    Bad interface, for one…

There are too many problems, but let me start with the interface. The interface is not at all user friendly, much worse than the 2 other heated floor thermostats I have used before, Mysa and Laticrete. What the app offers is bare minimum. If you need to adjust the setting you still have to do it on the thermostat myself. The delay between the phone app and the actual thermostat display is significant. It takes days to heat to the desired temperature, if it can reach it at all. Even in the smallest detail, it’s energy use charts even get the am and pm wrong (see screenshot). It confused me for a while, when I saw 2 “6 AM,” and then I realized the 2nd must be a typo for “6 PM.” There are other issues that I cannot numerate. But overall, this is a frustrating product and I don’t recommend it.

    Quality product

Easy to install, high quality screen, excellent functionality. Two minor issues: mine is installed in a sunroom and the display is hard to read without touching it to wake it from sleep. Dim is too dim, and the brightness setting seems to only apply to the wake state. Also the app works great but there is some delay in the reading so sometimes it doesn’t immediately reflect the set temperature. It also does not have all the functionality available on the unit itself.

A great product, worth the price.

I had been looking for a WiFi thermostat to remotely control electric baseboard heat at my ski condo. Until this product became available, the only alternatives involved installing relays along with a WiFi thermostat, which was not an option for me. This thermostat is "as advertised" and works great with my baseboard heat. The installation instructions were fine for me (I'm not an electrician, but do some home upgrades and repairs myself), and I recommend downloading the user manual (I had to read through it twice, but overall it is well done) to avoid frustration during initial set-up. After set-up, the thermostat is easy to use and intuitive. The only issue I had was connecting to my WiFi router, which I had to relocate to "line of sight" for the thermostat. I suspect this is because the thermostat has a relatively compact WiFi antenna. Once the relocation of the router was complete, no issues, and has remained connected for 5 days solid. I am not expecting any connection issues. The web interface and iOS app are, I would say, relatively "light-weight" in features, but they absolutely get the job done. For my purposes, I want to turn the heat on prior to my arrival so the condo is warm. The app interface is very clean and easy to use for this purpose. It has the ability to adjust schedules (if you desire to have the thermostat on a schedule...) and it shows some version of energy usage, but I don't use those features. I use the thermostat in "manual" mode only. I recommend this product without hesitation for remotely controlling baseboard heat. It's easy to install, easy to use, and well-designed.

Best Programmable Thermostat for Baseboard Electric Heat Ever

What I like 1. Easy installation - 40 minutes for me, including time to run to the basement to turn power off and on, remove old Honeywell thermostat, put in new one, program it, connect it to my wifi and download App for my iphone. 2. Large clear screen 3. Easy to program - best of any programmable units I've ever used and i've used a lot. 4. Energy Usage Display - really useful to see how many hours it has been on, Displays last 24 hours, last week and last year. This feature alone is worth the extra price as I expect to use this as feedback on how I might program it to use less energy. 5. Iphone App - So nice to be able to reprogram it with the App while sitting down watching the first game of the world series 6. Easy to over ride program - very simple to push arrows to adjust set temperature up or down from program setting and also easy to change the duration of the hold 7. Remote control of temp via iphone app - will be so nice to have the house toasty warm after having it set very very low when we are away for a week or two. Suggested improvements 1. Only one program. I expected to have at least 4 programs stored for different usage pattens; Most programmable thermostats provide this feature. Easy reprogramming makes this less objectionable but it would have been an easy feature to add. 2. No on-off switch - I generally flip the thermostat off from May to Sept. I will have to flip the circuit breaker instead Overall, this is a great improvement over any programmable I've used (haven't used the NEST). I debated about whether to get the Nuheat Home or the Signature and am glad I spent the extra money for the wifi capability. I think it will pay for itself in energy savings.as the App makes it so easy to control the thermostat whether I'm sitting in my recliner and visiting grandkids on the other side of the country.

Best Option for WiFi-Connected Floor Heating

We've slowly been adding in-floor heat to various rooms in our basement as we remodel, and I've used Nuheat Nvent thermostats each time. (This is now the third.) It's not amazing - the touchscreen is meh, and the interface seems clunky and dated, especially for the price, and especially when compared to modern smart thermostats for traditional HVAC systems - but it does the job, and installation is fairly easy. It's possible to access the thermostat remotely both from the mobile app and a web interface, which is handy. You can also connect it to ITTT recipes, which gives it some nice flexibility. I wish there were other options. Given all the choices in the traditional smart thermostat space, you think there would be, but this is about the only game in town if you want something programmable and internet-connected - which is probably why these things cost so damn much. I've sprung for a used item off Amazon Warehouse each time I've bought one, and that helps a little. So far, they've all worked fine. This most recent thermostat had obviously been previously installed and returned, so I was a little worried - I made sure to test it BEFORE we laid down flooring on top of the mats - but it worked great.

    Great Radiant Floor Thermostat

While shopping for a thermostat for my heated floor it became apparent there weren't alot of attractive options out there. I was quickly drawn to this one for its modern appearance, functions, and good reviews. The cost to run my heating system is about $0.35 an hour so the ability to control it remotely is a money saver. My set up: Nuheat Signature wifi thermostat 240v installation Honeywell AC11201 sensor (2 installed incase one fails) WarmAll radiant heat cable, 260 sq/ft heated area (3120 watts) Ubiquiti UAP-AC-LR wifi access points Pros: Installation and setup were pretty straight forward. No issues with wifi, the thermostat has always reconnected after power outages. The phone app works well, haven't had any issues or delays communicating with the thermostat. The energy usage function is nice although it will only tell you the hours of usage so you have to know the wattage of your system to figure out the cost. Cons: This is not a problem for me but may be annoying to others, the thermostat can be heard clicking on and off when the house is quiet. Overall this is a great thermostat for heated floors. After purchasing this one I decided to use the non-wifi "Home" version in my bathroom which has also worked great.

Exact replacement for 8yr old one that died.

I bought this to replace one that quit working for a heated floor. It was exactly the same model and installed with ease. This kit includes 2 pieces; wall mount w/GFI and the display. The wall mounted GFI is was what failed. Works great.

The unit is OK, the app is terrible.

I had the older style thermostat that fit perfectly into a dual-duplex outlet. But after many years it failed, and they don't make that model anymore. This is the "upgrade." Wiring it in is easy: two wires for the power in, two for the power out, and two for the floor thermostat. The hole and screws for the thermostat wire are quite small, and it can be a little challenging to get the wires in place and secure them, especially since they go in from the bottom up, i.e., you can't see the hole when the unit is mounted. Of course, the unit is not the same size as what it is replacing. As I had mine mounted using two positions of a four-wide duplex strip, I had to modify (hacksaw) the cover plate, AND put a plastic insert to cover the resulting open area, but it worked out OK. Programming the unit the first time is a little tedious, since you have to enter WiFi passwords and such from a very small touchscreen (and I have big hands, and not-so-great fine motor control), but it did set up fine and connects to the WiFi once configured. It even re-connects properly after a power outage (we get a lot of those here), so that was nice to see. I *expected* that once set up, I could do everything I wanted from the accompanying app. No, no, no! The ONLY thing you can do from the app is to change the schedule, i.e., times on/off and temperature. Oh, and you can see the "energy usage" (basically a histogram of when the thing came on and off in the past). You can't change modes, you can't change any configuration parameters, nada. I was hoping to use it to turn it off when I go away for more than a day or so, then turn it back on remotely on my way home. No such luck, unless you are willing to "fake it" by changing the temperature settings, because that's the only thing you can see or control. You could save a few bucks by buying the non-WiFi model (physically identical), without losing much. The app is virtually useless.

    Easy to Install -- IF

Easy to install if you are a master electrician. Or probably journeyman. I can handle routine electrical problems -- replace plugs, install a light fixtures or ceiling fan, and other minor problems, but a review of the instructions encouraged me to hire an electrician -- which I did. It took more than a few minutes to install, but it works exactly as described for our heated floor. Excellent product!

A very good color screen thermostat

I purchased this thermostat to replace my 10 year old NuHeat Solo thermostat that recently died. The thermostat controls my NuHeat heated floors. I understand NuHeat thermostats have an "internal relay" that typically lasts 6-10 years, and once the relay fails, one must buy a new thermostat as the relay cannot be replaced. The Solo thermostat is no longer being made so my choices were the Signature or the Home NuHeat thermostat if I wanted to use a NuHeat thermostat, which was my desire. I decided to buy the Signature thermostat, which has WiFi capability, (the main difference from the Home thermostat) as I considered the price differential (about $45) acceptable and I wanted one day delivery that was being offered if you purchased the Signature over the Home thermostat--I really missed my heated NuHeat floors! I am probably more amazed with the one day Amazon delivery than this Signature thermostat! Not sure how Amazon does it, but when same day service is available, it is wonderful! Now to the Signature thermostat. It was relatively easy to install but the directions were less than clear so I had to call NuHeat for clarification which they promptly provided. The Signature thermostat immediately worked as advertised and continues to work great. I like the touch screen color display but the detailed instructions are not included in the package--you must download them from the NuHeat website. Seems petty (cheap or chinchy) not to include a 21 page manual! Once set up with NuHeat.com, you can access your thermostat via a website or an app (e.g., for iOS) and make changes just like you were at home making changes. Your local weather is also displayed on the thermostat screen! I would have rated this five stars if the instructions were better and had an operating manual been included. I am also mildly disappointed that changes to the firmware used in the thermostat cannot be made. Most WiFi devices currently being manufactured allow for changes (updates) to the unit's firmware--not this one! Even my six year old smart TV allows for firmware updates! Unexpected bugs in electronic devices, like this one, always result--hence the need for firmware updates! Update, January 21, 2023. Well guess what? This nearly 6 year old thermostat died and I had to buy a replacement. In the 6 years that I have owned this device, I really appreciated its internet capability—access the thermostat from anywhere with an internet connection AND seeing the local temperature outside plus a forecast for the next 24 hours—real handy. Just enter your zipcode when setting up the thermostat. See attached photos. This time, in 2023, replacing the thermostat was easy since the design had not changed from the thermostat I installed in 2017. Just remove the wires from the old, and install them in the same order you removed them from the old thermostat. Now if Nuheat could figure out a way to make these last longer—I would have updated this review to 5 stars.
