ORIGINAL REVIEW: 1 STARS I like the concept of the Ring app by Atleast 10% of sensors I try to connect fail and I have to reset them and do annoying things. Several times I had to call support. This system has been on the market for a long time. Adding sensors should be flawless at this point and take half the time. Adding one sensor a time on many windows takes hours. UPDATED REVIEW 4 STARS 5/8/24 So originally the devices failed constantly. I realized that if your start the sensor installation process and move the sensor a few feet away from your phone and attach it to the door.... even though its 3 feet away the activation process takes forever and it often fails and needs a factory reset. If you keep the sensor a few inches from your phone... its much faster and reliable. After wasting many hours on sensors and devices i finally figured that out. They should put that in the instructions. Also one of my keypads were malfunctioning and i called and they refused to replace it under warranty because apparently my credit card changed and my pro plan subscription lapsed for like a few weeks and that voided my warranty. Ring support saw my frustrated review and reached out to me personally. They replaced my keypad and now my system is functional. I updated review to 4 stars because that support was actually really great. I wish the original support rep would have just swapped the keypad and they should instruct all people activating devices to keep the phone next to them.

Got through to support - they helped resolve issue. Batteries were not seated correctly.

These are smaller then the older ones and work great and very easy to setup.

So, got my hands on the Ring Alarm Contact Sensor – a true security sidekick. Easy setup, and the peace of mind is real. Knowing when doors or windows open is a game-changer, especially for the forgetful types like me. The con? Batteries. They're not a deal-breaker, but having to replace them periodically is a bit of a nag. Still, the security boost it brings to daily life is worth the small battery hassle. My home feels safer already.

I broke one of my gen 1 sensors and needed a replacement. This integrated into my 1st gen system perfectly.

Purchased these after Google screws me over with there Nest Secure device. Was looking for something comparable with self monitoring. Overall these work fine and easy to install. Directions were easy to follow and adhesive works well (make sure to clean the spot you’re applying it to with alcohol). The only con I have is I wished it had a light where when you walk by it gives you a path light (the google sensor did this).

If you are like me that rent or move often, please DO NOT remove the double face tape & use the screws that come in the box. I made the mistake in one window on my previous home, but was extremely easy to remove, in the new place I removed the old tape with a small spoon & used the screws. I bought my alarm system that came with 4 of these and needed 4 more, so I bought 2 sets. This was 2 yrs ago and the batteries still work like new. If you leave them behind in the previous home you'll be wasting money plus you need to deregister them from your account as they don't work with other alarms, well last time I checked. Now there is even spacers sold here in case that there is a gap of more than 1" (remember, the sensor will not work if placed more than 1" apart) *Note* for the customer that was inquiring about the approval (sorry I forgot the number) I am attaching the scanned pic of the description paper that comes in the box & a few other pictures.

Very easy to add to current system and installation was a breeze. All added sensors are working perfectly.
