Great size, but don't like the top opening to the side

This case is deep and has a lot of storage capability. I personally do not like how it opens to the side. It's an odd placement and it has allowed the top storage box to open various times and spill out all my brushes.

Holds all my Resin supplies perfectly

For people having issues with the flip top clips on the top of the box just sand them down a bit so they still clip and hold well. Initially they're practically impossible to open but once you get them open sand the plastic a bit until you don't need to ask someone with superhuman strength to do it for you. The case is overpriced, I won't argue that, but finding one this size with the available heigh below the lift out tray was impossible without sacrificing the handle, which is crucial IMHO.

    Large with hidden storage

This is one of the best storage bins I have found for art supplies. It holds a ton. The top of the bin even has a secret compartment to hold even more. I didnt buy this on black friday, just waited for it to go on sale and picked up for 16 dollars. I wish i had bought another. Its durable, holds more then I have, and its a lot of a paint, clay, pencils, brushes, has three airbrushes stored, glue, etc.. and still csn hold a lot more.

Lots Of Room For Almost Anything

I'm an illustrator and self-publishing author. As such, I often work as a vendor at comic cons and other events. This box allows me to bring most any media and tools that I need to work onsite. That means ink bottles, inking tools, an alcohol marker set, watercolors, gouache, brushes, templates, corrective media, pencils and more. As for the actual size, the regular sized ArtBin will actually fit inside the XL and come within inches of closing. It's huge and feels as durable as the smaller sizes. My only complaint is one you'll probably see in other reviews. I consider myself a fairly strong guy, but the top compartment can be a beast to open at times. You have to grip it just right. But that also means it won't be opening by mistake, causing you to lose your equipment. So, mileage may vary on that feature. At any rate, I highly recommend the ArtBin XL. I wish more stores would carry it.

    Love this

I started window painting for a hobby and it holds all my 8oz paint bottles and my storage jars perfectly! I liked this so much that I wanted to order another one of these, but the clear only came in the 17in version so I ordered that one instead so I can keep my acrylics separate and I can divide up all these paint brushes I have. (I have a lot) I have this filled with paints so it's pretty heavy and so far it holds up. I did place it on a nice rolling cart to help with the load tho. :). ****UPDATE 2/20/18: (I’m writing this half awake... Bear with me) I’ve had this for quite some time now and I still love it! I had it packed so heavy with just paint inside and all my brushes on the lid compartments that the handle came off on one side. It was a quick and easy fix; just pop the handle back in place. I suggest carrying this bin if it’s heavy due to the handle could pull out over the weight. This is still by far one of my favorite paint storages that I own to date! I have the twin top version as well and I like it just the same, it holds all of my special colors (metallics/pearlescent/neons or colors not used as often) and other mixed of acrylic paint colors and my small 2oz. tubes while this much bigger one holds all of my 4oz tubes of paint on the bottom while on the top holds my 22mL tubes and storage jars of some small tubes of paint, I emptied into, on the pull out tray. For the bigger jars of paint, I have my double deep satchel from artbin. I just really enjoy these products, made by artbin, so much so far. ❤️☺️👍🏼

    nice and sturdy

I use this to store my resin crafting stuff. I was using it for paint tube storage but found it a little too deep to keep things organized - so I'd say this is best for storing larger things (well, it is an XL after all). Don't stash a ton of little paint tubes in here otherwise they will disappear into a black hole. Feels very sturdy like you could carry this around and throw it in the trunk of your car, etc.

    Large and sturdy sewing box!

I searched for months after my sewing box broke and this ArtBin SideKick XL is just what I needed. It is extra sturdy and has ample room. I did purchase a storage tray for the bottom and I already had two other trays from my broken sewing box to stack as well. It all fit perfectly. The only negative is I have yet to be able to open the 2 storage compartments on top of the lid. It will take a tool to pry them open. Otherwise, I am very happy with my purchase and it’s well worth to the money spent.

Perfect box to carry all my stuff

I purchased this item to carry a small compressor and supplies for use in my airbrush tattoo business. Although this is not the only box I use, I am pleased with it because unlike my other boxes/cases, this ArtBin has ample capacity to hold my compressor with extra room so i was able to put even more things in it (and that is just the large bin at the bottom of the case). The pull out tray is very convenient for carrying smaller items you don't want rolling around in the base of the case. The extra storage in the lid is also convenient and has dividers to keep the many smaller items you will carry organized. The case itself is made from a hard plastic and the handle is large and comfortable to hold. The overall quality of the case is good considering the price, and I expect to get a few years of use out of it. I have a mobile business, so I will definitely put the ArtBin to use. The only thing I would change is to have both sections of the box open in the same direction (the upper part opens at the front, but the lower section opens on the left side as shown in the picture). This is minor I know, but when in use, the different directions of the case opening can be inconvenient.

Great for an average art paint collection

I used the clear large size for over a decade for my acrylic artist paints and found it slightly too small after upgrading my long handled brushes and added a couple acrylic mediums too. This fits my 32oz jar of gesso, 20+ tubes of paints and a handful of mediums with plenty of room left. The top compartment is difficult to open but hopefully it loosens up with use.
