- RedXepher822022-09-06Works well, does require a good amount of setup, gets rid of deadzones
The first thing I will say about this is that this does require installation on the roof. This is not something you can just plug in the house and it is good to go so be aware of that. You need to actually put this on the roof for the best signal boost. It has all the tools you will require. This device work great once you actually get it installed and working. One thing that you may need to do is finding the right spot for it when putting this device together. You may need to do a bit of trial and error unfortunately to get the best signal position. Another thing I would say is if you are not good with drilling this probably will not be as easy for you as there has to be a little drilling to run the cables to each other. You can go around this by possibly installing it through the window or such but this does require wire to run from the antenna to the booster. They are not wireless. The antenna and cable are both meant for outdoor usage so you do not have to worry about any weather damage. The cables are pretty thick so they are not easily frayed or damaged even in hotter temperature. One thing I do is place the booster inside a bit further away from my router/modem as it reduces that chance of any signal interference from the main internet unit. The cable length is pretty long so you do not have to worry about not having enough cable length to reach the antenna above the house. It does come with all the screws and accessories you will need to install the device but you will need your own tools. It does not come with that. Another thing I would also plug the booster directly into the wall if possible for best results as for me it seemed to have issues being used on a surge protector. Be aware that this indoor unit of the booster does run a bit warm so make sure it has properly cooled room and not left in direct sunlight. The antenna is not too heavy so it can be a one man job to install on the roof but use your best judgment. The antenna is not directional so you do not have to point it at anything. Unfortunately the antenna adjustment can take time to calibrate and adjust. The main box is very simple just place into the wall via hanging or on a table and again these wires are shielded so they will be okay outside but not the actual device. It does boost the signal significantly in my opinion and it does exactly what it is suppose to. My house has significantly better signal all around. There are no longer any dead zone in my home and in my opinion the signal is ten times better than what it used to be. Overall this is a GREAT way to get rid of dead zones in your house but it may not work for everyone. It all depends on if it is able to pick up the signal from the roof. This can take several hours to make the adjustment. It also requires a general understanding drill and running wires safely through the house.
- Jack H2024-01-25Fairly simple to setup with the right phone. TOP NOTCH tech support!
First of all, the device just works. It's not a gimmick... The intent was to use this as a mobile installation that I could quickly setup and take down when in more remote areas. It was not a permanent installation at a home, though it certainly could work well for that purpose. I also took it with me on a weekend camping trip with "the guys" in the middle of nowhere and they were all amazed that they were able to get actual signals strong enough to stream low-quality video where we had ZERO signal before. One guy had a car-mounted WeBoost unit that couldn't do anything in our situation (middle of a national forest in northern LP Michigan), but this unit did great! I bought my unit in Nov 2022, but had some issues with using the SignalBooster app on my primary phone. I made do with using the LCD display on the device to check the signal levels and make my antenna adjustments. After a few months, I was tried to set it up the installation using the SignalBooster app with a different phone, and it worked. But I didn't want to keep having to have 2 phones, so I reached out to tech support to get some advice. I was contacted directly by Noah, who was amazing at trying to help. I explained my issue and he said that the early revisions of hard did have some connection issues. He offered a choice of partial refund for the inconvenience or he would send me a new hardware revision and a return label for the old unit. ***This is where things get weird*** I received a new booster within a week, as promised, but it was a different booster entirely (the white one). The connections didn't match (terminals were much smaller and wouldn't work with my cables). I notified Noah, who contacted the warehouse to send out ANOTHER unit. Again, I received the wrong style...Noah was so apologetic!!! He then sent had the warehouse send the "correct" gray unit, which I received, but had the same issue...and was determined that this was AGAIN the old hardware revision. Noah tried one last time to send the correct one from the warehouse, but they sent the white one again. This seems to be an issue with the warehouse being used for returns and not indicative of the normal order process and service. I ended up telling Noah that I was happy enough with what I had, and I appreciated everything he had done, but I didn't want to keep wasting his time. Since I was able to use a different phone to connect, it seemed to be an issue with my specific phone (S22 Ultra) and not the device, I felt bad about allow it to drag out. I'm still amazed that Noah was so willing to go through all of the effort and make so many attempts to please a customer! I've not received that level of service for anything EVER!. If I ever have another need for one of these devices, I know I'll be going through Zorida again. THANKS NOAH!
- Amazon Customer2023-12-07Great product, improved my cell signal strength
I purchased this product to improve the cell signal in my home. Prior to purchasing the product I would have only 1 bar for a signal and I would miss calls and drop calls at a fairly routine basis. I got to 4 bars after the install. My goal was simply to improve my cell phone calls. I was not concerned about data speeds since normally I am using WiFi for that. The product is well built and looks to be of high quality. The installation does take work (this would be true for any other products as well). You have to install an outdoor antenna which means you need to mount it outside your house and also you will likely have to drill through a wall to run the cable inside. I recommend installing the outdoor antenna as high as you can and to NOT have any obstructions in the way. The one complication I did have with the install is they recommend that you use a third party app called "Opensignal" to help you determine what direction to point the antenna as the app helps you find the best cell tower for you to use. The app did not work for me. It always simply said "No cell tower located". I tried the app at other locations (not just my house) and I still got the same result. As such, this made the installation a little more complicated. Without using the app, you can look at the base unit to see your signal strength coming in but this requires two people (one to adjust the antenna and the other to look at the base unit). You can also look at other third party sites to find locations of other towers to help you. The instructions could provide some more information. As an example, even though I was unable to use Opensignal, I found the locations of cell towers in my area. The instructions should suggest how to think about what type of tower to point at. Should you point to a 5G tower or 4G? How should the installer make that decision? Another area that would be helpful is you are provided with signal strength for 4 different frequencies (LTE700, Cell800, PCS1900, AWS2100) but they don't tell you what they are for. Obviously you can look it up on the internet (which I did) but it would be helpful for them to explain what each frequency is for and if you are trying to solve a certain problem (like in my case I cared most about voice calls) which frequency should you look to maximize. Sometimes one frequency will go up and the others go down when you adjust the antenna (not materially at least in my case). I just kind of went with which position got the the best overall increase. Bottom line for me is the following: I went from 1 bar on my phone to 4 bars on my phone when near the indoor antenna. It would drop to 3 bars when I was a room or two away or on a different floor in my house. The system allows for an additional indoor antenna which I am going to get so that can place them at different places in my home. I have not gotten that yet, so I can't comment on its effectiveness. Overall, this is a high quality product and I recommend purchasing it if you cell signal reception issues in your home.
- TUK --2023-06-27Fascinating product, is technically what I was looking for!
After going through a catastrophic hurricane (Ian) in South West Florida, cell coverage became an issue. With no electricity two issues became apparent quickly, no Internet, no cell coverage. Purchased this item for the latter. So, It is one of several backup plans. In the mean time -- The Cell provider I have a data plan with is already spotty coverage (1 bar) on a fair weather day. I work from home and calls drop consistently if I am not stationary during the call. Since installing the Zodiac Cell Phone Signal Booster, I noticed an immediate improvement in cell bars. Since there is an outdoor and indoor antenna, I notice a boost in up to 4 bars in most cases and 2 or 3 bars depending on how far I am from the inside antenna. No dropped calls. I have tested with bluetooth, WiFi and a 5G hotspot. They all show improvements. Since I am still testing areas around the house so that the final connection plan is still in progress. I'm able to determine that it is working (my main concern was if it works). The Tech Support is great! I understand Internet protocols and various software/hardware protocols and still had plenty to learn. The tech support spent a dedicated amount of time to fit troubleshooting in between both our schedules and was very friendly, offered solutions/ideas. I Highly recommend this product and kudos in the support area. I gave a 4 star and not a 5 star because I believe a product should have a good 3 - 6 months minimal burn-in time. Since, It is less than my stated burn-in time, I still gave this product 4 stars and wanted to ensure I mentioned that the tech support is fantastic as well as the product performing to my expectations. Sorry I don't have pictures indicating mounting and the software may show a little high on the gain side, it is not indicative of the product, more about the work in progress.
- R. Brown2024-07-02Rural area prayers answered for the Internet
I have bought two of these and installed them in rural areas homes. They are dependable easy to install and maintain. They are an absolute must for rural areas with out choices for the internet. No more 100’s of dollars to Hughes Net and other high priced providers. This gives you a choice. They work beautifully as long as the cell tower is within 5 or so miles. They can reach towers future away but the view needs to be unobstructed and a taller mast needs to be installed.
- Dog Mom2022-09-16Installation is very straightforward, BUT it does require a lot of work-but the work is WORTH it!!
To begin, this unit is extremely well built using quality materials. And the performance when properly installed is spectacular. I purchased this for my son-in-law and daughter who live in a rural setting and have poor cell service. Installation is very straightforward, BUT it does require a lot of work. This is NOT just your plug and play type of unit. Yet, the work is worth your time in the end. Before this unit, their signal was hit-or-miss. It was very frustrating because 4G would come, and then it would go without anything to indicate why it was good one minute, then lousy for the next couple hours. Their home is about 5 miles from the nearest tower and their property has steep hills on both sides, so I wasn't really sure even this booster would help. I installed the outdoor antenna about 25 feet above ground on a mounting pole (NOT INCLUDED) and we attached it to the house's fireplace chimney. We pointed the antenna in the direction of the closet cell tower as instructed in the manual. I strongly recommend that you take the time to get the outdoor antenna aimed properly, I really think this is one of the most important steps!! So far we are very pleased with how this booster is working out for her and it has given her a much stronger signal!! Highly recommended.
- Michele Hutchek2024-07-10Doesn’t boost signal as described
We have 1-2 bars when outside and can make calls no problem. We installed device and it won’t boost signal as described as Hiboost say we need “good signal” to boost a signal. Which seems contrary to what it’s used for. Very disappointed and trying to contact customer service took numerous calls over several days, multiple emails, and messages in order to get any troubleshooting help. With no resolution.
- Edward Swift2024-03-19Works great, incredible customer support.
This booster allowed us to make drop free calls. Installation was relatively easy. The customer support team who will text with you is very responsive and knowledgeable and goes the extra mile to make sure the product works well for you. The booster is well made and comes with plenty of cable length and even a cable extension that allows you to wire through a window to avoid drilling into your house. Well worth the money
- Miss Scarlet B.2024-03-29Great product and excellent customer service!
Finally got to take this booster for a real-life test drive more than a year after purchasing it (in late 2022). I'm pleased to report that it made a HUGE difference! Definitely worth the investment. We go dirt biking and 4-wheeling off the beaten path, in state parks and riding areas that are full of crazy hills and valleys. Often there is little or no cell service. Or, we'll have service for one carrier but not another. We've found a favorite spot up on a ridge where we typically get pretty good service for the Verizon phones, but the AT&T phones are out of luck. And of course, if someone else already has our favorite spot, we're all out of luck. We got the ridge top this time and had a full day of experience WITHOUT the booster first. As usual, all the Verizon phones had good service -- even enough to run hotspots. The AT&T users had little or nothing and had to bum off the Verizon hot spots. The only thing I wasn't able to do on my Verizon hotspot was connect my Quest 2 VR headset...it could not "see" my phone and kept insisting that I had to re-pair. Oh well. The next day, in the exact same location, I set up the booster. I mounted the antenna up about 5 feet up on the flag pole (devised of PVC pipe) that we have on our RV and...WOW! Once we found a good direction to point the antenna (which understandably takes a bit of fiddling), the AT&T signal came through and the Verizon signal improved dramatically. I was even able to connect my Quest 2 without a hiccup. Obviously this is a YMMV situation (for the uninitiated: "your mileage may vary") because sometimes there's just not a cell tower anywhere within a clear line of range for the antenna to boost off of. For example, if you're camping at the bottom of a gully you're going to need a much taller flag pole to put the antenna on. And if you're surrounded by hills, you might be out of luck. But I'd have to say it's definitely worth a try, based on my experience with it. Additionally, customer service was great. Noah from support reached out via text shortly after I purchased the booster just to see how it was going. At that point, I had not yet tried it due to "life" getting in the way of getting out camping. Over the course of 2023, I heard back from him now and then. I kept having to say "No, haven't tried it yet..." and he even got to hear about a family emergency that took me out of state for several weeks and delayed yet another riding trip we had planned. By that time, it was "Hey buddy! Are you back from Arizona yet?" LOL So now Noah and I are buds and I'm VERY happy to say that, at long last, we were able to try the booster and give the product a rave review. As a point of technical reference: in this initial trial run, the antenna was about 5 feet above the top of the RV, which probably puts it about 18 feet above ground level. We have a couple more extension pieces for the flag pole that I will definitely try the next time we go out, especially if we end up in a gully. Great product, very happy. And a big Thank You to Noah! :)
- AV2023-03-24WOW. 2 Bars to 5 Bars
I am very impressed with this cell phone signal booster. I was a bit overwhelmed reading about technology that I wasn't familiar with and more than a little skeptical on its effectiveness after reading all the online reviews. But wow. I live in a semi rural area and am right on the edge of the closest cell tower reception area. Before the install I had 1 - 2 bars, occasionally 3 but basically unreliable cell signal inside the house and now I have 5 solid bars. I went from seeing the buffer wheel spinning constantly to being able to stream a movie in HD start to finish. Goodbye satellite internet and my land line is getting cancelled too. So here's some notes from my install. - make sure you can receive some signal outside your house before you buy, no signal - no boost - use the recommended apps to pinpoint your nearest cell tower to know where to aim your antenna - it saves a lot of time - - I used the FindTower (iOS) app to locate the towers and to ID the frequency the cell tower is broadcasting to ensure this kit works with that frequency before I bought it. - - I registered my kit online after I received it and gained access to the SignalSupervisor app from Zorida to fine tune the best signal reception. It worked great and made fine tuning the outside antenna easy. - plan your install, the amount of cable may sound like a lot but I had just enough. - make sure you install the outdoor antenna higher than the indoor antenna, mine was about 20 feet higher when installed on the roof - make sure you have adequate horizontal distance between the outside and inside antennas, I had 30+ feet - I used an old satellite TV mount that was on the roof to mount the outdoor antenna on and it worked great. - ***MAKE SURE YOUR OUTDOOR ANTENNA AND YOUR INDOOR ANTENNA ARE NOT POINTED AT EACH OTHER**** It will kill the effectiveness of the booster and you probably won't get a boosted signal inside your house. - I used clear silicone sealant on all my outdoor cable connections after I was happy with the install to keep moisture out of the cables. I wasn't confident on the longevity of the sealing tape being exposed to the elements long term that came with the kit. - make sure the amplifier (silver box with a LCD screen) is mounted in a location that doesn't get hot. A hot attic would probably kill it eventually. - I had some signal interference with my indoor antenna after I installed everything and I cutout a piece of aluminum foil the same size and shape as the indoor antenna to shield it. It solved the problem. I taped it to the back of the antenna so you can't see it when it's mounted on the wall. Looks good. - make sure you use a lightening arrestor ($13 on Amazon) to ground the outdoor antenna - Call Zorida with any questions - they were exceptionally helpful and it was an actual tech in Houston that answered the phone. This kit works great and the best feature is I am able to use AT&T and Verizon at the same time getting excellent signal on both. And Zorida Customer Service called me on their own after I registered the kit just to make sure it was functioning properly and if I had any questions. How cool is that? The hardest part was running the lines into the house. It wasn't technical, it was just locating the the spot in the attic to run the cables into room where I installed the amplifier and the indoor antenna. That took the most time with this install but I was particular to have as clean of an install as possible. Bottom line is i really love this kit. A friend is buying the same thing after seeing how much improved the signal is now. I would highly recommend this kit to anyone that is looking to boost their cell signal inside their house. One final note. Cell tower signal quality can fluctuate for multiple reasons. I am not an electrical engineer but suffice it to say, you might not get as great a boost inside your house when the signal from the cell tower is affected. A stronger signal may affect the booster system. I had a cloudy day with low ceilings and my unboosted signal outside in the yard jumped to 4 bars for a short time. During that time my boosted signal inside the house was still good, but it wasn't 5 bars. After the weather improved, my boosted signal was back at 5 bars. Somebody else more qualified may be able to explain why. I don't know. I was still impressed on the improvement of my cell service inside the house and it was only temporary. I may find my neighbors on my front porch using their phone once they find out how good the reception is at my place now.
