I bought this for stitching low tops and hemming long pants and it works wonderful for both
- Christopher2024-06-30A handy tool for TEMPORARY fixes, NOT touching skin
Just to be clear, this stitcher inserts small plastic tag holders, like the kind that hold item manufacturer’s info and price/UPC code. I would say these are probably smaller than most retailers use. It is PLASTIC, not fabric. It would be ideal for adding a quick hem to pants or gown the night of an event, but not a permanent solution. I don’t think the description is as clear as it could be on this point. Of course, attaching labels is another function it excels at. It comes with an extra needle and many black and white stitches. It’s easy to use.

Brilliant! Not a seamstress, by any stretch, but need to pin things often that just don't fit quite right. This little tool is going to stay within arms reach of my dressing room!

I have never ever seen one of these before so I was thoroughly intrigued. I had no clue how to use this and fortunately another reviewer showed a demo. It’s actually very simple. The needle comes already inserted. You put in one of the plastic threads into the tool and stick the needle through what you need adjusted and pull the trigger firmly all the way to the end and release. Out comes a plastic bit that connects two sides together. I don’t have a sewing machine and they’re too expensive for me to invest in so I thought this would be a decent alternative. I decided to take in some pants at the inseam because they were too wide in the leg. I successfully took them in, the pins feel secure and work with denim very well. I was easily able to cut them when I made a mistake. I can see the length of the pins towards the top of the inseam by my knee because the jeans are more taught but I don’t feel they would become undone and I don’t care that they’re slightly visible. If they were blue, they’d blend in better but it’s not a concern for me. Additionally, the tool jammed a few times so to remedy this, I removed the tags and took out the needle and readjusted it and it fixed itself. I find putting the needle in a correct position and locking it to be a bit of a challenge but I’m not too worried about that. For thing fabrics, you may wind up with a hole if you end up pulling the area with the tag too hard because these are really sturdy and the fabric will definitely give out before the tag does. Supper awesome tool, I’ll totally be using this for all of my simple adjustments
- Road Warrior2024-06-01Great for tacking pieces of cloth together
Since I didn't read the description of this item as carefully as I should have when ordering it, I'm going to start by clarifying what it is just in case others considering it make the same mistake. This is NOT a stitching tool for sewing seams, etc. It's a tacking tool to bring two pieces of cloth (or other materials like paper or plastic) together loosely. Think of it like the device that attaches price tags or other labels to new pairs of socks. A thin, almost invisible piece of plastic with a "T" at both ends that keeps things together. Once you get that basic understanding right, it's got a wide variety of uses and works well. (If this was really obvious to you, forgive me, but I'm not always the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to these gizmos...) The Fine Stitch Micro Mini Stitch Tag Gun is very useful for a variety of clothing projects and I've been impressed with its ease of use and performance. The package comes with two needles and a generous supply of 2000 black and 2000 white micro fasteners. The black and white options help you choose the one that will be most invisible for the purpose you've selected. The gun itself is compact and easy to handle. It operates smoothly and efficiently, allowing me to tag garments quickly without causing any damage to the fabric. The needles are durable and sharp, ensuring that each tag is clean and precise. The fasteners, while thin and almost invisible, seem quite reliable and do not break easily. This is particularly beneficial for those who need to tag items for sale or use it to label the contents of cloth bags. Overall, I found this to be a useful and practical tool for its intended purpose. The price is on par with similar offerings on Amazon; many of which are a buck or two less expensive. It combines efficiency with user-friendly design, making it a nice addition to any sewing kit. If you have need of such a tool, I can confidently recommend this one.
- Alisaurus2024-06-02Tacking and tagging
I chose this Micro Mini Stitch Tag Gun to use with the hats and stitched goods that I sell at my craft table. It's simple to use and easy to add tags to items. Simply add the tag to the fabric and pull the handle. It also works to keep sets together as long as they're not too thick since the tags that come with the gun are pretty short. However, I don't see why you can't purchase longer ones. They'll probably work in this tag gun as well. Overall, this is a simple versatile machine that can come in handy for many uses from temporary hems to adding tags, combining sets and other creative uses. However, for the price I'd look at others and assess whether this will meet my needs and budget.
- Berkeley customer2024-06-14Handy tool if you know what it can and cannot do.
There are other excellent reviews of this Mini Tag Gun, particularly the informative review by Road Warrior, so I will not repeat that, only add some additional observations. The plastic mini fasteners that come with the tool are 5 mm long and the little T ends are 2 mm long. That means that whatever you fasten can separate loosely up to 5 mm. The mini fasteners work like miniature versions of the T shaped tag holders that often come on clothing. They do not hold objects together tightly like staples or bar tacking would. The fasteners are light and easily removed with scissors when desired. The fasteners are not strong enough to hold up to any real pulling or strain. They are best used with medium weight fabrics, not thin silk on the one hand , or thick webbing on the other. You have to be able to insert the needle completely through both pieces, fabric or paper, being joined. They are better used for temporary connections than permanent fixes. I doubt that the connections would hold up to frequent washes in a washing machine. With understanding of those limitations, this easy-to-use tool still has plenty of uses.

We do a lot of yard sales... with games and clothing. People love changing price tags or removing price tags. Some people love to cheat. Using this machine solves the problem of price switching. If the tag comes off intentionally or not we then just look the item up and re-price it, It is going to save more than we could imagine. Now dealing with counterfeit money and outright stealing. Just more and more part of life these days. Anyway, tons of other uses with this Tag Gun. We tag card board boxes with information and prices. Tag clothing for sewing, Tag multi sheets of vinyl and paper. Many more uses. We have different length tags for different uses. Great Tagger (lost our old one)
- Alte Soldat2024-06-02Interesting Tailoring Gadget
This is a (usually) fun and helpful gadget for hemming in items. It's very simple to use, see a video that another reviewer posted here. My ONLY complaint was the number of jams that occur. It does get a tad tiresome, but then again, I'm no tailor, so was likely adding a lot more work than necessary. All in all though, this is a good item to have around for emergencies.
- Bezoar2024-05-25Handy tool for temporarily tacking down clothing.
The tags that come with this gun work like a short (5 mm) version of the nylon tags that affix price tags to clothing. With them you can temporarily tack down hems, collars, or any other item that the needle will penetrate. The gun is easy to use. Just load it with a strip of tags, push the needle through the items you want to tack together, and pull the trigger. The gun pushes one end of the tag through the item while the other end stays on the original side. My wife used it to temporarily hem up some pants to keep them from dragging on the ground. It worked well even though she thought the denim might be too thick. The gun jammed during one attempt, but it was easy to clear. The current price of about thirty-two dollars seems a bit steep for a simple, lightweight, and mostly plastic device. However, it does what it is supposed to do, and the price seems in line with similar products.
