This is a nice glue gun, comes with extra glue sticks but it didn’t come with the battery needed. You’ll need a 12V dewalt battery to use it.

This is the most convenient glue gun I've ever owned. Usually you're tethered to wherever the electrical outlet is but with this you can move from one location to another very easily. It works perfectly with the battery I already had for my DeWalt drill set. Not having a cord that gets in the way is great and it still warms up in just about a minute and is ready to use. The power indicator light is also good so you can see if it's still 'on' to save battery life in between jobs. This is a great tool if you're working outside, in an open area or up high and not close to an electrical outlet.

Beyond expectations. Used it with my smallest DeWalt battery and it lasted for hours. Got super hot and is perfect for anyone who does PDR.
- JustAReview2024-06-24While it works well, it will completely drain a battery
The unit itself is very basic but works well. I used an older 1.5 amp battery and it ran for an hour. The included glue sticks are half the size of what you will purchase in a store so the “10 glue sticks” are actually 5 full length sticks. It is a basic unit. It heats, the glue stick melts. You need a 2nd glue stick to push the remained of the first glue stick into the heater. It has a power indicator light. When placed on a flat surface with the battery, it leans a little forward which is a good thing. Like all glue guns, it will drip when heating and not in use but the drip is very minor. Much less than other glue guns. One word of caution is that this unit will completely drain a battery. For anybody who works with battery operated tools, you may have experienced being unable to charge a fully drained battery. This is normal and typically you can “jump start” a battery from another to give it enough to be able to charge once more. There needs to be a limiter on this unit so that it will not fully drain a battery. This is a common problem with 3rd party tools, lights, etc. That is the only issue I had and after jump starting from a good battery, the 1.5 amp was able to charge itself once more. Nice glue gun. Very basic and with common glue gun and 3rd party tools. But it does a good job.

- Frequent Prime Customer2024-06-17Easy to use; clean operation; no auto-shutoff
This is a review of the glue gun. The listing is for two very different items: the glue gun and glue sticks. This is an Amazon problem exacerbated by the vendors who take advantage of the ability to select color or size variations to sell totally different products under the same listing. Stop that. I would rather spend $3 extra for an auto-shutoff feature than to risk ruining a $40 battery, or at the very least having it run down inconveniently. The preheat only takes two minutes so a 15-minute shutdown time might be appropriate, combined with low-battery detection. At least the indicator light is fairly easy to see. The flow is easy to control and stops when it should. The silicone boot on the nozzle helps prevent "strings" and also provides heat insulation. There was no problem with drips from the nozzle when standing, just a small bead that formed on the tip after several minutes that wiped off easily. The housing does not get dangerously hot. It feels balanced in the hand and stable when standing. It's larger than those tiny hobby-store plug-in glue guns but the size complements the battery and it is much easier and safer to use.

I don't understand the need to zip tie them all in bundles. They are not double a normal size glue stick either. I would say they are about a glue stick and a half. So the amount is a little misleading for the price.

With school out for summer, my daughter is in full-on crafting mode, and that means she's using up my hot glue sticks, so I was happy to see these show up. There's not a whole lot I can say about glue sticks. These ones are nice and clear compared to the ones I currently have, which are sort of a milky off-white. These glue sticks are indeed 0.43" in diameter, but mine measure out at 5-7/8" long rather than the advertised 6" long. Not something I'm too fussed about, but I figure you should know so you can make your own decision. Other than that, these are your run-of-the-mill glue sticks. I view them as sort of a commodity, so it pays to shop around for the length, quantity and price that you need.
