- Toby M.2024-04-20Audio Quality is poor other than that video quality is great!
So I bought this camera for my kitchen because I couldn't figure out why when I get home there is always a mess on the floor and I finally found out why. It's because my dog can somehow stand up and knock things down on the counter. I was at work when I got a notification of movement so I opened the app on my phone and I could speak to my dog. After reviewing the footage later that day, the quality of the microphone is poor. It's not good at all. You can even hear it in the video. Other than that it's a very good camera for under 20 bucks. Highly recommend if you're looking for a cheap high quality camera and the monthly subscription to get notified of movement is very affordable. It was like $2.99 a month or something like that. Great camera
- Jennifer Bighorn2024-05-04So easy and great quality
For as inexpensive as these are I was shocked at the quality not only of the picture but sound. I use mine for my dog and have 3 in my home. The app is extremely easy. Zooming in is crystal clear and fast and the night vision fearure is super cool. I can even hear his nails clicking on the tile, the sound quality is that good. I have recommended them to several people who love them too. They are so small that they are barely noticeable. The one and only downside is the power cord which gave limited options for placement, but with the zoom and wide range of the video it's not a big deal at all!! I can't recommend these enough. I have the small white stationary ones (non-pivoting).
- Cremdelame2024-05-29Perfect to keep an eye on your kid!
I was needing an easy to connect, easy to use camera, with audio and microphone to calm down my baby meanwhile I'm on the way to the bedroom, this was really perfect, the quality is really good and you can just insert a SD card and will save all the recordings in case you need to check them up later.
- mamala2024-02-17Perfect camera and video quality
Great quality images and video. Live stream. However does require a mini SD card that I couldn't get to stay in. Does take a minute to load video, and does freeze up, probably due to the fact I don't have a card in. KASA is the brand we have so I've always purchased. Reliable, easy to set up and I would purchase this again. I have it in my window to monitor in front of my condo.
- Plain Jane2023-05-15Great indoor camera for home security.
I bought these to watch the inside and outside of my house while I’m away. I’ve had my house broken into before and it sucks when u don’t know who did it. The cameras do lag just a little which isn’t a big deal bc they work. The picture is very clear and the sound is not too good. U can hear words getting exchanged but they sound a little muffled. Motion detection works great and u can talk and listen to voice chats. One thing important… people say that these doesn’t work with 5g and only with 2g. 🧢. I have a 5g internet service and it works well with it. I was worried about that when I bought it after reading reviews… I’m glad i did bc they’re nice with a nice price.
- Drakeor2022-11-09Excellent value for money, can definitely take some abuse.
I originally bought these as a budget camera to put inside one of my rainforest terrariums. The form factor of these ones was perfect, especially compared to their outdoor variants. I didn't expect these to last more than a month or two. Pros ==== - They've been rained on multiple times per day (from the mister system), fallen into the water basin, fallen onto some rocks, caked in mud, scratched up by reptiles, and 5 months later are still are going strong. For a not rated for this kind of abuse, these far exceeded my expectations. - Excellent price per value. This is incredibly helpful when you need multiple cameras to capture different angles. - Pretty good night vision for the price. I've seen worse night vision systems on more expensive models. - Decent enough image quality for the price. It's not anywhere near perfect, contrast is a bit lackluster, but it's good enough that you can see what's going on most of the time. - Low heat output. These average around 83 F in my terrarium and I've never seen one get above 88 F. Cons ==== - The app can be finicky. Luckily, it's pretty easy and straightforward to get the cameras set up in the app. I've used cameras around this price point that fail even that first step. The camera app is generally just buggy. They do update the application often though, and sometimes those updates do seem to resolve some of the bugs. It's not nearly as solid as other camera apps though. - Motion Detection is extremely spotty. I maxed out the sensitivity on mine, did not use activity zones, and it still misses some events it should pick up. Sometimes, it will be accurate enough to pick up a small worm peaking out from under a leaf and wiggling around. Other times, it blatantly misses a large human opening the terrarium doors with their face filling the entire frame. - Auto night vision will sometimes stay in night vision permanently. I wish there was a setting to set the threshold for it changing back from night to day. If you have a shaded part of your house, it will never be bright enough to toggle back from night to day. Conclusion ====== It's like $25 (as of this writing) a camera and survives a decent amount of abuse. I have about 5-6 of them now for my terrariums and have yet to have one fail. Despite it's flaws, you can't go wrong for the price.
- Dr.Jé2022-11-22Needs Improvements - MAJOR IMPROVEMENTS - inefficient
- Annoyance: Why do I have to watch the video segment to record it? Why cant we select the start and end points and hit export! It's counterintuitive. If you want to snatch a 3 min, 20 min, 18 min, 45 second video snippet you have to watch the entire duration - instead of selecting the start & end points of your selected area and hit EXPORT - its too time consuming and lack of effectiveness to allow this. It doesn't make sense that we can't input when we want to start recording a copy and when we want to end said recording, hit export, file available. The inconsistency with audio being captured on the exported content is hit or miss, so I had to get creative with screen record to capture audio when the app export is trash. Update: Why does LIVE view hear audio but when you record the activity the video has NO sound on .mp4 file SMH - not good for any REAL security, fine for something simple but if you need something SERIOUS that works, exports video files with EASE with AUDIO - the settings say record audio - but no audio is recorded when you export - u can hear it LIVE though - even with the record audio setting on or off it still pics up sound - no audio export though so stupid - if you need something SERIOUS look elsewhere Wow! I like the build, the APP is of poor quality and needs a major refresh. Runs slow, playback is slow, it says it is recording audio but when you save a clip there is no audio just video – unsure about the privacy aspect of these Kasa products. The image quality could be better focused. When recording a clip, they need to relocate the red recording notice – we also need to have easier access to use the video pulling/recording of scenes during playback. The person detection is off at times, it will capture motion but it’s a person moving actually. Not sure if the camera is running 24/7 even in the event of Wi-Fi going down or being powered off. Not bad for the cost I guess, but it could use some improvements specifically their app – it’s dated, janky, and not user friendly or efficient – bad code.

This is my third camera to purchase from this brand. I have them featured in multiple rooms in my house. Simple to setup and the quality is amazing for the price point.
- Brian B.2024-05-06Mixed feelings on this one.
Bought two of these now for child monitoring (in two seperate rooms). Here we go... Pros; The camera is extremely easy to install and set up. It has decent video in low light, and actually better quality in zero light. Perfect for watching a sleeping baby in a crib. Con(s); Here's the solid gold biggie PITA with this product. About every ten minutes the video stream will stop with an onscreen message asking if you want to "Continue Live Streaming?" Hmmm...let's see. I'm watching my baby nap whilst trying to get the housework done (we use an iPad as it's easily portable to watch on). Nah mate...he should be good. What could possibly go wrong?? (Sacrasm heavily implied). It states on the manufacturer's website that if the camera and device you watch on are on the same wifi network, it will not do this. Google it. You'll hit a link to their site on the tech page. It's a known and incredibly common issue. Personally I've been in IT for >20 years. I *think* I have a bit of networking knowledge in my background. Sometimes it will work as intended without interruption, but I would hazard a guess that 90+% of the time, *it does not* and you have to hit the prompt on screen to continue. A major league PITA when you're up to your elbows in dishes and baby bottles. It's a great camera at a remarkably low price, that's hamstrung by one software issue that is known, and they have no intention of resolving. Most users seem to think it's a subtle way of them coercing you to buy some form of plan online. Don't know, don't care, don't need. But it would be nice if I didn't have to drop everything to continue chronically. Which I literally just had to as I was writing this. smh...

I have several of these. Like that I can use a SD card to record instead of paying for the cloud. Easy to set up and use the app..
