This thing is VERY well built. the magnets are strong, the grips hold their position, and most importantly I LOVE the pointed PCB holders. I've used other helping hands units in the past and most of them make me want to throw them out the window, but I'm sticking with this one. The base is attractive, doesn't slide on the table top, and has a decent amount of working space. It's a great addition to my electronics bench. I bought this for my office, but I'm getting a second one for my home workshop as well.

Very good quality for the money. Base is heavy and sturdy. Parts seem well made and I've used it a few times now. Arms will not hold much weight individually though but it's meant to be used soldering smaller electronics so I'm not concerned.

I would buy another one. This one is quite nice. I like the adjustable clamps and the bendable arms. They hold well and work great. I've done dozens of soldering jobs on the vice already.

For what it is, this is great. The magnets are very strong and hold well to the base. The ends of each of the arm's however, are not. The clips are loose and require a lot of torque to hold in place. The clamp rotation will work itself loose as you adjust the clamp down. I will continue to look for alternative things to add to this, but for now, it's functional (and holds my camera well)

This product was constructed and designed with quality parts. The base is solid, appropriately weighted, balanced and the arms are sturdy and have a high degree of marksmanship. I really love the kit. This is an amazing 'helping hands'. The manufacturer even provided extra bits. Even the clips have rubber grips!

This product is top shelf. I’ve had several that have two arms or three arms and they usually don’t really work that great they were out and get loose fairly fast, not this one. This is definitely the best one I’ve had, works awesome! Definitely worth the money. It will save you headaches for sure!

It works great, holds wires very well, it came with an extra alligator clip and thumb-screws, that is nice. The base is surprisingly solid and heavy! Great purchase!

This is a very handy tool when it comes to soldering electronics . It is a must have if you find yourself soldering wires to circuit boards and wishing you had a third hand . There are a few downsides to this tool however - A couple of the flexible arms are not near as tight as the rest so they tend to not want to stay where I place them , also the alligator clips that come with this are just the worst made cheapest alligator clips I have ever used . Very disappointed with the alligator clips to say the least , just go ahead and replace the With any 2” or 51mm alligator clip when you get this .
- Soprano2021-12-01Arms (hands) aren't magnetic
I purchased this to use with my macro photography. I should've read the description more carefully, though. I thought that this product has magnetic arms, but it doesn't. The arms (or hands) screws into the base. They're very secure and easily adjustable. I just wish the arms were magnetic and could be easily removed. I also wish the base was a little wider. Overall, though, it's a great product and has worked well for me.
- Ace2019-04-23For the cost, it seems like there would be at least crude assembly directions.
Looks like a neat little gadget. Base has some weight to it so stability should not be a problem. No assembly instructions but it wasn’t that hard... if one finds it difficult to assemble, then probably doesn’t need to be doing things that would require this tool. Even received an extra alligator clip. I do wonder: when using for soldering, would the heat transfer melt the rubber coating in the clip? May not be a concern for an expert solderer, but that’s not me.
