I didn't realize how much I needed the plastic tub until I bought it. I use it, of course, for sous vide, but also for quick thawing frozen meat. In less than an hour I can thaw out a 10 lb chuck roast. You would be surprised how handy it is. A great addition to my kitchen Hardware.

I have read that the lid may not fit as advertised on all tubs but I have the 12 quart square Rubbermaid container my lid fits perfectly. I did have to change which corner of the tub I put my Anova sous vide machine in but that is the only "issue" I've had with the lid. I'm very satisfied with the product.

I bought this lid to go with the Rubbermaid container and it fits perfectly. I like the hinge on it as well. My Insta pot immersion sous vide device fits in the hole with a small gap remaining that can be covered with a dish towel. This helps minimize heat loss. The hinge makes it very easy to check water temperature and rearrange the sous vide bags if needed without having to take the whole lid off and remove your sous vide device. I wasn’t sure if I wanted a hinge in the lid, but now couldn’t imagine NOT having a hinge in the lid. there does not seem to be any discernible heat loss through the hinge itself.

I can’t sing enough praises for this kitchen gadget!!! In fact, calling it a gadget is almost an insult to the device! I had been hearing from many friends that sous vide is the way to go for cooking meat. I didn’t believe them. I mean, come on...boiling meet? Gimme a break... But I broke down and bought one. I just couldn’t take their ranting over it. I had to see what it was all about. Well, this little device came packed in a really nice storage box. I mean, it felt almost Gucci. So I unpacked it, read the really thin manual, installed the app on my phone, vacuum sealed the tri tip (fabulous cut of meat and cheap), put the sous vide in the container (any will do, but I spent the extra 20 on a container made for the sous vide), put the 10 liters of water in, preheated and put the meat in for 2.5 hours at 145 degrees Fahrenheit. Well, it didn’t look like boiled meat. The reason why is because the meat is actually separated from the water. In fact, it actually bastes in its own juices because of the sealed bag. And you cannot overcook it, as in burn it. It’s weird to describe. A hot tub for beef? Almost stewing, but not? And with any cut, you keep it in the water long enough all the connective tissues will break down and you might end up with something closer to pâté than steak. Anyway, I pulled it, took it out of the bag, put it in a cast iron pan and took a blow torch to it to give it the charred look on the outside. I let it rest. Then I cut into it. Every part of the interior was a beautiful pink and so juicy. Then I tasted it. Meatgasm. I will never grill a steak again. Get one. You know you want to.

I Just love how they all fit together and work well together. Professional level gear for professional results! And it wasn't that much more money than the walmart junk.

We got this lid as an add-on for our existing 12 Qt Rubbermaid sous vide container, and it fit perfectly. Previously when using the sous vide, my wife would just cover the container with a bunch of towels to help keep in the heat, but this lid provides a much more secure cover, and prevents the towels from accidentally falling into the water. Our sous vide fits perfectly in the corner, and still allows the water to flow properly. This also allows us to keep water in the container for a few days without worrying about something falling into it. My wife was almost as excited to see the little booklet that came with it, showing all the other cool Everie products she could buy for the sous vide. :) If nothing else, it'll make a nice gift list of things to buy in the future.
