Given as Gift, friend loved it!

This item is used, not new! It did not come in the original plastic wrapping like others I purchased elsewhere. Also, there are NO tags on it! Very disappointed!

I love Vera Bradley products and this doesn’t disappoint. The price was better than anywhere else by far.

Taking this on a trip to Hawaii. I like that it folds up small to fit in suitcase. You can’t go wrong with Vera Bradley!

I packed this to use as a beach tote when I went on vacation with my daughter's family. It was easy to unfold and had plenty of room for towels and other supplies. I even used the attached pouch to "hide" some things since when the pouch flips over inside the bag, the opening is upright and hidden. At the end of our vacation, my daughter used the tote as a carryon for the souvenirs her family bought.

It's rare that my wife (and I to whatever degree I contribute) do not find a Vera Bradley bag to be anything but a 5 star bag. In the case of this Vera Bradley Ripstop Packable Tote we both feel like it's a solid "good" bag, but not exactly the "excellent, 5 star" we are used to. This Vera Bradley Ripstop Packable Tote is something worthy your consideration, but it's not on par with our other VB finds. 1. The bag comes 100% folded up and in the carrier that serves as a potential pocket. It's a nicely packaged and small set up, meaning you can tuck it into your suitcase or carry on for when you need it. 2. It's decent getting it back in the bag. It took my wife a few practice tries - and nothing goes back in like it was before it came out - but it is possible 3. The colors are nice and bright. Not exactly one of her (our) favorite patterns, but for the beach or pool it works. (but yea, we've liked others more). 4. The material is different from other VB bags - of course - better suited for getting wet (we did not test) or brushing off sand. Our cat's fur tufts have not stuck to it, so that's nice, nor has lint, so again, nice. As with all VB bags, the construction seems spot on and should last. But the material... it's good, not great. It's good for it's purpose so we can't knock it. It should work fine in that way. Just to the touch it's of course more utilitarian than "oh, feel this." 5. There is a single outside pocket of decent size. None inside we spotted, beyond the one you could use from the "pouch" it comes in. This pouch is attached to the inside of the bag, so it stays with, and while upside down, it could be used to hold things. 6. Inside compartment, which is a single, large space, seems decent enough. For photos to show it "fluffed up," we included a single, lap blanket at 63 X 42 inches - meaning it's a good size that filled the space, but showed it should handle a good amount of things. That said, we have 2 other beach/pool bags we already use on a regular basis. My wife saw this and of course - it's Vera Bradley - wanted it. We will get some seriously good use out of it, but it IS smaller than the two others we use. She will primary use this for the pool - especially on trips. We do not take the others - which always hold our pool, some beach gear - but this one she can fold up into the suitcases or day bag and have for when we're at a hotel - as we won't need to bring towels or extra towels the size is fine. She says it would be fine for the pool in our community, but we usually wear our towels there and back - and would be in addition to our beach bags for more gear. In other words, it's not as large and not as much gear as we usually have with. In the end this IS a good bag and one we will use. It'll mainly be for our travels - easy packing and a nice grab and go bag for the pool or beach on a trip. Also thought about putting in our day bag for those "extra's" that sometimes come up and you need another bag. The pattern isn't a favorite, but it's fine. And the size is smaller, but again, for the trips we take, it should give us what we need.

Really nice, portable, durable bag made from what feels like thicker than usual polyester rip-stop fabric. Gives the bag a slightly rubberized feel that also makes it water resistant. Pattern is pretty subdued for a Vera Bradley bag, and I like it. Handles are a good width and thickness, and long enough so I can sling the bag over my shoulder. A top zipper closure keeps contents secure. There is a little zipper pocket on the outside as well for safely keeping things like keys in easy reach. The storage pouch is part of the bag, and when the bag is unfolded the pouch becomes an interior pocket to store small things in and has a snap closure. Unfolding and refolding the bag and stuffing it back into the pouch is an exercise in patience because it's a tight fit either way. If you have similar bags and are used to refolding them so they go back into their pouches, you'll be fine. Otherwise, pay attention to how you unfold the bag the first time as this is the action you need to reverse to get it back into the pouch. The price tag of $45 is rather high for a water resistant tote, but this is an instance where paying premium for a brand name comes into play. The bag is well made and of typical V.B. quality, but so are a lot of bags from lesser known brands with the same features that run half this price. One thing I don't like about this bag is the big white label that is on the pouch the bag folds back into. Check out the second from the lop listing photo and you will see what I mean. At first I thought it was a sticker I could peel off, but nope. It's permanently screen printed on the fabric. Others won't see it when the bag is unfolded as the storage pouch is now inside the bag, but once you fold the bag back up - there it is. A big, blatant, ugly label that screams this bag is made by Vera Bradley. I don't think I will ever fold the bag up into the storage pouch again. Did the label really need to include the dimensions of the unfolded bag? Did it really need to be so dang big? Did it need to be on the pouch/bag at all? A smaller label with the Vera Bradley name and the "packable tote" line would have been so much better. This....this just looks cheap. Maybe they don't think people will fold the bag and tuck back into the storage pouch ever again? Aside from the giant unnecessary label, this should be a bag that is up to years of use. That label, though....

Attractive floral pattern, pretty colors, and nicely constructed, good zippers, waterproof material. All that is good, as one would expect from a Vera bag at this price point. It’s puzzling, though, why the inner flap is sewn in backwards — I realize it is supposed to serve as a container into which the bag can be folded onto itself and re-packed ( with difficulty), but in this position, the opening is backwards and it makes it difficult to use the inner Flap as a pocket. There’s a second zippered pocket on the outside, but the inner flap would have been quite useful had it been more accessible. You can’t simply drop something in, you have to reach under and behind the flap in order to reach the opening. Very awkward, tho I suppose it might deter pickpockets! Similarly, the “Vera Bradley Packable tote” advertising is actually stenciled onto the bag itself and it makes it look very cheap. What were they thinking? Every time you open the bag you’re confronted with what looks to be packaging promotional material, but it’s actually part of the “design”. Big mistake. Most people will not make the considerable effort to fold and unfold the bag with each use, and you don’t want advertising and bag dimensions staring you in the face every time you use the tote — a removable paper insert would have been a much better idea! So, it’s a useful bag for beach and picnics, and I plan to use it at the farmers market to carry veggies. It will fit into a suitcase nicely. I’m not sure how strong the straps are ( my other farmers’ market bag claims it can hold 60 lbs, but this gives no estimate as to weight allowance. Maybe it’s just as well … they might have stenciled that info onto the bag, as well. Edit: I’ve since figured out that you can turn the flap inside out so the advertising is on the inside of the pocket and the top opening is where you would expect it to be. That wasn’t obvious at first - and it certainly improves the appearance of the bag. It also gives you access to the snap closure.
