This sketch book is a pleasure to use. The paper has a nice tooth, very useful for graphite pencils. I especially like the large ring binding which makes turning pages behind very easy. Erases well, good off-white color. Recommended by both myself and Bugs here.

I spend about 80% of my waking hours outside wandering around in the woods, and even though I have a good camera and lots of trail cameras to capture wildlife on, I still feel the need to sit and sketch a pretty plant or bug now and then. I don't want to lug around an easel and a huge box of paints or colored pencils, but a few basic pencils, pastels and this small pad fit easily in a fanny pack so I can just grab my kit and go when the mood strikes me. The only other stuff I need to make a day of it is a water bottle, a bag of dried fruit and nuts and my best doggy buddy, Ivy. As for the sketch pad ... aside from being small and lightweight, it is of sufficient quality to capture the gist of whatever I am sketching so I can transfer the details to larger and better quality paper later on. I think of it as a kind of visual notebook for documenting the natural world "in the moment". Best of all, it only set me back a fiver!

I love the size of this sketch pad. It’s 5.5” X 8.5” and has 100 sheets of very fine parchment for my sketches. I like the size of this one because I can carry it around with me, either in my purse, or my backpack. I have a pencil container that holds my graphite pencils, and erasers. I love the large spiral ring that allows each page to move over so that I can begin drawing on the next. Even if the previous page has a lot of paint on it, you can still turn the page over and have room for more sketches, paints, or watercolors. Just writing about this sketchbook makes me want to go wondering and see what I can find. I would love to do a watercolor from a nature sketch. I think that’s what I will do.

I'm not an artist, but my young daughter is an aspiring one. She likes this sketchbook because it is portable. She can easily carry her pencil bag and this sketch pad when on the go. When she used Master's Touch water-based markers, the ink bled to the back of the paper but not through to the next page. Her Posca 5m markers didn't bleed at all.

This is impressively good paper in a superb size, with beautiful surface and tone. It's ideal for graphite but has enough texture for charcoal and pastel. The given weight of 68 pounds is probably accurate, it feels lightweight but with a body and finish that is usually found in much more expensive papers. The measurements include the spiral binding and the perforations, so if you detach a sheet at the perforations, it will be 7.75 inches by 5.5. Many paper makers do that, it's not unusual, just good to know if you plan to create a frame-worthy piece. More likely, this will be your sketch and practice pad, and it is more than good enough for that. The price is a steal.

This is 100 page sketchbook with perforated pages so they can be detached. The paper weight is fine for sketching - 68lb/100gsm, and the surface is nicely textured and not smooth, perfect for sketching. The paper itself is not a bright white, but slightly off, which I don't mind at all, but some might. The only quibble I have is the top cover is very thin, just slightly heavier than the paper itself. The bottom is a sturdier cardboard and I would have like to see the cover the same. But no stars off because this is a nice sketchbook.

This hits all the great notes of a high-quality sketch book for a very small price. * Excellent spiral binding.. nice and large diameter for easy turning of pages * Sturdy cover material gives it just enough backing to resist over flexing while in use without adding too much in terms of weight. * Good quality 100gsm acid-free paper in a nice neutral light tone. Plus they are micro-perforated for easy/neat removal from pad. Overall, very pleased with this. One note of complaint - the product page literally states that it's not suitable for watercolors but shows an example of watercolors being used in the images on the page. As always, errors on product page cost review stars.

A good everyday sketch pad for the boys, who really seem to appreciate a smaller work area. It is a great size to tuck into a backpack and the weight takes markers well (their medium du jour). Youngest LOVES that the pages tear out evenly and smoothly. I think the price is excellent!
