I just plugged it in and set it up on my iPhone Blink app. Set it inside window closest to our mailbox out on the road in front out our house. Easy to use.

I have been trying to connect this device, followed all the instructions, looked around for other tips to connect to no avail. This thing sucks Update: I was ready to give up on this Ring Bridge, Melissa of Ring reached out to me and called. After a short discussion, she figured it was most likely defective and started the process to send me a replacement right away. Hopefully this solves the issue. Perhaps this is a premature update but Ring will track my replacement and contact me to see if all is well. Hoping for the best. Thank you ring customer service.

I needed this bridge to install the Ring mailbox sensor. Installation was simply and it worked first time. My only issue is the brightness of the light on it. I haven't looked into it but it would be nice if a user could choose the brightness of the light. That seems like a nit pick but that is the only thing I could find that could be an issue. Regardless I would certainly recommend this item.

We do love the easy setup and controlling our outdoor lights via Alexa and the ring app. But we struggle with its range. Had to move the devices around strategically to convert all areas. I tried to add a second bridge (workout much research prior to purchase) to find out you can only have one registered per account. Keep that in mind if you have a large property and/or challenging terrain features.

I get a "Firmware Update Failed" message every time I try to set it up. I've used different phones, different routers, reset routers, reset modems, changed rooms, had phone on top of ring on top of router, used the video and followed the instructions, all to no avail. Probably tried this 20 times. So..... crappy manufacturing or quality process at this point. I expect more from Ring. Discussed with customer support and bot/human stated that it was likely that a new unit wouldn't work either. Really? It's not rocket science. Make a product that works. 12/6 - update. I received my new bridge today and it failed once again trying to upgrade firmware. I was not right next to my router (but still > 50% signal), so this was a little stress test. It failed, not big deal assuming I don't need to keep it right on top of my router. The device informed me that "sometimes things have trouble connecting to the internet". Well, no. They should connect every time given that connecting to the internet is pretty much needed to be within the realm of IOT devices. But, I'm not going to argue over user error messages. I moved within a foot of my router and after a few resets it finally connected and updated firmware (+1 star). Added a solar light with a few communication issues as well, but it finally worked (+1 star) If this thing actual works when I install my lights above my garage AND find a suitable spot to put the bridge, I'll probably add a star. Things I don't like - The QR Code is too small. There's plenty of real estate to make it a little easier to read. - I'm not satisfied yet that these devices go through a stringent QA at manufacturing resulting in users being field testers. Meh, it happens. I would prefer about 2hrs of whatever a QA tester makes to offset my time. Probably not happening. Things I like - Lights seem bright enough and MD is pretty responsive. I'll get more data once I get it all hooked up. - The bridge and lights seem to be reasonably priced assuming you get them to work. I'll get a couple more devices and set up some groups and see how everything plays together.

I use it connected to a ring outdoor plug and three ring lightbulbs. Some difficulty connecting some of the bulbs but once connected no problems for two to three months now.
