- Lauren Marie2024-06-12So far so good!
So far I have loved my ring! I’ve had it for about a week now, and the insights it gives me are great. I love how comfortable it is on my finger, allowing me to accurately track everything all day and night. I really enjoy the accurate step counts and the sleep score! Battery life is decent, I usually wear it for 2-3 days and then give it a little charge reboost. Sometimes I’ll just charge it when I get into the shower and it charges quite a bit for that 10 minutes. Still figured out a lot of the other features, but overall I prefer this to my garmin watch (especially for no summer tan lines and overall just more comfortable while tracking similar things!) I do wish the gold was a more authentic gold, but I’m sure that would hike up the price even more. I ordered a size 8 for reference and put it on my middle finger right hand. It fit on my index finger right hand, however it was a little too tight for my liking, so I felt the middle finger was perfect and this was confirmed after having very snug fits after waking up and also during workout! Overall great value for the money, love the no required subscription too!

4 APR 2024 update Here is an update on my experience after receiving my replacement Ring. 1. **Improved Battery Life:** One of the most notable improvements with the replacement ring is battery life. While it still falls short of the advertised six days, I'm now comfortably getting around four days with no issues. It's a significant enhancement from before, making the device much more practical for daily use. 2. **Consistent Outstanding Customer Service:** I'm pleased to report that Ultrahuman's customer service continues to shine. They've been responsive and helpful whenever I've had inquiries or issues, maintaining a high support standard. 3. **Skin Temperature Reading Still Inaccurate:** Unfortunately, the issue with skin temperature readings persists. Despite hopes for improvement, the readings remain unreliable, often showing my body temps in the 70-degree range. However, I've noticed that the presentation of this data in the app has changed. It indicates if readings are off the baseline, similar to other devices like the Apple Watch and Oura Ring. While this doesn't fix the underlying problem, it does make it less conspicuous. 4. **Surprisingly Resistant to Scratches:** This replacement ring's durability is an unexpected positive. Unlike my previous experience, scratches haven't been an issue with this new ring. Despite daily wear, it's held up well, which is a welcome surprise. Certainly not scratch-free, but better than expected. 5. **Active CEO/Team Presence:** The Ultrahuman team's presence on platforms like Reddit remains commendable. Hosting an Ask Me Anything (AMA) session a month ago demonstrates their commitment to engaging with the community and addressing concerns directly. Although I missed the AMA, I've followed up on the discussions, and it's reassuring to see such active involvement from the leadership. 6. **Firmware Updates and Battery Life Enhancements:** Recently, a firmware update was pushed to the ring, promising improvements to battery life. While it's too early to confirm its effectiveness, it's a positive sign that Ultrahuman is actively working to enhance the performance of its device. I'll monitor closely to see if this update delivers on its promises. The improvements in battery life and customer service are particularly noteworthy, although the persistent issue with skin temperature readings remains a concern. Nevertheless, with ongoing updates and a responsive team behind the product, I remain optimistic about its future performance and utility. 7 MAR 2024 update Customer service has been great. I mean damn great. So I will continue to allow them to make it right. We will see if my experience is changed with the replacement ring. Sadly this replacement ring is 1-2 weeks out. So I’m forced to live with bad body temperature data and daily charging until then. I appreciate the opportunity to share my experience using the Ultrahuman Ring Air. Unfortunately, my experience has been quite challenging, with two significant issues. Problem 1: The skin temperature readings consistently show in the 70s and 80s, which seems abnormal. I understand that your team has mentioned it might capture ambient room temperatures, but this aligns differently from other competitive products I've compared it to. I'm concerned that inaccurate skin temperature readings impact the overall data and health scores, potentially affecting the product's reliability. Problem 2: The battery drainage has been a persistent issue, dropping from 100% to 30% within a few hours on different days. I've had to perform factory resets and reach out for support, which has been inconvenient and frustrating. Given these challenges, I'm leaning towards returning the product at the end of this week. I cannot recommend it based on my experience. These issues can be addressed to enhance the functionality and reliability of the Ultrahuman Ring Air for future customers.
- Kindle Customer2024-03-11Needs a few bugs worked out. Support is super tho!
I linked the phone (brand new) to my new Ultrahuman Air Ring Feb 28. It was fine - I felt like I was learning to process the numbers it was spitting out. Fast forward to March 7, there have been two updates already from Ultrahuman in the past week, and now it's sluggish connecting to the app. The data doesn't pop up unless I close the app several times and re-start the app on my phone. March 9, I try to pull up the app, and it won't load at all. Sunday, after charging ring from 70% to 100% it opens the app just fine, but my steps don't match what I had seen before on the previous three days. Numbers went down on Friday's steps, by 1000 steps. Numbers went up on Saturday's steps, by 1000. That's weird, but I shrugged it off. Later in the day (an hour later), the app won't open. I turn off the phone, board my flight, and restart the phone on the other end of the journey. The app reports a ridiculously low number of steps for slogging through two airports. (1,039 steps?) Later in the day, I try to open the app and again, it won't open. The next day is Monday. I try to open the app after my workout, but it won't load. I restart the phone. No app. I sync the app/ring. I hit the soft reset. After restarting the phone for the 3rd time, and several more sync attempts and soft reset's, I finally hit the "Set up New Ring" to disconnect and reconnect to the ring. Then I restart my phone. Getting more data now - but the app still thinks it's Sunday and not Monday. The step count for the last 5 days is jumping around by 1000 steps - give or take from any particular day. I've reached out to Support twice now, but they're on India Time Zone, so they're sleeping, and I'm frustrated after wasting half my day trying to get my new-ish ring to work properly. When this app syncs up to the Ring, it's great. Still don't know what half the numbers mean, but you get a lot of data, and a lot of cute advice; "Hey, you might want to think about recharging today with light activity, your sleep numbers are low." (Yes, I was sleep deprived, so it was very accurate). I've asked Support if I have a defective ring how I go about getting it replaced. When it works, I'd be happy to give it five stars, unfortunately, it's having electronic Alzheimer's, and I'm annoyed enough that I give it no stars. UPDATE: The update that was eventually sent out 24 hours after Support said it was already updated, finally made the Ring and App realize what day it actually was. The numbers didn't correct themselves back the original step counts, but hey, 1,000 steps off is no big deal, right? Now, I still don't have any interaction with the "How are you feeling" section of the app - not sure it I'm supposed to be able to select one of the three choices, but why ask if it won't let me answer? I still don't understand some of the numbers that pop up for some of the other sections, but that's probably my fault and I need to google something to find out more (the app doesn't offer any insights). So, I'm upgrading from no stars to 3 stars. I deduct two stars because I have to do research outside of the app to figure out what the numbers mean on these sections that make no sense. Plus, there's no way to get rid of the ads. The one that says, "Refer a friend", and "Ring Store" - if I wanted a t-shirt I'd get one, but I don't need to see that on the first page of my app every single time I open the darn thing. Ditto with "refer a friend". Bury that stuff deeper in the app, please. Ugh. The ring is comfy, and it's easy to pop it on the charger while I shower, so it stays around 70-80% charged. Also, it doesn't look too terrible next to my wedding rings, (I got the silver tone). UPDATE #2; Turns out it's not intuitive to hit the tiny dot and drag it for the "How are you feeling" section, but when you do that, it works as intended. I tried tapping the dot I wanted to select, not drag it from it's current position to a new one. Silly me. (So, not intuitive? Or can I blame being an old lady?) There's been another update, and a few things look a little different ... and I'm learning how to drill down and get more information than before, so ever so slowly, I'm figuring this Ring app out. The workout stuff I'd prefer to see on the first page instead of buried deeper in the app, and in my tiny little opinion, I'd like to see a workout that specified "Treadmill" and "Weight Lifting", instead of the closest thing of "cross training" which I don't think my workout qualifies as cross training. I still want the ads to go away. Very annoying. Which is why it's been upgraded to four stars but not five. I'm sure a six year old would have been able to navigate this thing like a champ. As someone who grew up with a rotary dial phone, this app is not easy to navigate, or "just know" how to drill down, or flip, or slide, or drag, in all the different sections to get more info. It'd be nice if it was the same "drill/drag/slide/fling/tap" action to get more info in all of the sections instead of some secret "ABAB-left-right-up-down-up-down-ABAB-start" code that only an 11 year old can memorize .... Oh, what? Me being an old lady again? Oops. I'm trying to be cool with my "Ring Air", but I think the gray hair is throwing off the vibe. Bottom line? After almost a month of exploring the Ring, I find that I need to toss the Ring on the charger every other morning while I shower to keep it around 70-80% charged. If it drops to 30% you get warning notices (nice - I appreciate that). It's not too bulky on my finger. I wear it at the gym, but I use fingerless gloves, which protects it from getting scratched up by the knurling on the bars. I wear it in the shower and while hand washing dishes. I probably won't wear it scuba diving since they say to avoid more than 30 minutes submerged, and my dives usually last almost an hour. Support through the app has been amazingly helpful - they've been responsive, and then followed up later to make sure all is okay. Very impressive! I continue to explore the app and try to learn how to navigate the different sections correctly and fully - a lot of drilling down menus I'm discovering. I chose this Ring over the Oura because it didn't require a subscription, and it was the slimmest profile. Now I'm impressed by the support team - they were VERY helpful! And my learning curve which is glacial, is feeling pretty speedy in this scenario. At this point, I can highly recommend the Ring. UPDATE #3: (April 2024) After roughly 2 months, I've realized that my battery hits 15% in about a day and a half. I try to toss it on the charger every morning while I shower to keep it around 80 - 100% to start the day. The ring rapidly loses 20% before lunch, and after 24 hours, it's at 50%. The battery does not last a week as advertised. I lose almost 50% every day, so it's best to charge it daily. This is annoying when the advertised batterylife is almost a week, but, *shrug* what can you do? The other issue is that I do a "soft reset" often. Sometimes several times in a row because the app says "Ring not found". So I hit the 'soft reset' and then 'restart' the cell phone, too. It often takes several attempts before the ring is "found" by the app. A bit frustrating, yes. After it's connected, then I get all of my data = sleep scores and steps just fine. Update May 1, 2024. It's been roughly 65 days since I started using my ring. Yesterday, I charged the ring overnight, so it was a solid 100% in the morning. I put it on at 5:45am for my workout. At 4pm the ring was down to 2%! It's useless to have a fitness app that I have to charge twice a day! Bottom line? I may have a faulty ring, and I'm working with 'Support' to try and figure out a solution. We're at a one-star level until we get this resolved. Support told me to sync the ring, (Profile icon lower right, settings wheel upper right, "sync" - got error message, tried again and it seems to have worked). Then do a factory reset - again, it had trouble finding the ring when it started up. Then wear it normally. Within the first minute the battery dropped from 100% to 95%. by 7:30pm it had steadily dropped to 9%. Support responded and asked me for my contact info so they can replace the ring. That's awesome! I'm changing my stars back to 4 (we'll push it to 5 after the new ring arrives and behaves).
- Black-Gray T-55 test man2023-10-27Good product, nice App; customer care awkward
Update 12/28/23: My sense is this is a good product, and I like the App. The process of gathering data to prove purchase, warrant, and damage seems antiquated; detracts from an otherwise great user experience. The vendor has indicated they will replace the unit; restored my rating to 4 stars. I was required to take screen shots of the warrantee (from my credit card statement, a screw shot of the Amazon purchase, as well as ca. 8 pictures to document the damage (they were not able to see the damage, and requested clearer pictures). Total time invested about 1.5 hours. More onerous than I would have expected given the warrantee was electronically activated via the their app and shows as such in the app. I have not received the new unit yet, no been given any additional guidance on what to expect when it arrives, re. RA#, shipping, etc. Update: ring broke after two months. Plastic came off over sensor. I ouchased a separate warranty. Vendor is not honoring warrantee or Amazon purchase so far; they want proof via receipts despite purchase via their app of warranty. Update 11/30/23: raising to 5 stars (ignoring battery life) given the utility of the devices raw data collection and derived data utility, and the effectiveness of the ongoing advice the App gives. Made changes suggested by App based on my data and am seeing results on sleep. This was the main reason for the purchase. My sense is that the algorithms, raw data collected, derived data, and data interpretation are far and away superior to Fitbit (we have tried 6 over the years, higher priced models) as is the reliability of the raw data collection. I actually bought a second unit to compare data and the results are very similar. I wear two at night, either on different hands or same hand. Nice reproducibility. As well, others note the software is “confusing”. I can’t disagree however some of this I expect stems from the stages unlocking of different modules as minimum requires data is collected, before which no derived data can be created. I’ve not read the manual other than the quick start guide, and yet at 3-4 weeks I understand the App pretty well. Update: 11/13/23: reducing to 3 stars due to battery life. The reliability of the sleep-related information is good as long as you follow the below. At least initially. I have not tried taking my phone off line again (re below) Fully charged, connected to blue tooth: every time you close the app…it loses the connection to the ring. So to get this to work one would need to leave your iPhone on, and running the app…you iPhone can’t be used for anything else. Clearly not what they intended. Hope it resolves. Point of buying was for sleep quality; if my body blocks signal or I quite literally need to sleep with hand next to phone, I’ll let folks know.
- sean2024-06-09It is very comfortable. Super light
The ring is very comfortable when I compared to the Oura 3 ring and the Oura 3 is like a big bulky ring compared to theh ultra human ring. I also found the ultra human ring sizes better fit my fingers. my hands are big and none of the Oura 3 rings would fit my fingers. I’d have to put it on the pinky and it didn’t fit well. I also was very impressed with th ultra human app, which is very user-friendly. It Gives you a lot of information and tells you things like it’s time to get ready for bed, to start winding down or it’ll say something about REM sleep was increased of decreased. The app is a very positive experience if you compare this to the WHOOP band 4.0 the WHOOP band is like spanking you and the ultra human ring is more geared toward positive health. the company is very responsive to Oh emails. I think the team is working very hard to perfect this ring
- Tay2024-07-07Genuinely love it
I love the color and how it feels on my hand. Not to mention how I find the app to be easy to navigate and appreciate how (thought it’s in the beta stage) I can track my workouts, not just runs/walks. For battery, I find that it lasts long and I usually pop it on the charger while I’m in the shower and it’s good to go for a few days. The app is easy to understand and I’m so happy I made this purchase vs. the Oura ring. I was doing research for both, but was totally turned off by the Oura’s monthly subscription. The UH ring is better, cuter, and subscription-free. Totally recommend. My only thing is that for cycle tracking, the UH ring only synchs with one period tracking app, which is not the one I use, so I don’t use my ring to track my cycles.
- Tricia Cappelli2024-05-30Didn’t seem accurate and not practical
I had very high hopes for this ring and it’s a cool design, but it didn’t meet my expectations. First off, it didn’t seem to be calculating calories burned correctly which was the main reason I got it. It also stopped counting my data one day around 4pm and just didn’t update anything else despite the screen refreshing every time I opened the app. The next main portion of it was the fit, it was a bad fit and not because of the size I ordered. I initially ordered a size 10 for the ring, and that was much too big that it was about to fall off every time I moved my hand, so I ordered a size down, size 9. It was fine the first couple of days, although when I went to the gym or got warm, my finger felt like it would swell a bit more than normal and I couldn’t get the ring off multiple times until my temperature cooled down or I ran the ring under water. That was fine temporarily but I was getting too worried it would make my finger too swollen and not be able to go back to a normal enough size to get it off, which in that case you have to get it taken off by medical professionals, which the ring brochure also mentions. I officially decided to return it when, at the end of the day (I had not been active in a good bit so was not overheated or anything), I moved my ring around and saw this white ring around my finger where the center of the ring was sitting.I decided to take it off since it looked like it was either blistering my skin or cutting off circulation. It’s now the next morning and my finger is still pretty tingly and a little numb feeling from the way this ring is designed. For something that’s $350, I’d expect it to not have flaws like this. Wouldn’t waste your money
- Michelle2024-07-09Great Sleep Tracker and Fits Great!
So far, I love the ring. I used the ring sizing kit first and picked the size 10 and I ordered the size 10 and it fits beautifully on my finger! I mainly got this to track my sleep because my watch wasn't cutting it! I have problems sleeping and the watch didn't want to track it on a daily basis. This ring is amazing and is tracking my crappy sleep habits!!! It is a little off on my steps, but the watch tracks those for me anyway!
- John2024-06-21Sleep monitoring not accurate
I purchased this ring because the reviews were fantastic when it came to sleep monitoring but the first night it said I slept great with very little movement. I wake several times a night and know this is not accurate. the second night I counted how many times I turned over and it was at least 8. the app said I slept very good with 1 turnover. The reason I made this purchase was to get a baseline before I start wearing an apparatus for 18-24 months to improve breathing while asleep so I don't wake up so much. then I could compare the results as time goes on. I immediately sent it back for a refund. I like the app on this product compared to another brand I purchased to replace this one but the new ring seems much more accurate on the sleeping mode so far.
- icanfathom2024-07-08Great stats to help me get the most out of my day
I bought my Ultrahuman Ring to track sleep, and it is excellent at that. Far more useful than my Apple Watch, since it covers not just sleep cycles but also skin temperature, restlessness, and HRV. It also gives me advice on when to drink caffeine, when to exercise, and the right time to avoid bright light or other forms of stimulation. My few complaints are: - Lack of configurability. I want to choose which notifications I get from the ring and which can be skipped. - Poor tracking of weightlifting. (They're working on this feature, I believe.) Right now my Movement score for the day is sometimes quite bad despite the fact that I lifted for over an hour plus went for a long walk. That just doesn't make sense. Overall, I've loved all the crunchy stats my ring gives me, and I can't wait to continue tweaking my sleep situation to maximize those Z's.
