I have a divided sink and originally was planning to use this on the side that does not have a garbage disposal but I've changed my mind and will be using it on the garbage disposal side. It fits just perfectly and does a good job of holding the water and when I need it too and I store it under the sink when I don't need to fill that side up with water. Much cleaner and more professional looking than just using a flat rubber tub stopper on that side. I also like how fast the water drains through it and that the mesh basket catches so much kitchen gunk. I also like that you can stop or drain the water even if the mesh basket is not on the stopper itself.

The only reason I took off a star is because it was a bit pricy at $17. I hope this will last me at least a few years but it is too soon to tell. I wish it came in champagne gold to match my kitchen but I have not seen any sealing drain strainers in that color as of yet. More colors options, please!

I bought one of these a few days ago and it didn't work- when it was set to hold water it didn't. The water leaked out almost as fast as the sink was filling. This one isn't like that. Just remove the metal basket and push the button to seal the sink. The water level goes up and stays there until you push to release the gasket. Everything is metal except the plastic/rubber gasket that seals the sink closed. Someone else too a star off because they said it was $17. Apparently the seller listened because I paid $10.

I wanted a way to cover the disposal opening that still let water drain through it so that no utensils or other big items would fall into the disposal. This strainer works perfectly. The stainless steel matches my sink. You can easily seal it closed so it can hold water. The little strainer basket is easy to grab with wet hands. Very glad I got it.

The product arrived well packaged and in good condition. It's a two piece unit, with the bottom portion having a nice seal within the sink drain. The upper is the strainer which slides right over top of the base unit. To stop the water from draining, you simply push down on the center of the strainer to stop the water (you can feel it click in). Push again and release to let the water drainSuper simple and seems like a good quality product.
