I was a little confused about the initial setup but I think I was trying to make it more difficult than it was. The most important thing is to put the Beam close to your router. Before I started using the Beam, my phone would buffer and not get to my camera when I needed to see it. Since I added the Beam, my camera shows a live picture almost immediately. This was definitely money well spent. A great addition to my security system.

Made the mistake of purchasing 2 ZMODO cameras several months ago. Originally very difficult to set up then worked poorly once i had them set up; customer relations attributed it to not having a strong enough wifi signal. Finally decided to try this extender to see if it would boost the reliability. 1.5 hrs trying to set up plus another 20 min waiting for on-line chat support just for the technician to ask what I needed and never reply to me again. Finally got connected to phone tech support, as i was processing to return to Amazon, and another hr later he agreed there was nothing else but to return. Done with ZMODO! time to find another brand that will actually work.

I bought this to extend the range of two cameras I have mounted on my detached garage. They did pick up my wifi signal from the house but there was a lag and often loss of signal due to being on the edge of the range of my wifi router. I bought the wifi range extender because it claimed to extend it up to 200m (656ft) and 300Mbps. However, I found like many other reviewers the actual functional range extended was far less. In my case it extended about an additional 75ft which was enough to cover my needs. I also had hoped that it would easily link in with my existing system but that was not the case. After about an hour of repeatedly following the instructions I was able to get it work. For the price there may be other alternatives that install easier but in the end I am satisfied with it since I was able to get it installed.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this product. I am thrilled with the boost it has given our wi-fi. We recently plastered our walls and I had no idea that natural plaster can really kill your signal strength. This has worked beautifully and was very easy to set up and use.

I purchased this device to mainly use it for the Zmodo smart hub & window/door sensors. The Zmodo beam will not detect the sensors and it will not update! I’ve called customer service multiple times, and they haven’t been any help. They just keep telling me unplug and reset the device. I was emailed a zip file to update via my laptop. The file came with no instructions and when I call back no one with customer service seems to know anything about the file I was emailed.

I bought this because the Zmodo 720p HD Outdoor Home Wireless Security Surveillance Video Camera System (1 Pack) camera constantly lost the signal at about 40-45 ft. from the Wi-Fi router. While the camera now works SOME of the time, it still does not work ALL the time. Set up was very iffy. Even though the Beam said it was connected okay, I still couldn't get the video feed. Through constant re-setting and installing, it finally started to work, but not consistently. Live chat was totally useless. It was 5-7 minutes between responses as if the person on the other end had to study the manual. And then he/she simply stated the installation process over again rather than troubleshooting. I'll get on the phone on Monday to try to iron out the problem(s).

I have found that camera quality is excellent, and connectivity is generally great. BUT I have been unable to get the NVR (recorder) to function properly. It also will NOT reset to factory defaults. So I cannot clean-house and start over. I had to contact the company for help; they responded by emails initially, but were unable to solve the problem quickly. It took me weeks to have the time to spend in The Rabbit Hole again working on the problem. So they advice had not been able to solve the problem. I think that the NVR may just be faulty, and I am not comfortable with putting my home surveillance in a cloud in a foreign country. So I haven’t wanted to go cloud-based yet. I am disappointed to have all this equipment with not useful connectivity.

I bought it for connecting the window sensors to it as my old repeater was damaged. First problem ,it is not detecting the windows' sensors so I hoped that it will work after updating the firmware. 2nd problem ,the firmware show that "New Version available" but when I try to update it shows "Get device update status failed" 3rd problem,customer service support of Zmodo are answering any thing not related to solving the problem .i.e. when I wrote them email explaining the situation ,they simply reply you device is not online and asked me to ensure that is online before updating the firmware .in other words ,they assume that the customer dont know the ABC of updating the devices :D
