    It's a cool gadget

it's a cool gadget. easy to setup, durable quality. Just be aware, sven as others state, this dies not sork well /sync with Alexa. Alexa don't recognize it or only turns on/off one device but doesn't recognize the others. it's easier to just use the app.

    Reliable!

I have Kasa products all around my house! Fairly easy to set up. I have had some issues getting the mini Kasa plugs to link up. But once it's set these are so helpful and convenient. My main use for getting these was to put my reptile lights on a schedule. I love how you can go into the app anytime to check on this or change the schedule up so quickly. Highly recommended!

Works great with my grow lights

This strip was fairly simple to connect to my Wi-Fi although it did take two attempts. Full disclosure, I have it in my garage a little ways from the router. I'm using this with two grow lights that need to be on a schedule. I quickly installed the app, and then started discovery and setup for the strip. The whole process was less than 10 minutes and I was able to name both lights and then enter a schedule. So far this is working great and I'm also able to plug my phone in via USB when I'm working with my plants. A nice feature - having both USB and standard plug options.

    Works perfectly!

This power strip has been awesome! The app is easy to install, setup, & use. We have it turn on/off the heat lamp, UVB lamp, & humidifier in our lizards enclosure every day. It's nice not to have to worry about doing that every morning & evening. He likes the consistency. :)

Kasa KP303: Savvy Powerplay for the Discerning Techie

As a hardware hacker with a penchant for home automation, Kasa's KP303 piqued my curiosity. Three individually controllable smart outlets, 2.4GHz Wi-Fi connectivity, and ETL-certified surge protection – all in a compact, user-friendly package? Sign me up. Initial setup was a breeze, the Kasa app guiding me through a painless Wi-Fi handshake. Connectivity remains rock-solid, even on the fringes of my router's reach, thanks to its sensitive 5dBi antennas. Individual outlet control is a boon, letting me power-cycle finicky devices or automate elaborate "movie night" routines through the app's intuitive timer and scheduling features. Speaking of the app, it's a geek's playground. Granular power monitoring lets me track individual outlet consumption, which is a boon for optimizing energy use. The local API access, a hidden gem, opens doors for custom Raspberry Pi integrations and voice control beyond Alexa and Google Assistant. However, no tech gem is flawless. The lack of 5GHz Wi-Fi support might irk bandwidth-hungry users, and the app's versatile automation options could benefit from more advanced logic like geofencing or IFTTT compatibility. The Kasa KP303 is a potent blend of user-friendly convenience and techie delight. Its robust connectivity, individual outlet control, and hidden API access make it a steal for the price. While it won't replace my Frankenstein's monster of custom Pi-powered relays, it's earned a permanent spot on my workbench – and a solid recommendation for tech-savvy tinkerers seeking a smart power upgrade.

Works well ... nearly all of the time

This smart power strip continues to do what it's advertised to do ... 99.9% of the time. That 0.1% is the problem, but I'll get to that. It worked out of the box using the instructions provided. I downloaded the Kasa Smart app onto my phone, and after setup I was able to name and control the power strip's three outlets (I got the version with three outlets) independently, or combine two or all of them together into a group and control them at the same time. I can also control them with Google Home. It's advertised as also being compatible with Alexa, but I don't have anything with Alexa, so I can't test that firsthand. Each outlet also has a toggle button that allows the user to switch that outlet on or off manually, and each button has an LED that shows whether the outlet is currently supplying power to whatever's plugged into it. This is a bigger deal than one might think at first. Imagine a desk lamp with a chain that can be pulled to turn it on or off, but you can't tell by just looking at it whether that pull-chain switch is on or off. Now imagine that you plug it into this power strip and it doesn't light up. Where's the problem – is the light bulb burned out? Is the lamp turned off? Is the power strip's outlet off? Well, I can eliminate the third question by just looking at this power strip and making sure that the outlet is on, so one pull of the lamp's chain will tell me whether the light bulb is burned out or not. The thing is, occasionally the power strip will just suddenly stop responding to the network. I don't know what causes this, but it will suddenly and silently disconnect; its power light and connection light will say that it's powered and connected to wi-fi, but the app says it can't contact the device. I can still manually toggle the outlets on and off with the buttons, but I can't control it with the app, or Google Home, etc. I can unplug the device and plug it back in, resetting it, and things work again. But I never know when it's going to glitch again, and that unreliability is what gives this device four stars instead of five for me. It doesn't happen every day – it's been weeks since the last time it happened, in fact – but not knowing what caused it or when it's going to happen again adds just enough uncertainty that I can't quite trust it. I'm not going to plug anything into it that might be disastrous if it couldn't be controlled. Very well designed other than that shadow of unreliability.

    Works well with Alexa

This works well with Alexa - initially I had some issues getting it to work reliably when I re-used the name I had given to a WeMo outlet used for the same lamp. I gave this outlet a new name that had never been used on my network and it has performed flawlessly since then.

    Very pleased!

I absolutely love this smart plug! I have three or four of them now, and they are perfect for managing my greenhouse and plant lights. The timers have always been consistent, ensuring my plants get the right amount of light every day. The plug strip has a modern and clean look that fits well with my setup. Setting the timers is easy to do, making it incredibly convenient to use. Highly recommended for anyone needing reliable and stylish smart plugs!

Needed This Power Strip Years Ago

I wish we had this years ago! We have a beverage cooler, string lights, and a pool robot plugged into this wifi power strip. Set-up too 5 minutes or less using the corresponding (free) Kasa App. Amazon Alexa found the strip quickly and responds well. I was able to use the strip to have the patio string lights come on at sunset and turn off at a specific time depending on the day of the week. We prefer for them to stay on a little later on weekends. However, if you hit the bed early that night, we only have to ask Alexa to turn the lights off. This sure beats the heck out of bending over to unplug lights after a few adult beverages if you know what I mean. This was a great purchase!

    Support help

Had an issue with the app error message "time not in sync", so I can not use the timers. No support or no troubleshooting in manual. This would have been helpful. Finally found a support link to website, contacting support and filling out their pre-help form was a little cumbersome. When I finally got help, help was very good. It seems when I added a new device, the new device set a new time zone, causing the error. This can be corrected in the "me" area at the bottom of the home page. Must admit, this makes me wonder if this was someones returned product since it was set for Detroit (made in china, why would they use a Detroit default?) , when I'm on the east coast, hmmm? Would still recommend these smart plugs, once set, they work very good.
