- Lauren A.2023-04-09INCREDIBLE PRODUCT, OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE
Initially, I was a little skeptical about how well this would work, and was really concerned with how expensive it is. But, I am extraordinarily happy with the purchase. It is extremely sturdy, very well made, easy to use, completely safe and absolutely crucial to have when my parents fall and can't get back up - even with my help. The first time I used it, I was shocked by how well it worked - and how quickly and easily I was able to get my dad up and into his comfortable chair. I can say with complete honesty and gratitude that I have used this chair dozens of times and no longer have to risk injury (to my parents or me) when helping them up. And, more importantly, my parents don't feel as embarrassed or upset when they fall, they don't have to wait around for me to find someone to help me pick them up - and they no longer feel like they are 'burdensome' in any way when they fall. (This is huge!) I no longer have to run around to see if a neighbor is home (to help me), nor do I have to call 911 for help (if nobody else is around.) AND, my dad is beyond THRILLED to be able to take a bath again - rather than only have a sponge bath. To me, this chair is very worth every single penny. The home healthcare professionals that come work with my parents (nurse, PT, OT, etc.,) had never seen a chair like this before, and asked where I got it. They took pictures and short video clips of the chair and how it works so they could share them with their other patients -- and with their companies. I have to say that this is a game changer for anyone that takes care of a loved one that may need some help getting back up after falling, and/or for those that have difficulty getting in and out of a bathtub and want to be able to take a bath again - easily and safely. Also, if you talk to your parent's/loved one's PT or OT - or even their primary care physician, you may even be able to have healthcare insurance, Medicare, Medicaid (etc.,) pay for it. I have to share one more thing that I consider to be extremely important - perhaps THE MOST important part of my experience buying this chair. My mom has dementia and cut the cord that attaches the "remote control" for the chair to the charging component. So, there was no possible way that we could use the chair anymore, as it is powered by the remote control battery. As a result, I emailed the company, explained what happened, and asked if there was any possible way that I could buy JUST a new remote control and charging cord - instead of having to buy another full chair, just so I could get the remote control/charging cord. Shockingly, I received the most beautiful, kind, supportive return email from the company, the very next day. The email began by thanking me for taking care of my parents and acknowledging how difficult it can be to do so (on many different levels) - and so many other wonderful, supportive things. Then, they told me that they had ALREADY put another remote control (and charging cord) in the mail, and that they were happy to replace it for free. Sure enough, within two days it arrived - and I was able to use the chair perfectly again. I don't know how many other companies would replace an integral component like that for free - especially when the reason their product no longer works is 100% the customer's 'fault.' (I've certainly never had any company do such a thing.) Moreover, I am STUNNED by the beautiful email/message that the company sent me - it was not some sort of quick/canned response. It was so kind, loving, supportive, and heartwarming - it literally brought tears to my eyes. The message was highly inspirational, and said ALL of the things that caretakers want to (and SHOULD) be told - but NEVER ARE told - for all of the time, focus, energy, effort, patience, care and love they provide - and the sacrifices they make on a daily basis - in order to give their absolute best to their loved one, when the loved one needs it the most. Yet, this company said it all --> and MORE. I am extremely thankful that the company created such a wonderful, important product - especially one that nobody else has made (at least I hadn't seen anything else like it - despite thoroughly researching products for months - when I bought it.) I HIGHLY recommend this product - with ZERO reservations. It is a game changer, especially with respect to accessibility, safety and care-taking in general. Believe me. You will be thrilled that you bought it. Words cannot adequately describe how grateful I am to the company for their kindness, compassion, empathy, understanding, support, generosity and, frankly, their humanity. I would not hesitate - even for a second - to buy ANY product from this company in the future. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH, MAIDeSITe

Got this for my mom who has had a couple of falls. It was reasonably priced, and I am very happy with the product. I hope it doesn't need to be used, but we have it just in case. This worked straight out of the box, no assembly, no charging (at least for a test). You charge the remote, not the chair itself, which is handy. To get a feel for it, we raised it all the way up and then lowered it. I lowers just as slowly as raising it. Then we raised it completely up, had mom sit on it, then lowered her to the ground. It should be easy to scoot onto, but because of her previous injury, we didn't have her try that. Then, we raised her back up, and had her get to a standing position with no additional supports or cane. The seatback leans back about 45 degrees as a way to ease onto the seat with the extendable wing flaps. Then, it puts you in an upright position. She didn't even feel the need to hold onto anything for balance going up. It says you shouldn't use it alone, but in an emergency I'm glad we have it. I can't speak to longevity, but we did purchase the additional warranty knowing it wouldn't be used very often.
- Amazon Customer2024-06-19This lift is awesome
My husband has Parkinson's and is at high risk of falling due to instability when walking and frozen gait. It's challenging to help him get back up, and at some point, he may not have sufficient strength. Plus, it puts me in jeopardy of injury, and one of us has to be fully functional! This machine is exceptional. I've wasted so much time, money, and energy on assistive devices to make things easier, and so often they fall short. This does not. It comes assembled. All you have to do is charge up the remote. The instructions are the clearest and best (and simplest) of anything I've ever gotten. The machine is so well-designed, sturdy - comfortable even! I don't want to have to use it, but I feel much better knowing we had it. Some design advice that would make it perfect would be a mechanism to lock it closed when folded and out of use, and wheels so it could roll rather than be picked up. But it still gets a 5* from me because it is really an exceptional piece of equipment that works beautifully.
- Pamela J. Peerce Landers2024-02-02Works Well but Heavy and Awkward to Carry
Got this to help my husband get up when he falls and it works well for that. What I like: 1. It does raise my husband to a height where he can stand up. 2. It charges rapidly. I used it the first day I go it after just 2 hours’ charging at which point it was fully charged. What I Don’t Like: 1. This unit is hinged and comes with no way to keep the two halves together as you carry it. This is not good since it is heavy and if one of the halves falls open it can damage whatever it hits including you. I am going to get a bungee cord to put around it. But, considering the price, the manufacturer should provide something. 2. When it is open for the person to climb on, the back rest leans back a lot past vertical. This significantly increases the amount of open space needed for this unit to operate (from the top of the back rest to the front of the seat). The alternative is to let the back rest lean against a piece or furniture or a wall. Be advised, if it’s a wall, it will mar the wall when it is operated. But the point is, unfortunately you cannot choose the area where your loved one or patient is going to fall and this unit’s spacial requirements can limit where you can use it. Because it does work well, I am rating it a generous 4.
- True Impressions2024-06-15Works great, but I don't recommend it for use without outside assistance
I have used this several times to get my mother back up after she has fallen. This lift chair works great to get a person back on their feet, HOWEVER, it needs the operator to steady it until the person being lifted is off the chair. I would never want the person being lifted to do so on their own. Their are suction cup feet, but in order to work, they require a smooth surface, so they won't work on things like carpet or aggregate concrete, but I'm not sure how effective they would be anyway. So I just trust myself to steady it while lifting my mother. It definitely has made things easier on my back while getting her back up.

It came pretty much assembled. Tried it out and it worked perfectly. I have MD and fall and can't get up. This chai lifts me up about 20 inches, enough to get me back on my feet.
- SheShopsSales2023-10-09If you can't decide, order it...
I ordered this chair for my mom, because we can't get her off of the floor when she falls down and EMS was going to start charging us for having to come out over and over to help her get up. This chair was a Godsend, as the chair will raise her up high enough that she can stand up. Basically the chair sits flat on the floor and has suction cups on the bottom to keep it from sliding around. The person has to be able to scoot themselves in front of the chair and be able to push themselves up onto the chair. The chair is about an inch and 1/2 in high, so it does take a little hand/arm strength to push yourself onto the chair, so please be aware of this. Once in the chair, you simply press the button on the heavy duty remote control and the chair moves up to a normal sitting position so your loved one can stand. The chair is also rather heavy, so if you don't have someone to move it to where you need it, when you need it, you will need to dedicate a place to leave it permanently set up. It is not huge, but it's footprint equals that of two normal dining room chairs. The chair made of heavy duty plastic and vinyl. It is easy to clean and has a carry handle for moving the chair from place to place. The chair also has side boards on each side of the seat for transferring the person from the lift chair to a different chair. The chair also has a pretty high weight limit on it as well, so it will work for most of us plus sized folks. This chair is a great way to make family members, who can't get up on their own, feel independent again. Even if they need a bit of assistance getting into the chair, it is so much better than the hassle and embarrassment of having EMS come out. It is also much cheaper. If you are hesitating, get it. It is worth the money and the peace of mind.

I bought this for my mom as she slid out of her hospital bed and chair a few times. This morning I used it for the first time. Getting her on the life was easy and it worked without a hitch. I could then transfer her back to the wheelchair and then into bed. Quick, easy and good for my back!

I got this lift chair for my aunt who has some mobility issues. Not only has this chair helped her on many occasions, it's also helped get my dad up from a few falls as well. He was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma and it was found, and affected his spine. For a long time he was unable to help get himself off the floor after a fall and this chair was a god-send! We love the ease of use and portability of it! It's also come in handy when my other aunt who suffers from alzheimer's disease has a fall. We can just pack this up and take it over in a matter of minutes to help my uncle pick her up! I highly recommend this chair!
- James Martino2023-11-25It makes baths possible again
I was originally looking for a lift to assist picking up my wife from the floor after a fall. I found this lift on Amazon and viewing the video, I thought it might work well for that purpose. When we received it, I set it up right away to try it out. There is some charge in the battery so I was able to test it right away. It is about 3 inches off the floor when fully lowered, so I still need to be able to get my wife up onto the seat from the floor. In the video, the user had enough strength to lift himself to the lowered seat. My wife doesn't have that strength, so I will have to lift her onto the seat, but it is much better than trying to lift her completely from the floor. The chair lift will raise the person from the floor level to a seated level. The user would have to be able to stand from a seated position at chair height. But as a care giver, this is much more practical and manageable. There are wings on each side of the chair to aid in transferring the user from the chair lift to a chair, bed or even a tub. As I was reading the instructions, it mentioned to not leave it in the water when not in use. It wasn't clear to me that this was submersible and could be used in the tub. When I read the description on Amazon, I missed the bullet point regarding using it in the tub. The instructions show measuring the tub to make sure it fits, but the instructions do not cover it's use in the tub. Not sure if I was assuming correctly, I emailed the company. Cecilia responded very quickly and confirmed that it was designed for use in the tub, and she let me know that there was a video on Amazon about using it in the tub. I had two more questions after that and each time Cecilia answered very quickly and was very friendly. Until now, getting in and out of the tub is very difficult and dangerous for my wife, as she has little strength and balance and stepping in and out was too challenging. This chair is designed so that you can sit on the chair from outside the tub and swing your legs into the tub while seated. Then the chair lowers the person down into the water. You can raise or lower in and out of the water as needed for bathing and rinsing the various parts of your body. When the bath is finished, you can raise back up even with the side of the tub, swing your legs out and stand up on a secure rug or mat on the bathroom floor, without having to try to stand in the tub and step over the side of the tub. The controller is rechargeable and unplugs from the chair so that it can be charged away from the tub. The chair and the controller are both waterproof, and the connection plug appears to be sealed also when plugged in. The bottom of the chair has 6 suction cups so that it doesn't move in the tub. I did find that to take it out of the tub, as you to unseal each suction cup one at a time, they tend to stick back down when you go to the next one, so that was a bit challenging, but I figured that if I put a towel or washcloth under each suction cup as I pulled it up, that wouldn't be a problem. It is rated for up to a 300 lb person. I weigh 270 and I have tested it and it doesn't have any problem lifting me. Even though I bought this lift not knowing about its bath uses, I know we will get a lot of use with this chair lift especially for bathing.
