I'm a fan of silicone tape. It can be used for so many things, like emergency vehicle repair. I carry a roll in my Jeep in case a radiator hose or vacuum line breaks. I use it for electrical tape in a pinch. It'll hold leaks in pipes. It can even be used with a bandage. Like duct tape, everyone should have a roll of this handy. This is pretty good quality stuff. It adheres to itself well, a solid amount of stretch, and while I haven't had it long enough to comment on the longevity of repairs, from using silicone tape in the past I fully expect it to be comparable. This is good stuff at a good price, and I recommend! *Note: to anyone not familiar with silicone tape it does not contain adhesive and so doesn't stick to objects. It bonds to itself, so when you wrap it around something it'll seal.

The Aisrida Self-Fusing Silicone Tape is the most amazing product I have seen in a very long time. I didn’t really know what to expect when I ordered the silicone tape. Even when I opened the package I was puzzled. Here was a thick roll of rubber feeling substance. Has a plastic protective sheet on one side. I cut off about a 3” piece for testing. It had no sticky feel at all! Neither side, even when I removed the plastic from one side had any sticky feel. The strip is very stretchy and very strong. Then I wrapped it around my finger. WOW, does this stuff stick to itself. I wonder if you could seal a hole in a water pipe with the water still on? Pull it tight and wrap over itself and it sticks. Another fantastic part is you can unwrap it and use it again. I can see so many uses for this product. It looks so neat and secures so well. Yes, I think when history looks back Aisrida Self-Fusing Silicone Tape will be recognized as more versatile than duck tape.

I've tried hockey tape and that stretchy stick-to-itself bandage tape and this wrap definitely wins, hands down. I have a few tools (hammer, mallets, wrenches) that need either a bit of cushioning, a little thickening, or a bit of better gripiness, or a combination of the three, and this stuff is the best I've used. Only time will tell if this stuff will stand up to rough usage and the heat of my workshop, but so far, so good. Sticks to itself well and adds a good amount of grip. It's been only a few days, but I don't yet see any sign of unwrapping. Wish I'd found this wrap earlier. Took about 2 feet of wrap per item (I did a lot of overlapping) so maybe use that as a yardstick for how much you may need - this 10' roll should be enough for 5 tools. I'll probably come back for more when this roll is used up. It's good stuff!

I'm new to silicone self-fusing tapes. So at first, I have to admit, I thought I got a defective item because it wasn't sticky at all in a traditional tape sense. Upon doing a bit of research and realizing that you need to tighten it quite a bit and wrap on itself, it holds amazingly well. It is also very strong: I cannot break it no matter how much I pull (I got the thicker 1mm variety). For final test I decided to wrap it around a hose that was slightly leaking. I wasn't expecting much, but it turned out it worked great and in hour+ there wasn't any leakage. My only disclaimer is that the surface you're applying it too must be clean and ideally dry.
- SadSack2024-06-18Just what your ham shack needs...and useful in many other scenarios
I use this silicone tape to wrap coax connectors which are outside in the weather on antenna feedlines. It does a wonderful job and if you need to remove it to work on the feedline is can be easily sliced with a razor and comes off cleanly. I recommend it over the butyl wraps that many use because that stuff can be quite difficult to remove. If I am setting up a connection that will be exposed to weather for an indefinite period I like to lather on some silicone caulk over this tape and it seems to work quite well while still being easy to remove if needed. Of course it is great for sealing leaks in all sorts of drain lines around the house as well.
- Rick in CA2024-06-14Top shelf quality silicone self-fusing tape
Since I discovered the usefulness of silicone self-fusing tape, I have tried different brands over the years. Some tear easily, some do not self-fuse, and some do not have adequate stretch. The ones that have all the qualities are ranked #1 and go on the top shelf. The ones that meet two out of three criteria are ranked #2, and are kept in reserve. Ones that fail all qualifications get thrown in the trash. This one meets all three and is ranked #1, goes on the top shelf. It is so strong than I cannot tear it by hand. The harder you pull, the more it just stretches. It fuses to itself so strongly that it is impossible to peel it back off. Expensive but well worth it. Once I start running low I will order some more. Recommended.

This is a black roll of silicone tape approx 1" wide by 1/16" thick with a plastic film on one side to keep it from sticking to itself. I would not use it to repair potable water pipes but it would probably work well on plastic landscape water pipes if you put a tightening clamp over it after applying.

I love these tapes. It does do as suggested. It Will stop leaks, but you have to put the tape on correctly and quite a bit, but it will work.
- schmitty2024-06-19Good silicone tape
I keep this in my travel trailer for emergencies in the water system. I recently had one where the pipe under the sink started leaking. I was able to use this as a temporary measure until I could repair it. It held up under the pressure and was easy to use. I would recommend.
- Kindle Customer2024-06-20Self-adhesive means that it sticks to itself, not surfaces
This tape has a clear plastic backing on one side. That is the side that should be placed 'down' and then the tape should be overlapped as it is wrapped around a leaking pipe, for instance. The tape is not sticky in any way until it makes contact with itself by overlapped wrapping. Good product to have set aside for leaking emergencies and can also be used for other types of repairs.
