- Kristina2024-06-07Comfortable play clay, for modeling, clay animation shorts, refills for board games and more
This type of clay is non-drying which means it will last for years as long as you use clean hands and a clean surface while molding and making things out of it. Sometimes dough in games gets old, having a block of this to refill your board games that don't need specific colors will replenish the crummy crust doughs that once were usable. The clay will be reusable for years to come as long as it isn't dropped in dirt or used with filthy hands. Get the most of it by washing your hands first before use and wash the surface area intended to use it on like a table or clean mat bring out some cookie cutters rolling pins and other clay tools to make whatever you want, take a picture or make a movie out of it. You can even use it to make molds with found objects (that are clean) pull it out gently and pour in epoxy resin with embellishments of choice to create unique treasures and art pieces that are one of a kind. Then when you pull out the dried piece, clean up any residue left behind before balling it back up to store it in an air-tight bag or plastic tub. 2 pounds looks like a lot more in the picture, but when you receive it, it is about two handfuls and then some in size, I am letting you know so you won't be disappointed. There is quite a lot there and plenty to share with a small to medium size family or daycare. If sharing with a classroom, order a few of these blocks. It is most pliable when it is warmed up in the hands. Do not microwave. If it's in a sealed bag or plastic container you could set it in the sink with hot water for a few minutes if the clay is too hard to manage. The more you play with it the warmer and softer it gets. The clay is made with non-toxic materials, and free from allergy ingredients, gluten, latex, eggs, dairy, nuts, and other sensitivities listed on the page. Even though this is non-toxic it is not edible and should use caution around children under 4 years of age who might try to eat it. All young children should be supervised when using clay. Clay can be a useful tool for artists, creative play for children and teens, replaces old dough in board games, enhances imagination and tactile use, impressionable prints, for photography, and used as molds. The price is reasonable, for a two-pound block.
- Jay Barron2024-06-10Perfect for sculpting and making original parts for mold making.
This is not just plain, children's modeling clay, although children can definitely use it. I got it because it is sulfur-free. This is important because I do a lot of molding using both tin and platinum based casting rubber. Sulfur will inhibit the curing of casting rubber; tin based especially. The first thing I tested was the clay's ability to form walls around a part I wished to cast. I had absolutely no problems, the silicone casting material cured completely. This is also excellent for making an original part, such as an arm or leg for a figure model. It holds detail extremely well and if you cool it a bit before casting, the detail will reproduce clearly. It can be worked using simple sculpting tools and even on a pottery wheel. You get two pounds of oil-based clay, sort of a tannish grey in color. If it seems too difficult to work with, either kneed a small amount before using, or warm it a bit. I have a home-made clay box that has a low wattage bulb inside that warms the clay to the perfect temp for working. Seams and cuts can be smoothed with a moistened finger. Works incredibly well with silicone sculpting tools. It has almost unlimited uses; even something as simple as adding a little weight in the front of a plane that refuses to stay on a front-wheel tricycle landing gear. Believe it or not, it can also be used for one-piece casting! Roll out a layer, dust with baby powder to leave a very light coating, and press the part in. Immediately remove the part, cool it a bit and pour casting material directly into the mold. Once it cures, it is ready to use. (This technique doesn't work with two sided molds, but it works 9 out of 10 times for a one cast part. Being oil-based, it will not air dry, nor can it be fired in a kiln! Please re-read that last sentence! I've been sculpting and casting with oil-based clay since I was in my teens, and this is some of the best I've used. I try to do pros and cons in my reviews, but I honestly can't think of any cons! I guarantee, you won't be disappointed! Five stars!

Pepy Reusable and Non-Drying Oil-Based Modeling Clay, Cream, 2 Pounds, Long Lasting & Non-Toxic, Great for Kids, Beginners, and Artists, Perfect for Arts and Crafts Projects First impressions: Nice block of plastilina. The color is kind of a beige and it’s consistent across the whole block. The clay is pliable and dents can be made in it easily. Installation/setup: Use to make sculptures and copies of objects that will never harden and the clay can be used over and over again. Final thoughts: This kind of clay works great to make miniatures and then to make silicone molds from them. The clay can be reused after molding and used pretty much indefinitely. I got this to make sculptures, mold them in silicone, then pour them in acrylic. My plan is to make some flat sculptures with detail on one side to embed in some pours of acrylic to make fake stained glass. ⭐️1 star - I don't recommend it at all, poor quality. ⭐️⭐️ 2 stars - I don't recommend it, it has multiple faults, or a very high price. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 stars - It's passable, It has some faults but the quality is ok for what it is. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 stars - Product quite acceptable, it does what it promises. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars - Product that I totally recommend.
- Karen Bintz2024-06-28So good for rainy days
My family and I are quite happy with this non-drying clay. After kneading the clay in your hands or on a hard surface, for maybe 30 seconds, it becomes wonderfully plyable and holds its shape very well. My concerns are with the consistency of the clay as it is played with longer and longer. While it doesn't dry out, if you leave it sit out overnight and go back to play with it the following day, there is a noticeable difference in how much energy is put into kneading and sculpting the clay.
- fading swan2024-06-16Nice product for model making
This plasticine is very malleable and soft out of the wrapper, which means it doesn't take a lot of effort to condition it. It takes a lot of detail, and i could pat it really extremely thin before the edge cracked, which is really good. It does leave a slight but invisible residue on your hands which rinses off easily with soap and water. I selected this clay to sculpt originals and then cast them in either silicon, plaster, or CosClay so that I can make pressed duplicates easily. I'll come back and edit this review once I've had some time using this clay. I think it's a very promising product but pound for pound it's a little pricey. For $1.50 more I can by 4.5 pounds of Van AIken Plastilina. But if you don't mind paying a little more, I think this is a family business, so it's a good cause to support them. I would be interested in trying their air-dry clay sometime!
- FDK2024-06-27Good Plasticine
I've never used plasticine before and was really curious as to its uses. I love it! I can easily practice clay sculpting and make silicone molds. It does get a bit dirty because dust sticks to it, but I'm trying out different methods to minimize that. Eventually I'll get some more for larger projects.
- Buttercup2024-06-13Soft, pliable, and doesn't stick to tools!
The 2 pound Pepy Plasticine is about the size of a small brick. There are two separate 1 pound sticks in the package. It's an off-white oyster color. It's easy to pinch from the brick, is soft, pliable, and easy to work with. I used it to make an impression of a design and it was sharp and crisp. The clay did not stick to my tools. I'm mainly using it to hold parts together during assembly of designs and for mold making and for that it works really well! This is my first time working with plasticine so I can't compare it to other brands.
- Big Montanna2024-06-13Excellent clay
I love this clay. It is very easy to condition and work with. It smooths very easily and has a great feel to it. I like the color of this clay too. Ignore my horse sculpture, I know it's bad. This was just the first thing I did to experiment with it. I highly recommend this product!
- Maskedfaith2024-06-10Greatish
This Pepy Reusable and Non-Drying Oil-Based Modeling Clay did not come looking quite as nice as the pictures show. All the corners and edges were squashed in. Thankfully the plastic held. No drying out and just enough for small projects. Wish the packaging was better or came with a container for it.
- HockeyNJ2024-06-09Very Good Plasticine - Non-drying Clay
This stuff is great to have around for simple modeling, creating molds for casts, etc... This is a 2lb block, uncolored and wrapped in a cellophane type plastic. It would probably be best to store in a regular plastic zip-lock type bag. 5 stars because it's exactly as advertised, non-drying modeling clay. (It's plasticine.)
