- Steve Reynolds2023-10-31Great Device
I used this to replace my mechanical landscaping light control. It's great. Obviously totally silent when it was easy to hear the mechanical controller time wheel grinding away. Comes with a great WiFi based phone app that allows precise light control for every day. I also use an accompanying "pico" hand ON/OFF control anytime I want a quick override of the WiFi phone app control. One time I needed some technical support and received quick, great phone support. This is a great product.

Purchased flood lights that were not compatible with soft on wireless switches. These did the trick. They're wireless with a good transmission distance even through a couple sheet rock walls and doors. They're not cheap, but seem well made with hopefully years of potential use. Note - these are made to be on-off switches, not adjustable dimmer type. You can also add wireless switches to the unit for controlling multiple locations.

I have tried other solutions, but they proved inconsistent. So I bought the smart hub and I use this item to turn on my rear landscape lighting and just added the pico wireless controller to my existing 4 gang box by buying the pico mounting kit and just buying a 5 gang cover. This product has consistently worked within any issues! After this I started adding other Lutron casata items and they al work like a champ!
- Trent2022-12-16Great way to make an item smart, like an outdoor Christmas tree
I it was so easy to set up and once we plugged it in and plugged it into the tree we immediately had access to it both in our Lutron app, as well as our Apple smart HomeKit. We were able to automate it, so it turned on at certain hours, and offered other hours, my favorite part was using a pico switch from inside to connect to it to turn it on and off from a light switch. I absolutely love their products.

You do need to get a Caseta hub but it is still less expensive than other solutions for outdoor lighting. My landscaping guy wanted to sell me a timer that used a phone app with an ongoing subscription. I don’t think there is a better solution offered by anyone.

If, like me, you have a Caseta home already, then you'll understand that it works just like any other switch/lamp plug. And that's a good thing. Plug it in, open the app, select Add device, hold the button down for 10 seconds, and done. My outdoor patio lights are now part of my HomeKit house, as well as automation.
- Walter2021-11-01Works great with my Caseta system!
I got this to make my outdoor landscape lights smarter. I already had the Caseta system setup indoors, for lots of switches, including ones that controlled the porch and garage. Those run on a sunset/sunrise schedule, and after adding this outdoor plug, the landscape lights run on the exact same schedule. Works beautifully.
- Dennis L2021-11-27Works with Lutron Caseta as is clearly stated. Does not work with RA2 Select.
Good product but did not work in my Lutron RA select which I had ASSUMED. Seller was very understanding and allowed me to return the item. Seller was very easy to work with, especially given that the error was a result of an assumption I made.
- Jendar2024-05-19expensive and doesn't work without a hub
It was way too expensive but I bought it anyway only to discover that I needed to also buy the hub which is also expensive. No thanks! I returned it and bought something else that didn't a need a hub and was only $18.00 bucks! HA!
- CarmelDC2024-03-09A nearly perfect outdoor smart plug that worked flawlessly right out of the box
We recently started smartening our home and have purchased several different Lutron Caseta smart home products, all of which we've been very satisfied with. Most recently, we bought two of the outdoor smart plugs to control our dual zone landscape lighting. Within a few minutes, I was able to connect and install both plugs inside of a VOLT dual outlet and dual photosensor equipped 600W transformer (which it appears the company no longer sells, sadly). The Lutron app is, quite frankly, phenomenal imho and added both plugs to our network without a hitch. This new arrangement addresses a couple of issues. One is that the lighting is now reliably synced to go on and off based on astronomical sunset and sunrise. Previously, our mechanical timers weren't quite cutting it and would get thrown off by the occasional lightning surge or power outage. One of the photo sensors would get out of sync because trees and shrubs near the transformer would cause it to turn on and off at unpredictable times. Eventually, we'd like to sync some lights with a weather module, so that some lights turn on when the weather is overcast or darkens due to inclement weather. The one nit I have to pick is that I wish the plug itself was flat to make it easier to fit the device inside the tight confines of our transformer. Even better would be a flat plug that rotates.
