I’ve tried this backup camera from Auto-Vox for a week and have been happy with it overall and would recommend it to those who need a affordable (it cost around $110 at purchase), solar powered and easy to install wireless backup. I’ve had other models and given ones for family from AutoVox in the past couple of years and have been happy with them all. 

This is a newer model (2024) of the solar wireless model that now comes with a waterproof rating (IP69K) but otherwise it’s inline with their other current solar model besides it lacking a night-vision/infrared feature like that one. You still get a decent night vision due to cars back lights. The biggest advantage of this model, besides the feature of solar charging panel, is the easy wireless installation. This means you don’t have to run any wires from the camera to the car’s electric system like other models. The solar charging feature means you also don’t need to manually recharge the camera like another Auto-Vox backup camera I had in the past. 

The camera’s quality is solid (seems to be 720 possibly?), it connects well to the monitor. The camera also has a nice feature of being able to turn off manually if you’re not planning to use for a long while. 

One con of this camera, and other similar mounting pad-style monitor cameras, is that the monitor can tend to fall off under hot weather and if not put on tight. It can be easily put back on and it helps to clean the windshield and mount (can use dish/hand soap to clean this) and use the clip mechanism. This hasn’t happen besides once but so far it’s staying on since then.

Using this backup camera has been great. It didn't mount perfectly to my license plate bolts, but I got it to work. I have an older truck and that may be the reason. Either way, it easy to install. I charged the camera per the instructions and then installed it. The sync to the display monitor was instant. The image quality is decent. It's not 4k, but it is not supposed to be. I can clearly see everything behind me. A cool feature of this camera is the swivel head. I am able to tilt the camera down to see the hitch when connecting to a trailer. The system came with a sticker to help connect the mounting bracket to the vehicle, but I didn't end up using it. Nice that it was included though. I am able to connect the camera with a 20ft trailer plus the distance to the cab. The solar charging will be nice. I can't tell how quickly it charges or how much each day, but I like the fact that I don't have to recharge it after x amount of uses. The settings for the display are simple and nice. I am able to flip the picture if I need to mount the camera differently. Then I am also able to choose the image duration. I can choose 60, 90, or 120 seconds for the camera to stay on and then it turns off. A simple push of the button on the front of the outlet turns it back on.

I have an older car that doesn’t come with a built-in backup camera. This product solves my need for one and installation is easy. Signal between camera and monitor is strong. There is no video delay, which is crucial for safe operation. Solar charging is a great feature, since I mostly park the car outside in the sun. You can also install it as a front camera if you prefer. Overall, I recommend this product!

I purchased this camera to put on my daughter in laws SUV, her camera from factory quit working and this was a quick and easy fix to the problem, the display is only 5” so it is easy to find a place to sit it and it is plenty clear and she said better than the factory and the backup lines she was impressed with. Mounting the camera was so easy, I initially charged the camera before putting it on with the license plate screws which can’t get much simpler! The solar charging for the camera so far is working excellent. Nice to have a compact camera system that is efficient and doesn’t cost a lot of money. She is super happy which makes me happy! So far she said the signal is good and has not failed to connect and she likes she can hide the monitor when she parks if she needs too.

I have been using autovox back up cameras for 2 years now and this one just adds to how good they are. The ease of install is game changing and the picture quality it amazing. The price is complimentary to the quality and is definitely worth the purchase.

I have used Auto Vox cameras in the past and they have proven to be very good and useful products. This camera is no exception. It is super simple and quick to install and does no exactly as advertised. The picture quality is good and makes backing up much safer providing a good view of the area. I mounted this one on a hitch carrier I use on my truck. The cargo on the carrier blocks the view from the factory back up camera but this camera makes it possible to see what is behind me. I recently used it on a nine day trip and the solar charging system kept the camera fully charged the entire time. The screen is plenty large enough to provide a clear view and yet is not intrusive when mounted on the dash. The variety of mounting options this camera system has makes it very versatile. If you’re in the market for a backup camera this one would be a great choice.

I loved the easy of installation. Mounted to the bottom of the license plate. Trunk handle is on top. Very clear image and strong connection. Installation instruction were clear and concise. I would recommend.

I had purchased my first Wireless Backup Camera and had some issues - which turned out "not" to be anything with the unit in any way - however I "thought" it was something with the unit and contacted the support team who immediately and with sincere interest in "customer" service - got back to me and walked me through checking and when I realize it had nothing to do with the quality of the unity - their support continued to be there for me... and ever since the unit is working perfectly and is really a great rear camera for my car, as the year and the model of my car doesn't come with a rear camera so I'm greatly pleased.... So knowing a good product and more - knowing the manufacturer and support team stand behind it and are quick and sincere to provide "customer" service - I've now purchased my 2nd Wireless Backup Camera I can comfortably recommending purchasing a Wireless Backup Camera from this company

What a great camera! So easy to install. I got this for my daughter but haven’t put it on her car yet. I took it out to show it worked and all I had to do was plug it in and it worked immediately. The view was a little blurry BUT I forgot to take the protective cover off of the lens. It’s really dark out but I thought this was a good view. But forgot to take a picture after removing the plastic lens cover. Oh what a good view it was then. Oh and I had it sitting upside down on the back bumper to see how it worked. This is the best one that I have found.
