I have been looking for a yarn bowl and stumbled across this yarn stand and decided to give it a try. I am so glad I did. It spins very smoothly without tangling and looks beautiful, like a work of art, would definitely recommend it.

I love the design and color, I needed something to hold the larger cakes. The magnet is strong and stand is really sturdy.

I use primarily plush yarn. This yarn holder has been wonderful to help me stay detangled and continue crocheting instead of chasing yarn tails. I have even taken the spindle off the holder and placed it into my to-go bag to keep crocheting on the road. It worked wonderfully well. I could place the spindle on the floor and crochet with ease. The company has been very responsive and offers an extra spindle just by sending them an email asking for it.

I wanted this wooden yarn holder for plying my hand spun yarn and feel that it will do this task easily. The holder was easy to assemble with just two screws and it came with a small screwdriver to complete the assembly. The magnets on the spindle and holder are quite strong and I really gave the spindle a lot of tugging to see how much it would take before coming apart. The adhesion is really good and this should suit me well. I will update my review if it shouldn’t work as well as I anticipate. There is also a card inside from the seller offering an extra spindle should you want one. I ordered this in the mahogany color and I can’t even tell that it’s made from bamboo. It has a nice color. My Amazon rating system- Five stars-Great item. May have a minor flaw that does not detract from appearance or function. Four stars-Great item. Flaw or problem more noticeable. Or, price may be high for what it is. Three stars-Good item. Has a flaw/problem that requires more work than should be invested in a product. Two stars-May be a good item with work. Or, doesn’t work for me but may for someone else. One star-Nope. Doesn’t work for me and probably won’t for anyone else.

So I had to return the first one since the pieces didn’t fit together. The 2nd one is almost a perfect fit and I am using it with success but they need to really come sure if the fit of the pieces.

I have a couple of circular knitting machines and often dealt with yarn that went scampering across the floor or managed to tangle itself as it unrolled. This is really helping with that problem and it’s fun besides. It was easy to assemble and the wood is of nice quality, smooth and evenly colored. It’s big enough to hold a small skein of yarn as it comes from the store and definitely holds a cake of yarn made with a yarn winder. The magnetic spindle piece slides in easily and spins freely, making it easy for the yarn to feed off and into the knitting machine. Knitting is now even more relaxing. There isn’t anything mechanical to break on this, so as long as the magnet continues to hold, I anticipate many years of knitting fun with this.

Very happy with this item. My wife has been wanting to try one for the longest time, but has never gotten one. We were both impressed by the protective shipping materials used, and the wood is without a blemish. Very smooth and well-sanded, and the mahogany color is great. The magnet is quite strong and this should work like a charm. She also wants to try it for rolling a commercial skein into a ball/hank, by putting the original skein on this, then winding it using a yarn winder. We think the magnet may not be strong enough for something like that, but will update this review once we try it. At any rate, this is a first-rate item and well worth the price.

Fast shipping, well packaged, easy to assemble. I have a 10.5 oz cake yarn and the magnets are very strong and hold the yarn in place without it falling off. It helps to have it at hand height for easy access and works great. I'm actually considering buying another yarn holder for my two-tone projects.
