This card is quiet, cool, and very fast. There are more than 5000 cores and 16 GB of DDR6 ram. I did notice transient stuttering for about 15 minutes in some titles. Restarting the computer or flushing the shader cache fixed this. This card is noticeably faster than the 7800xt. However, you need to configure your bios for maximum performance. You should not use this card in bios compatability mode (CSM). Turn CSM mode off and turn on above 4g encoding and turn on resizable bar. I got a 20% increase in Firestrike and Cyberpunk77 benchmark. Very fast in Diablo 4. This card has the best price to performance and build quality is much better than 4070 super founder which I returned. There are two 8 pin power connectors and the card is 12.7 inches long and 2.5 slots wide. Upgraded from rtx 3080 EVA with 10 gb of RAM. Many thanks to Powercolor and Sapphire for making the best AMD graphics cards. Faster, cooler and better. Ideal card for 1440p at 160hz.
- Michelle Stone2024-03-03I agonized over this choice.
I was trying to make the choice between this, a 4070 Super, and a 7900 XT. I don't care about ray tracing. I don't play games that use it all that much. I'm glad I saved a few dollars and went with this card. It doesn't use as much power as I thought it would. I notice it getting up to about 175 watts when I'm using it. It provides me plenty of frames. I play mostly World of Warcraft and this card is MORE than enough for that game. Final Fantasy looks really good with this card as well. It is smaller than I thought it would be so I had absolutely no issues fitting it inside my mid tower case with lots of room to spare. It has a switch where you can decide to use ice blue lightning, and amethyst color (light purple), or no lighting. I'm not big on RGB stuff so I use the amethyst. It's sort of soothing. It also has two bios setting switches if you are into that sort of thing. I am not. I did find the need to support the right end with a GPU stand. Without the stand, it didn't sit level. I think this is an issue with nearly every GPU. In any case, it looks sharp, gives me lots of FPS, and is super quiet. It doesn't get hot in my well ventilated case and I'm very pleased with this purchase. I highly recommend it.
- corey2023-07-03How the RX 7900 XTX impressed me with its performance, features, and aesthetics
I bought the RX 7900 XTX to upgrade my gaming PC and I am very happy with my purchase. This card is a beast and can handle any game I throw at it with ease. Here are some of the things I liked about it: - The RGB lighting is amazing and customizable. I synced it up with my ASUS Hero X 570 motherboard using Armory Crate and made it react to music, sounds, games, and movies. It looks awesome and adds to the immersion. - The price is very reasonable for the performance. It is way cheaper than the RTX 4080 and performs about the same or even better in some cases. It is definitely worth the money. - The cooling and noise are excellent. I haven't had any coil whine even on overclocked mode and at 100% load. The fans are quiet and keep the card cool under stress. The card ran at about 85°C on quiet mode and sometimes lower, and about 95°C on overclock mode. It has a max safe temp of 110°C according to AMD before throttling happens, but it never reached that for me. - The features are impressive. I like the AMD Freesync technology that eliminates screen tearing and stuttering. I also like the Adrenaline UI that lets me tweak the settings, monitor the performance, and update the drivers easily. The card performed much better after I updated the driver with Adrenaline, so make sure to do a clean install on any card to avoid problems. - The design is sleek and sturdy. The card has a metal backplate and a black and red color scheme that matches my build. It also has a dual BIOS switch that lets me choose between performance and quiet modes. - The AMD Smart Access Memory is a bonus. I used a Ryzen 7 3800x CPU and it ran just fine with no bottlenecking. This feature allows the CPU to access more of the GPU memory, boosting the performance even further. - The switch from Nvidia to AMD was smooth and satisfying. I always used Nvidia cards before, but this was my first time going with an AMD graphics card. I'm really glad I gave AMD a chance. They have improved a lot and offer great products at competitive prices. - **The performance in different games was amazing. I monitored three games in AMD Adrenaline and here are the results:** **Hogwarts Legacy: No ray tracing, quiet mode, ultra settings with AMD FSR quality, 4K resolution with a 120 FPS cap (because that's my gaming TV's refresh rate). With a playtime of 68 minutes in the castle area mainly, I got an average FPS of 87.5. The game looked stunning and ran smoothly. **Destroy All Humans: Max settings, quiet mode, 4K resolution with a 120 FPS cap. With a playtime of 47 minutes, I got an average FPS of 103.8. It stayed at 120 FPS most of the time except when I went into the saucer, but it stayed above 100 FPS. The game was fun and responsive. **Spyro Reignited Trilogy: Max settings, quiet mode, 4K resolution with a 120 FPS cap. With a playtime of 21 minutes, I got an average FPS of 111.4. It stayed at 120 FPS most of the time as well. The game was colorful and smooth. The RX 7900 XTX is a great graphics card that delivers amazing performance, features, and aesthetics. It can run any game at high resolutions and settings without breaking a sweat. It is also cheaper and quieter than its competitors. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a powerful and affordable gaming card. You won't regret it!

Great price! This card has been great over the last couple weeks. Zero problems playing max settings 1440p. Huge upgrade from my 3050ti laptop. Also this card looks great in my build. No rgb, all black. It even runs pretty cool. I have it overclocked and there’s absolutely no overheating.
- Amazon Customer2024-06-25Fantastic card, especially for a base model
Picked this up on an (accidental? shoutout to powercolorsteven) sale that put it at 7800xt pricing a bit before the latest price cuts and anticipated increased thermals and noise for what I'm used to but at stock settings it's a champ. Clean design and although I haven't pulled it apart it looks like power delivery and memory are well covered by the heatsink. Cycling through some benchmarks the temps stayed right around 65 C under full load. Coming from using nvidia for many years (my last amd card was an HD 6k model), I was super impressed with the amd software suite although a manual tune handily beat the automatic tuning options. I probably will play around a bit more but for now I settled on a 975mv undervolt, 2340 mhz mem clock, and a -10% power limit with a very gentle fan curve to keep things quiet (surprisingly I was getting basically the same benchmark scores vs the default power limit but I'm not GN, ymmv). At stock the fans were already surprisingly quiet at full load but I wanted to mess around with speeds to cut out some of the higher pitches. Idle power is on the high side for these cards afaik across all vendors and mine bounces around 20-40w on a 4k 60hz screen. Hopefully amd improves that in the future. I sort of doubt vendors can do anything on that side besides maybe help remind amd that consumers do care about that sort of thing and everybody seems to take note of the rtx 4000 series' relative power efficiency both at idle and at load. Kudos though to power color for a fantastic card.

As someone who's always used Nvidia gpus and wanted to upgrade my 3060, the 7800XT is my first Radeon gpu. I've been using this gpu for a month now and I will say I've had a few different bugs on the AMD side I never dealt with on the Nvidia side. I had one night where it wouldn't open any game but a simple reboot would fix it. (The issue hasn't replicated since, seemed to be one time). Recently I've been playing D2R maxed out at 1440p and it looks and plays great with this gpu but sometimes when I close it for some reason it will crash. (Seemed to be gone after the most recent driver update). I never had issues like that with that on my 3060, but it doesn't seem to be anything more then minor inconveniences. As a whole I would say for 500 bucks this is a good gpu but if you go team red I feel like you might want to be someone who enjoys pc building, tinkering and troubleshooting more often then Nvidia. If you want a gpu to just work and call it a day get a 4070, but this is a better card at this price if you are a tech person like myself and don't mind working with hardware. Also as a side note if you are coming from a Nvidia gpu to a AMD gpu make sure to do a DDU and remove all of the Nvidia drivers properly before installing AMD ones or you could potentially have a bad time. Pros --- -Better then the 4070 in pure power for cheaper. -AMD Adrenaline software is good. (Live gaming fps counters, overclocking tools, undervolt tools, etc) -10-15 degrees overall cooler system while gaming. -Dual Bios Cons --- -Very large gpu (Check case compatibility). -RT performance isn't as good as the 40 series. -If you mind troubleshooting or dealing with odd as I call them "AMD issues" or use your system for professional business, I'd suggest going for a Nvidia gpu. -Currently features such as anti-lag+, RSR, and FSR are inferior to Nvidia's upscaling and DLSS in maturity.
- Dre Wilson2024-06-06Easily the best mid-high range card. Perfect for video editing.
This card is a beast and absolutely beautiful. Blue is my fav color so I love the blue LED color. This is my first higher-end card and my god is it powerful. I do mostly video editing and it's fast as heck. I do a little AI encoding too and it's on par with the 4060 in my laptop speed wise. So that's nice. The card is also super quiet. There is a silent switch on the GPU, but I dont know why they added it. The card is not at all loud by default. And im talking when im doing intense work. Also works well with eGPU setups. I've got eGPU boxes and boards, and this card had no issues running over Thunderbolt/USB4, m.2 PCIE and oculink. Loving this card and would absolutely recommend it for those looking for a high end card under 1k.
- Dale C.2024-04-16Best High end graphics card for the money
The cooling is incredible. Even running many different games like Diablo 4, Palworld, dark souls, Seikro, Elden ring, the list goes on I never saw temps go higher then around 65 Celsius. Would also like to note I run all games in 4K. My AVG fps in most games was 200+ in well optimized games. In Palworld I played it at launch and would avg around 90-140 fps in 4K myself. But the value for your money is amazing. I had a 6950 before this and let me say this 7900 XTX is an insane value for me. The 6950 isn’t a bad card it performs very well and I had no issues with it besides coil whine. That being said I’d definitely consider it an entry level 4k card. The difference when I play most games is night and day. The Upscaling feature that AMD uses is great too. It’s obviously not as good as an Nvidia card but in most cases I got huge gains and minimal drawback. I know most people debate about 60fps to 120fps but let me say that for me it’s extremely noticeable. Which is why with my 6950 I called it an entry level 4k card. Because my avg FPS in 4K for most games was 60. Some would get more of course but a large majority did not get me 120-200fps. If you can get this card on sale anything under a 850$ price tag its a bargain for the money.
- B-man2024-04-307900 XTX Red Devil is a nice card, but the stock cooler is kinda meh
Honestly with this card being one of the cheaper models my expectations weren't exactly high and yet I'm still somewhat disappointed. I'll summarize my experience with this card with a list of Pros and Cons. Pros: -Cheaper than the other models and matches the price of the GTX 1080 Ti when it first launched (price adjusted for inflation) -Handles just about every game I have played on my 240hz 1440p monitor without running into crashes or timeout issues. The issues I did have were patched by the time I decided to leave a more detailed review -Supports newer DisplayPort versions if you care about that -VR functions fine (running HP Reverb G2 using WMR) -Adrenaline software is insanely user friendly with all of the tuning settings for the hardware coming with it. Although you will have to download the DevilZone software seperately if you want to control the RGB lighting of this card which isn't exactly a huge issue. Cons: -Stock cooler is S Tier Mediocrity with hotspot temps reaching or exceeding 105C and occasionally causing thermal shutdowns when under load. -Stock settings can almost immediately cause a thermal shutdown when under load. Noisy fan curve, reduced clock speed and undervolting is almost mandatory in some cases. Best case scenario you will be at an 89-95C hotspot when turning a lot of settings in games off when only utilizing 80% of the GPU. Side Note: I did try repasting this card as regularly reaching 105C temps were apparently not high enough to have the RMA accepted. Whenever I buy anything now I treat it as though the word "warranty" has no real meaning and that I should be prepared to fix and modify things myself. Conclusion: This card is great and functions perfectly fine, however when the card is put under load outside the 1080p range things can become a bit hectic. I highly recommend either getting the Liquid Devil whenever it's back in stock or ordering a custom waterblock for this. The total price of the card after installing the water loop is roughly the same as the other high-end 7900 XTX models that are out there on the market with the most expensive part being the waterblock itself. If you were already planning on doing a custom water loop then this shouldn't pose a problem for you, however if you have no interest in installing a custom water loop then I recommend looking for a different card or skipping this generation of GPUs altogether. At the end of the day this card is either a hit or a miss and may not be capable of safely meeting the capabilities it advertises on the box.
- Matthew Warren2024-02-22First AMD card Works great is bulky very good temps Windows users beware
This is my first AMD card and I haven't had any issues other than windows since I got it 4 months ago. The card is very big and does consume a lot of watts so a large case and a psu capable of handling it is a good idea. I get insanely good temps with this card I haven't gotten it over 80 C and I've tired. I mean I could disable the fans and burn it out but why. If you going solely for video editing I think NVIDIA would be the way to go but that's not something I'm into so doesn't really matter to me. I seen a lot of negative reviews in regards to this card working initially and then having a lot of issues after the first month or so. I can't comment on why other peoples cards have failed but I can say that windows like to think they can make AMDs products better than they can and will forcefully and without your consent (like a rapist) install over your already working perfectly fine drivers causing lots of issues like people have described. Ever with driver installs disabled through the GPO and turned off in the windows components and windows update areas they will still install their garbage drivers over AMD's perfectly fine drivers. Windows is very aggressive about owing your property and making your decisions for you, kind of like how windows will install it's boot loader onto EVERY HARDDRIVE YOU HAVE all at once which makes sense if their trying to make sure you don't use or own any other operating system as windows does not place nice with other operating systems. Also keeping your drives mounted even after the computer is shut off is kind of dickish I mean since they keep it mounted you can't install anything onto it, just unnecessarily makes it harder to move to a better, faster, more reliable and less rapey operating system. Forcing a person to have a .live account just to use something they bought is a dick move. Fun fact when I installed Linux onto my computer for the very first time the next time I tried to logged into my windows account I was locked out of my own account on my own computer and was told that having to wait 2 hours to use my own computer wasn't that big of a deal and I disagree. Slapping someones keys of of their hands and telling them their not allowed to drive their car that they payed for and they pay insurance and they put gas in would be an absurd thing to do because you don't get to make that decision for someone else. Reason I was given for being locked out of my own computer was that it could have been either too many failed attempts at logging in or due to multiple systems shut downs in a short period of time, both were untrue as I'm the only person who uses my computer. After being allowed to use my own computer again guess what happened they very next day after 0 failed log ins and 1 perfectly normal system shut down yea locked out again. So this video card for me has worked absolutely wonderfully but if you're on windows do your new lil AMD buddy a huge favor and watch his back because windows will brick him without thought and without remorse. Their forums are littered with people having this exact same issue and instead of acknowledging consent as something that matters or allowing others to make decisions for themselves they still continue to forcefully install garbage updates that break your stuff. 2 fatal hardware errors was enough for me. Also when you're forced into reinstalling the proper drivers make sure you are 100% disconnected from the internet because if you aren't the first chance windows gets to get all rapey on you it will and consent (disabling automatic driver updates) is something it doesn't care about.
