    This thing is magic

I’m no tech expert beyond the basics, so I cannot get my head around how this works. But it does, and does so really, really well. We installed this in a rental condo that is on ANOTHER CONTINENT. Setup was a snap (make sure your router supports 2.5 mhz) and now I can change lock codes for each new guest and monitor entrances by user. This gadget even shows you the power level of your door lock’s batteries. Is it witchcraft? No idea, but it is an amazing tool and way worth the price to upgrade the functionality of your Sifely digital lock. One note: keep in mind that, if it gets unplugged, the gateway will stop working. Recommend putting it somewhere that’s unlikely to happen.

    Works perfectly

We have the lock set for our rental property. This enables us to be able to tell when the rental checks in and out so we can reset the code remotely. Without it we would be have to store codes when we were there which was really inconvenient. This was great quality and easy to install. Great value for the money.

    This Works great but...

This remote connection hub was easy to set up and install. However, I'm NOT a big fan of the lock itself because it takes 5-10 tries for it to recognize your fingerprint. The other thing that I liked was that this unit could also be paired with a GEEKSMART lock... But it would not pair to both locks at the same time. I read somewhere that this could control more than 1 lock but maybe they have to be the same brand... Overall I would recommend this unit but I just wish I would have bought a different lock altogether.

It is good just get used to it.

Let me start with the few downsides. Because of the keypad you have to mount it on top. Is that a problem? ehhhh maybe for some. This is a front door kind of lock so it goes on $900-$4k doors. The frames have cut outs for the latch plates. The top one it usually the dead bolt which doesn't have the lip on the plate. To install the plate with the lip you have to cut a notch for it on top. That means the lower (now the dead bolt plate) has a cut out for the lip that the dead bolt doesn't have. I just colored the notch with a brown marker and it blends fine. I am happy with it, but some people will say "I spent 4 grand on a door and now it doesn't look perfect." In fairness we have just installed 5 exterior doors and 7 different locks. There was not one of them that did not require some customization to get the plates to fit. Problem two, every once in a while it thinks you are trying to lock the door when you try and use a fingerprint to open it. No idea why. Then you have to use a different method. I mean you have a key fob, a numeric code, wifi or blue tooth with your cell phone, as well as fingerprints or the emergency key. To use the wifi for remote opening you need to buy the optional gateway. Problem three, the fingerprint is not always reliable, or more accurately requires you to place your finger in almost the same orientation as you recorded it in. Usually it takes me 2 or 3 tries to get it. That means like 5 seconds longer to do it. And there are times when your hands are full and that is annoying. What isn’t annoying is that you can put in hundreds of fingerprints, I did four of mine, and you don't need to dig for your key. It is way faster that the numeric entry option. So it is very convenient, I can use what ever hand is free and sometimes the clean hand. So I love it. Problem 4, the key fob lanyard is a stretchy cord that I doubt will last. Problem 5, you can give out all kinds of numbers to friends, family, guest, etc. but it picks them at random, you can change them to your preference only after you have used the assigned number at the lock once. I think this is a pretty weak list of complaints. Not withstanding these few annoyances I love the lock. Things I like about it. It has the best damn instructions I have ever seen! Every set of parts is in a numbered bag linked to the step in the instructions. Every step that could be the least bit confusing has a QR code link to a video on that step. And the instructions are clear. This thing was a dream to install. All the parts were made to make assembly a breeze. Joy 2, I have mentioned the multiple ways to open it. Joy 3 if you have the gateway it sends you a list in the app of when the door is used, who and how. Joy 4 There is a security switch to lock it so there is no external opening except with the emergency key. Conversely it locks behind you and the door unlocked window settings only go to 6 minutes, zero if you opened from inside. Joy 5 you can program open times during the day from the app. That said fingerprint open is so easy having it lock after you walk out is not much of an inconvenience. Joy 6 it looks nice and talks to you. Joy 7 by far the best value, feature rich lock out there. Joy 8 it looks solid as a rock. Joy 9 setting up the finger prints has you read your fingerprint 3 times for each one. It was effortless. Highly recommended. I only marked it down because some people will find some of the challenges mentioned a concern.

    Remote use--one final step

A couple notes that may trip up users. 1) While the gateway only runs on 2.5G wireless, your phone and all the rest of your devices can still run 5G. My wireless router supports 2.5 and 5g concurrently so all's well there. The only drawback might be a shorter range for 2.5, but my Gateway G2 is in range for all my locks. 2) I thought that after setting up the gateway AND the gateway seeing my door locks that I could lock and unlock them remotely. One more step was required. I had to go to each lock and via bluetooth, access each lock's setting and "Remote Unlock" to On. Once Remote Unlock is enabled for each lock, I can control them from anywhere with my phone.

    Excellent Product and Tech Support

I live in a condo where dozens of other owners have replaced their their traditional locks with electronic ones. I installed my Sifely lock with fobs and wifi over two years ago and have had opportunities to compare the Sifely with other brands. Nothing compares. Installation and operation has been a breeze. I've used the features on multiple occasions and they have greatly simplified my life. That alone justifies the purchase. But I don't simply judge companies and their products and/or services alone. I started having a problem with the latch operation and contacted Sifely via email since they hadn't opened their chat services early this morning. Later I contacted their chat support. I couldn't have asked for a better response if I had been talking with my brother. I explained the issue, provided a mailing address, and the purchase order number. The replacement latch is on its way with absolutely no charge. There's no way to beat that. Your property will be in good hands with Sifely. BTW, this is a completely self-motivated review. I just like sharing my consumer experiences with the rest of you in cyberspace who shop online. Cheers! Bob PS: I also received a prompt response to my initial email but the chat team had already resolved the problem.

Poor wifi connection, security issue, and very sluggish. 0 stars.

First problem: you make this thing discoverable by unplugging it and plugging it back in. There's a security issue there. I could turn the power off and on to my house real quick and have a minute or so after that to be able to connect to this and have full control over unlocking my door from the outside without having ever connected to it before. There should be a hard reset button the actual device to achieve this result instead of just disconnecting power. Because of this (and it's performance over the last 6 months) I've decided to not keep using this device. The connectivity of this device is off and on and I'm more likely to win a coin toss than to expect the remote unlock/lock functionality to actually work. The app is not good. It lags and sometimes there is 20 seconds between when I touch the screen and when it responds. I've built a few apps over the past decade and I know what it takes to actually design a user interface that is half decent. It should respond within 100ms of touching the screen (even if it's just saying "loading..."). If I were building an app like this for just myself I might cut corners like they did, but since they cut corners on the app (which are relatively cheap to fix) I can't imagine the corners they cut on the actual hardware as well. Devices sits about 30 feet from my main Eero router (I have 2 other routers in my mesh system as well). Very poor connection. My Liftmaster garage door is about 2x the distance from the router and it responds fine every time. Assuming the garage door isn't just magic, I should be able to expect the area inside of the radius of the garage to be "within range" of the router... unless it has a bad antenna. This thing almost never works and then I'll get a random push notification saying my door was unlocked. This is a little disconcerting when I'm working late at 3 AM and the whole house is dark. Plenty of times getting my gun and going to check things out. Glad I live in a small town where nothing happens. You get what you pay for. This thing occasionally works after the headache of setting it up. I wouldn't buy it again though. The actual door lock I use this with (sold separately) is decent though but it's unfortunate I haven't got a good gateway to connect it to wifi.

What is most import to know before purchase...

I bought a fingerprint smart lock from this company and was very happy with it so I bought the gateway. The instructions said to plug the gateway into an adapter that was not included in my package. I have plenty of adapters so that was not a problem. I plugged the unit in and got a message you need a 2.4g network for it to work but mine is a 5g. Still not a problem because I pulled out an old Netgear Nighthawk router that supported 2.4g which now got me past that error. I live upstairs in a duplex and the lock was placed on the outside door. The gateway was placed at the top of the stairwell nearest the lock which is less than 10 ft. There is an inside door that you reach before reaching the outside door so I don't know if that is my problem and preventing the unit from pairing and connecting to my network or I have a faulty unit since I did not get the power adapter. Perhaps this was a faulty preowned unit that sold for new. I am going to send this unit back and request another one and will update this review based on my experience. It is not my intention at this point to give this product an unfavorable review but to warn people of the requirements that I did not know about when I ordered it nor do I remember seeing these requirements in the information I read before purchase. Update 4/5/2024 The vendor did a poor job of explaining the requirements. I solved the last problem of the 10ft to lock requirement by putting the gateway on a portable charger and placing it downstairs in a closet next to wall adjacent the lock. The gateway showed an attempt to connect but would not see the 2.4G Netgear router. I had to enter gateway name and then it appeared and all connected as expected. It will be a pain to remember to charge the battery every 30 days but at least everything is now working. The product works as expected and you should not have any problems if you can place your gateway within 10 feet of the door with no obstruction between both parts. If you do then hopefully some of the things I have mentioned will help you but if not just buy a better lock without the 10 foot restriction. My three star rating is for the problems I had to go through to get things to work. If not for that I would have given five stars.

    Good distance for connection

I use a single device to connect to 6 locks that are in proximity. Pair it to your WiFi and you are set up. You can have more than one of these connect to a single lock. I realized this as two gateways in adjacent floors would connect to the same lock, which is great as a failsafe.

    Works well!

Works well with our smart lock for our front door. My only gripe is the constant blinking blue light that we have to cover up.
