Instructions were a little confusing then I used the Bilt app. Made things a lot easier. I have the Genesis II so it was a bit more complicated. Works well though. Don’t have to keep opening the grill.

This is a great component for monitoring meat temperature without repeatedly opening the lid. The probes are accurate and thus far I've grilled a whole chicken, a pork tenderloin and a prime rib roast, this last item the reason I bought the kit to begin with. I was extremely pleased with the results. Installation was easy and took about 20 minutes when done with care. The only drawback is that the Bluetooth connection requires several attempts before it finally pairs. The connection also drops from time to time, so I find it critical to check the app every so often to make sure its still paired with the probes.

UPDATE: I sent a note to Weber customer service about this and they sent me a replacement unit. The replacement does not seem to have this problem. It works fine and never unexpectedly disconnects any longer. Upgraded my rating from 3 to 5. ——— I really want to like this device. It fits well with my Weber grill and when it works, it works really well. But what I've found is if the ambient temperature rises somewhere above 87 or so degrees Fahrenheit, that's when the Bluetooth connection starts failing. The device randomly disconnects from the app and starts blinking. Sometimes it will reconnect after a little bit on its own. Many times it won't. Turning it off and back on will sometimes get it to reconnect. I've been able to test my theory by cooling it down with an ice pack when it won't hold a stable connection. It indeed becomes stable and works properly from then on. So, buyer beware. This product seems to have a design defect. If you are in a cooler climate and/or don't mind keeping an icepack on it when the temperature heats up, you'll love it. Otherwise, you might want to give it a pass.

This is a perfect accessory to have so that you can turn any grill into a smart grill. It has a great range and battery life.

I gave this to my son when I purchased a new Weber grill for him. I have it on my Weber grill and love it. It has saved many an expensive cut of beef. He has now also become a huge fan! The phone app is great as you do not have to be tethered to your grill. It is accurate and has many great settings and features.

First off, if you don't have a Weber grill made to accept this, you'll have to figure out your own way to mount it that might not be easy - though you could just leave it laying out while using it. Bluetooth connection sets up pretty easily, but since you are probably connecting to your phone, you'll probably wander out of range at some point while cooking and it will disconnect. The problem I find is that it doesn't always reconnect and when that happens, I have to power cycle the unit to get it to connect again. So, plan to just leave your phone someplace within range while grilling. My other problem is with the alerts/alarms. Both the app and the device sound these alarms so I will tell you about each of them separately because they don't behave the same. The first use you might want is using a probe as an ambient temperature probe to tell you when your grill gets up to temperature. For me, that would not be a precise temperature but a range - but don't be fooled into using the temperature range for this because it will immediately start sounding an alarm saying the grill is out of range and if you cancel the alarm, it just starts again, over and over until it gets to temperature. So, instead notice that there is an option to set a single temperature and use that to preheat. But, that will alarm then if temperature wanders by over 10 degrees, so if you want a wider range (because most grills are hard to keep at a set temperature, like when you open the lid) you'll need to change to a range of your own picking. And about the audible alarms... I hear them all the time while I am sitting there looking at the screen, but when I set the phone down and walk away and the screen is off, then there is no alarm! I haven't figured that out, and that is really the only time I NEED the alarm - when I'm not looking. Duh. Then there are the alarms on the device itself. They mostly seem to match what happens on the phone. However, at least a couple times every grilling, the alarm on the device doesn't stop when I stop it on my phone and there is no place I can find to stop it, so I end up having to power cycle the device again. So, all told, I'm not sure this is helping. I spend more time trying to get it to work than it saves me from watching the grill. I guess it gives me something to fill the time with - though at least once it distracted me and I over cooked the chicken. Oh, and about the temperatures... all the chicken options are 165 degrees - not sure why they have 8 different kinds of chicken with all identical settings that you cannot change. By the time you respond to the alarm at 165, your chicken will probably be coasting to 170 and be dry and overcooked. So, you might want to create an "other" setting that lets you adjust the temp to suit your preference and response time. In summary, this works but you are probably best just watching the probe temperatures and not using all of the "Start Grilling" functionality. It is just frustration.

The item it self is excellent and very useful. BUT it say that it is supported by some models of the Webber family well it May Day that but in reality it maybe NOT supported. In my case it was not and the cables are lose and are in the way and are makeing it hard for me to use my veil proberly. Bottom line Excellent product BUT I could have done the same job with 40€ not 200€ since the product is not combatible (meaning there is not slot) even though they advertise my model as supported by this thermometer.

To be honest, I was pretty lousy at grilling, even though I can hold my own in the kitchen. Everything I grilled was usually overdone. This changed all that and my steaks and pork loins turn out perfectly, or at least perfect for me. Using the app on my Apple watch means I don't have to stand around the grill waiting for things to burn.
