The ecobee Smart Sensors hook into the app and ecobee thermostat super easy. Really little to no configurations at all, simply scan the QR code on the sensor and the app finds it and adds it to your thermostat. Not everyone needs additional sensors, but for me this was a must. The only thermostat that is installed is in the ecobee Smart Thermostat and it is installed in an area that does not see people cross its path very often. When it thinks that there is no one home it then stops heating or cooling to save energy (good thing). The bad part is when we don't go past the thermostat it thinks no one is home and the house either gets super cold or very hot until we go past the thermostat or manually adjust in the app. With these little sensors, you can have them in areas that people are in and it registers that someone is home and keeps the Heat or AC running. Some people may say why not turn of the the ability of the thermostat so it just stays on. Well, that defeats the purpose of a smart thermostat, and I do want it to be able to automatically turn the heating off and on if we are really not at home. Overall these are great little sensors and I think very well designed. I'm am pleased with them and happy that I have purchased them.

I got an ecobee thermostat from my utility company. Then I added these sensors in my bedroom and family room. This allows me to focus temperatures in rooms where it’s mot important. At night I want the bedrooms cooler and the temps can creep during the day, you can set up your thermostats this way. Been using for a year and they work great

I received both of these in perfect condition. Plastic was intact, tabs were in place. 1st sensor connected right away, surprisingly fast. I connected the 2nd one a couple days later and it searched and searched. Would not connect, then I followed each step even placing it on top of the thermostat. Had to call customer service and redo all the steps for them. 40 minutes later she went ahead and took my info and said they were replacing it. It was a defect and to dispose of it properly. They work great but was disappointed that both in the box did not have the same results.

Pros: Accurate Temperature Readings: The ecobee SmartSensor 2 Pack provides accurate temperature readings, ensuring that your home is always at the desired temperature. Easy Installation: The sensors are wireless and can be easily installed anywhere in your home. They also come with adhesive tape for easy mounting. Multi-Room Monitoring: The ecobee SmartSensor 2 Pack allows you to monitor multiple rooms in your home, which is ideal for larger homes. Improved Energy Efficiency: The sensors can detect occupancy, allowing you to automatically adjust the temperature when someone enters or leaves the room. This helps to save energy and reduce your electricity bills. Works with Voice Assistants: The ecobee SmartSensor 2 Pack works with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple HomeKit, making it easy to control your home's temperature with your voice. Cons: Additional Cost: The ecobee SmartSensor 2 Pack is an additional cost on top of the ecobee thermostat, which can be expensive. Limited Compatibility: The sensors only work with ecobee thermostats and cannot be used with other brands. Battery Life: The sensors require batteries, which need to be replaced every year. This can be inconvenient for some users. Limited Features: While the ecobee SmartSensor 2 Pack is a great addition to the ecobee thermostat, it does not have as many features as other smart home sensors on the market. Requires a Strong Wi-Fi Signal: The ecobee SmartSensor 2 Pack relies on a strong Wi-Fi signal to function properly. If your Wi-Fi signal is weak, the sensors may not work as intended. Overall, the ecobee SmartSensor 2 Pack is a great addition to the ecobee thermostat, providing accurate temperature readings and improved energy efficiency. While it does have some limitations, it is a good investment for those looking to monitor multiple rooms in their home and save on energy costs.
- Matt G2024-06-08Good remote sensors, better than the old model
The batteries in these last forever. I was always having to replace the battery in the old kind. The thermostat links up very quickly and easily. Recommend.
- Harrison Logan2024-06-10Easily let's you set temperature on a room by room basis
These connect quickly to the ecobee thermostat and let me change my comfort settings based on a room by room basis. Fantastic flexibility to help keep electric bills down over the hot summer

These are expensive but I wanted to create usage zones and this allowed me to do it. Now the whole house is covered no matter what floor you're on.

We have three zones, each controlled by a different Ecobee thermostat model. The follow-me feature is AMAZING, but requires a sensor in places that might be occupied. We realized this when we got really cold while playing Pandemic during the Pandemic in our sensor-free dining room well after bedtime. No one was moving around in any of the monitored rooms, so the programmed 65ºF sleep schedule kicked in. Had we been in the kitchen, Ecobee would have kept us at a comfortable 72ºF. So, we added a few sensors. More recently, we have been experiencing some odd temperature fluctuations in various rooms of the house. I went into data collection mode, and we added six more sensors, including one in the unheated garage and another in the laundry room 10' away. I now have temperature and occupancy data collected every 5 minutes in 14 different places in my house. After having four gallons of milk go bad prior to the sell date in as many weeks, I decided to move two of the new sensors to the fridge. I now know the temperature impact of opening the fridge door on the door-in-door compartment (<2º). I also know how much colder the deli drawer is as compared to that convenience compartment (5.0-10.2ºF). As expected, none of the readings are within 15ºF of the fridge's desired temperature setting.

Would not pair with a 2017 ecobee. Tstat saw the sensor but pairing would not happen. No way I am setting everything to factory reset. It is summer 17 desert degrees and I don’t need the main tstat getting hung up and unusable. Sent it back. Sad you have to buy 2 when you only need one.
