Perfect replacement for my DEWALT sander. Seems better than the original. Backing plate is metal instead of plastic and the foam pad feels denser.

These 5” random orbit sanding pads are a perfect replacement for my orbital sander. The backing is made of sturdier/ heavier metal material than the original so will probably last considerably longer than the stock ones. Fitting it on my sander and screwing it down took a little finagling but not much trouble at all. Very happy with these!

I ordered these by mistake without realizing they were for a DeWalt sander. I was needing some new backing pads for my Ridgid sander and thought these looked very similar and were a good deal for a 4 pack. Unfortunately after getting them in the mail and comparing to my sanding pad on my Ridgid sander I realized I had messed up. Despite my mess up in ordering the wrong pads, these sanding pads do seem to be decent quality. I like the metal backing plate, although the finish around some of the holes is definitely rough, like the metal was torn when it was punched out. Getting a pack of 4 sanding pads for $15 at the time of review is a really good deal, replacement pads I have purchased in the past were around $15 for just 2 pads. Unfortunately since I do not have a DeWalt sander I don't have a way to test these at the moment. I do plan to get one in the future though and will test these out once I get it.

These sanding pads fit my Craftsman corded orbital sander perfectly. Just unscrew the four mounting screws to replace, and you're back in action. The original had a fiberglass base, and these pads have an aluminum base. The aluminum performs as well as or even better than the original. The hook and loop on these pads attached easily and hold the sanding disks very well. And they haven't let go yet. I do some larger sanding projects where I tend to push a bit too hard on the sander for extended periods of time, and the plastic on the pads gets too much friction and ends up wearing out (melting) the hook and loop. So I need a few back-up pads to be ready to go when needed. These pads work like a champ. They perform well and as long as they stay firm and hold on to the sanding disk, I have no complaints. So far, these are really good replacement pads.

I ordered these for my little 5" Dewalt orbital. The pads have velcro over padding over a metal plate that is screwed to a disc in the sander. The stock pad has a plastic plate. The screw holes in these plates and the the stock plate are a little small because the screws threads contact the sides of the holes. The screws need to rotate freely in the plate holes so that you can line up the threads with the threads of the holes in disc. The disc is plastic and will strip out eventually if you don't get those thread lined up before you drive the screw home. All that means I had to drill the holes in -all- the plates a little larger. Easy. I attached one of these pads to the sander, tested it, and then left it on because there was no point in putting the stock one back on. The velcro on these pads isn't as course and strong as the velcro on the stock pad, but is working fine.

I have 2 dewalt sanders, figured these would work for both of them. My sanders are a little older, and only take 3 screws on the replacement pads - these use 4, so they don't fit. My bad for not checking before ordering. However, the quality seems to be exactly like the original pads. The velcro worked well with the sanding discs I have.

Seem well made and should last for a while.

fit perfect, no issues, lower cost than OEM these get dinged up and your sand job can suffer, most people forget to replace parts as often as they should, me too.... great value, recommended, 4.5 stars
