- JayBee2024-06-27Melts nicely and its odorless
I was very excited to order this 16-ounce package of Froko Beeswax Pellets to make a set of candles. The wax is organic and odorless, which is perfect for when I want to add a fragrance. It’s off white in color to begin with, but hardens bright white, and can be used for a variety of things like lip balm, lotions, soaps, seals, and much more. I found it easy to work with, and the pellets melted nicely. This package allowed me to make two 7-ounce candles. Now that I know I like the properties of this wax, I’m eager to order a bigger size if available. If you’re looking for wax, I would definitely recommend you give this one a try. I found it to be excellent for my needs.

This is great for a craft project, using either a double boiler or a pot made specifically as a wax warmer. Add as many flakes as needed and heat - but not overheat as this can affect the integrity and handling characteristics of the wax. Can be used in candles (duh) and products like lip balm or other skin products. For those cheesemakers out there, you can melt wax and coat a wheel as an alternative to vacuum sealing to prevent surface mold growth while aging in a cave/fridge. Plenty of uses.

This beeswax feels a little plasticy in the hand, so not sure this is pure beeswax. The usual brand I use has a lot softer feel in the hand and will soften when held and become pliable, you can actually squeeze it between your fingers when warmed in your hand and has that warm honey smell. This stuff didn't have any weird chemical smell, but the batch I got didn't smell like warm honey either and it didn't soften when I held some of it tight in my palm nor was it squishable between the fingers, it tried to crumble and that took quite a bit of pressure to do. In a melt test of a small batch of the pastilles on a metal spoon heated with a low flame on a torch it did not melt very quickly, and took longer than expected to cool. I can still use this but I think I will mix it with another wax like soy, etc and make a candle or two with it. For the amount you get the package is too big. Product packaging could use to be reduced by half, we already have a plastics problem on this planet.

I tried this wax to make candles. I typically use either soy or a paraffin wax, this was my first time trying beeswax. It was great, the pellets melt quickly in the wax melter. It dyed nicely with both liquid dye and using color dye blocks. It gives off good cold and hot throw when enough fragrance is used. Interestingly, it does not smell like beeswax right out of the bag which makes me question if it's truly all beeswax. But it make a really good container candle so I did not fault it for that. It burned well. I'd recommend it.

I used them today to make a salve. They melted like I expected. There were no aberrant colors or foreign materials. The bag was sealed very well, and they worked exactly as expected. I feel confident in using these to create homemade items.

Wow, I am very impressed with these white beeswax pellets! They are definitely high quality, and work extremely well in my handmade candles. They melt quickly, cure well, and my candle don't sink in the middle like a lot of soy waxes. I highly recommend these beeswax pellets, and I will purchase more in the future.

Good pellets - quality is decent, I love the white natural versus the typical yellow. So far, these are working well in my balms and such, so I'm happy with it!
