strips went from white to black (a good thing considering they blend with the color of the TV). After installing them the instructions said to download the "Illumi" app to control them. I thought that was strange considering they were the same as the ones I bought last year and used a different app. I just went in my Amazon history and hit buy again, so I knew I was getting the same set. The worst part is that these aren't nearly as bright as my previous set. They are maybe 1/3 the brightness. The remote has several color option buttons. Choosing red comes up yellow. It has buttons to individually increase or decrease the amount of red/blue/green. These buttons do nothing. The next morning after downloading the "Illumi" app, my phone alerted me that a Solitaire app had been installed. I didn't download it, so I uninstalled it. As soon as I did that my phone alerted me that another game (Blocks) had been installed. I didn't install that one either. The only thing that changed was installing the "Illumi" app. After uninstalling it, things stopped being downloaded to my phone. I am returning these. They are terrible in every way. I had a different brand for another TV and they would change colors when I pressed the "OK" button on the TV remote. I had to get the remote for the lights and constantly change them back. These lights don't have that issue. They are very bright and you can use the app to change settings (colors, flash to music, etc.). I tested these with the remote before installing them and the remote worked great. However, after installing them on the TV and placing the sensor for the remote to where it is visible, the remote no longer works. Our couch is about 17' from the TV, so I assumed it was a distance issue. I then kept trying to change the color using the remote while walking closer to the TV. It still did not work. I even placed the remote directly on the sensor pointed at it and it still dosen't work. (I tested the battery using my phone's camera and it does work). I don't know if it is interference from the TV or what. Not a huge issue, I just make any changes with the app, but it would be nice to be able to use the remote. The app is great. It offers you an unlimited amount of colors to choose from and you can adjust the fading frequency (faster or slower) as well.

I think these light maybe good lights if install on the back of a TV. I attached them to my wall panel and they are not that bright. I cannot get blue to display correctly. I am guessing multiple colors need to be next to each other to display it. Also, I set a turnoff time and the lights stay on. They do stick very well and the setup on your phone is easy, as well.

These give off a good amount of light and I like the color choices. Only weird thing is sometimes it randomly comes on while the tv is off. If it’s bed time it gets frustrating for me because it will randomly turn on while the entire room is dark. I’ve started to unplug it during the night for this reason. Not sure if it’s my TVs or the lights, as it does it on both our tvs.

I plugged this product directly into the back of my mounted 75” television to avoid seeing the cables hanging down. Unfortunately, as a result the product flickers randomly on and off, when the TV is turned off. When the TV and lights are turned on, it operates normally and I would recommend this product. Perhaps, it may operate differently when plugged into the wall or with another type of television. The lights come with a remote that has a number of color options and settings. In addition, there is an app available to download for even more color options.
