I have been a cross stitcher for decades, but never really got 'into' embroidery stiches. I bought this thinking if I did not like it I would pass it to my daughter who does both. Everything is in a long box that shipped well. Hoop, thread, cloth with patterns drawn, instructions, etc. - everything needed to begin learning the different basic and mid-level stitches. I have not started yet, but I was very impressed by the completeness of the order. If you have a youngster or are curious yourself, regardless of skill levels, I would recommend this as a starting point.

Very proud of myself for learning how to do this! I believe my package came with some broken needles?? Some of them are missing the eye or just appear broken. Also, the video tutorials linked to YouTube can be a little confusing at times and I’ve had to look up the types of stitches elsewhere for a slower breakdown. All in all this is a very cute starter kit and I can’t wait to complete it!

I was so excited when I saw this kit because I really want to learn to embroider! The kit is great and includes everything you need. There are 4 levels of difficulty, each with its own printed cloth and instructions. Best of all, if the printed instructions are not enough, each level is also linked to a video on Youtube! I love that once I finish all 4 of the samplers, I will have labeled examples of all the stitches I have learned for future reference. There is ample opportunity to practice each stitch - so much so that I will likely not complete every example of every stitch because at least for the easy ones, I don’t need as much practice as the pattern provides for. I could see that being a bit vexing for a more perfectionistic person who cannot leave something unfinished - feeling compelled to complete 4 flowers, for example, when you can learn the stitches with just one. But luckily for me, I am not that person. One small complaint - while the instructions are clearly labeled with the color numbers for the different flosses you are meant to use, the flosses themselves are not labeled. They are each wrapped in a small blank piece of white paper - no color number or name. That means you have to trust your eyes to get the correct color. That could be challenging for someone with colorblindness, poor eyesight or bad lighting. On the other hand, the colors don’t actually matter. It seems like there is plenty of floss provided and you could really use whatever colors you want. Overall, I am super pleased with this kit and am excited to finish all 4 patterns so that I can master the craft of embroidery enough to embellish various articles of clothing and become the envy of all who gaze upon my glorious handiwork.

The samplers are cute and have a nice variety of stitches. The floss I received do have numbers on them unlike several other reviewer said. However, I feel the needles are poor quality. I will probably buy other ones. Also the instruction sheet aren't that great either. They spelled strand as stand almost everywhere. While not a big deal it shows lack of attention to detail. No where do they tell what stitches or colors to use on the pictures on the samplers. I have only watched small portions of a couple of the videos, but there is no spoken explanations. You just have to hope you can tell exactly what is being done. I am hoping when I get to the more complicated picture parts I can tell what stitches are used, better than I can from the pictures. Of course it is every individuals artwork, you can use whatever stitches you want. Overall for the price they aren't too bad and I think they will still be fun to do.

I use embroidery floss a lot but it’s usually to crochet tiny animals. So I decided to branch out into what it’s supposed to be used for and I wanted step by step instructions on how to do it. This has the four different levels of difficulty that seem to be really reasonably paced. Each level has sheet instructions as well as a link to their instructions on YouTube! So if I can’t figure it out on my own I can get more help there. I really love the texture of the fabric, I know these are just supposed to be practice rounds but the quality is so nice I may frame them all. All in all I think this is a great starting kid because it gives you EVERYTHING you will need to get it going including lots of extra thread needles for when I inevitably drop one or two. I think this will be a fun way to add to my hobbies.

I always wanted to learn embroidery, but my granny lost the ability to use her hands for this type of thing and now she's gone. When I saw this set, I needed it. I love that it allows you to learn the basics and then build on those skills with harder stiches. Now my daughter wants me to add some of what I learned to her jeans and some shirts. So glad I decided to give it a go with a kit like this.

I removed one star because the thread isn’t numbered. It says the number for each color on the paper for each kit but the actual floss isn’t numbered. It’s not super hard to figure out what the colors are but it would be nice to have them clearly marked.

The kit comes with everything needed to complete 4 delightful projects with difficulty levels of easy, normal, hard, and tough. Each project comes with its own easy-to-read instruction/stitch sheet as well as a link to a good 30 to 60 minute video for each project. I really like that this kit guides the user through a progression of easy to more difficult stitches. I also love the cute central images on each project that allow you to use the newly learned stitches. This is a nice gift to get for yourself or someone else who is interested in arts and crafts.

Nice starter kit. Small scissors didn't work, Needles bend easily, thread colors not labeled. For the price of $7, it was a good embroidery starter kit.

We love the kit but I have to use a different needle because the floss is too thick .
