    Smart, Feature Laden Lock

I've actually had this lock for nearly 5 years and love all of its functionality and ease of use. The installation was a breeze, and will accomodate both left or right swing doors. You can gain entry by physical key, floating keypad code, and biometric fingerprint sensor. With the app, you are able to remotely lock and unlock the door, monitor its status, and even control it with Alexa Voice Control by linking it to the skill in the Alexa app. The fingerprint sensor is a little tricky, but I've found over trial and error that you need to leave your finger on the pad area, instead of touching and qiuckly removing. Over the past year or so, I've noticed that the keypad with codes started to fade and became difficult to read. It turns out that the location of the lock, facing a western exposure with the hot afternoon sun, was causing the issue. After speaking with their technical support, Lockly was nice enough to send me a replacement and included a touchscreen cover accessory that acts as a sun visor to limit the effects of the sun. I highly recommend this (P/N PGA714 SN) for those having a location facing directly either west or east. I also encourage you to purchase the Secure Link Wi-Fi Hub (sold separately) in order to secure the advantages of Wi-Fi connectivity. So, if you are looking for a versatile, fingerprint smart lock, look no further. With their excellent customer service and technical support, this is the one! Go ahead, (you know you will like it) and make the purchase. You will not be disappointed.

    Amazing

So, I had a eufy in my previous home and it was good. However, in my new home the door is a different style so I tried out this expensive lockly. The install took no more than 5 min. Quick and simple set up. Fingerprint is great. Feels like a true lock and I like it much more than the eufy. My only complaint is the high price but it has no issues otherwise

Just what I was looking for!

Update: I've changed my rating from 4 stars to 5 stars. We've been using this lock for a year now and it has been great. My fingers are old and worn, so it was having difficulty recognizing my index finger (phone has same problem) so I changed it to my middle finger instead, which is actually more comfortable for me, and it has been working reliably since then. Highly recommended! Original review: I just installed this today, so this is just a pre-review. I wanted to get a lock for the house that my daughter could use easily when she comes home from school, and which didn't require her to carry a key or use a smartphone. I am also a big fan of the fingerprint unlock on my smartphone, so the idea of a fingerprint lock really appealed to me as well. After looking over all of the choices, I decided to take a chance on this Lockley, and so far, I'm very happy with my decision. Installation was pretty straightforward, but I did find that I had to take some pliers and straighten out the long, thin tailpiece that turns the deadbolt. It had a slight bend in it causing the deadbolt to bind, but after I fixed it, the lock turned smoothly. I also needed to adjust my door latch so that the deadbolt was properly lined up with the strike plate when the door was closed - not a fault of the Lockley, but something to watch for when installing this lock. Next, I programmed the lock with unlock codes and registered everyone's fingerprints. Then we went outside to see if we could each get back into the house. My wife and daughter touched the sensor once with their fingers and they were in. Me, not so much. I ended up re-registering my fingerprint from outside with the door shut, and then it seemed to work just fine. So my advice here is to register the fingerprints from outside with the door shut, so that you are touching it the way you will when you actually use it. I will agree with some of the other reviews that the interior portion of the lock feels a bit cheap, and I think it is kind of bulky as well. I had a 2nd gen Kevo before, and the interior unit of the Kevo was slightly smaller and thinner and made of sturdy metal and heavy (IR transparent) plastic - it really exuded quality. Unfortunately, it didn't work all that well. The exterior portion of the Lockley, however, seems very rugged and I'm perfectly happy with it. Although I am quite the technogeek, I don't have a need to use any of the smart features of this lock, and I'm not comfortable with possibly exposing my home security to the internet, so I'm not going to use or evaluate those features. However, I am pleased with the lock so far. I will come back in a few months and give an update as to how it is working for us as a convenient, keyless way for us to access our home.

Where has this been my whole life?

Absolutely the best. I've reviewed and tested other door locks, and this is by far the very best. I opted not to go with the wireless one - which I can simply add later if I choose to do so. You may find this an option, too. The first thing you'll notice is the fit and finish quality. The packaging is likely the best I've ever seen, and they make it so literally anyone can install this - it may take others some more time (due to familiarity, tools use, etc.), but truly I believe anyone can do this. Take your time and watch the videos before installing and you'll be good. Of note, they have a 3D app which you follow with on your phone for installation. This app is absolutely beautiful and extremely helpful! As you're installing the Lockset, you'll appreciate the engineering a lot more, and want to thank those who designed this. There is really no way a failure will keep you locked our of your home. Battery life is shown right on the app! I placed new 9V batteries in our cars in the event the batteries do die. You simply hold the 9V to the lock and it will re-power to let you in. Brilliant. There is also a hidden Key slot, or, you can use the "switching Numbers" keypad. I prefer to simply touch the fingerprint reader though, as my hands are usually holding items. SO simple and SO well thought out. I'm very thankful I did my homework choosing this. I truly can't be more pleased.

    Great Concept, Annoying Alarm

I have two front doors beneath a covered front porch so I purchased two locks. One door leads to an Airbnb and one is for my personal use. Both are used frequently throughout the day. I chose these because I liked the wide variety of options to use (key, fingerprint, Bluetooth, app, etc.) and the clean look. I also liked the idea of additional security with the constantly moving numbers. The cost was on the higher side of the smart locks (doubly so because I needed two), but all the features won out. I have owned and liked both the Schlage and Kwikset smart locks in the past. PROS 1. Very easy to install 2. Set-up with the app is relatively simple and there were plenty of videos to watch in case I had questions. 3. Looks exactly as photographed 4. The app is user friendly and I can keep track of everyone who uses the door easily 5. It’s easy to set-up new users 6. Very sleek design 7. The fingerprint mechanism is exactly as if hoped (you can program multiple fingers too with labels so you can track whose fingerprint and which finger is used) 8. Initial email follow-up immediately after purchase with trouble shooting tips was impressive (this was within a matter of days of the times arriving). 9. Was able to connect with a lower door handle which makes the door more attractive and easier to open for left-handed people and arthritic hands. CONS 1. If the deadbolt mechanism does not fully extend a fast, high-pitched pulsing alarm sounds. I thought this would be a favorite security feature because it would notify myself or Airbnb guests that the door was not fully closed but I was wrong. If the deadbolt is latched but not 100% engaged the alarm sounds. This happens at least 3/4 of the time the door is closed. This even happens when you are aware that it will happen and go to lengths to close the door fully. Explaining this to Airbnb guests is challenging and can be frustrating for them. As for me, it’s just really annoying. I’ve had the door installers come take a look and an electrician (I have brand new custom Pella doors). Everyone was surprised at just how touchy the lock is. They think these locks would be perfect for a front door that was within an apartment building and didn’t have a patio door (the suction and the weather stripping are considered to be the culprits; both things I have no control over). 2. While I find the code entry fairly user-friendly, my guests have not always had such an easy time regardless or age and electronic-experience. The offline entry code requires new users to download the app. This seems to be very confusing for people. Also, the sheer number of options to open the door seems to overwhelm older guests since they are never quite certain which buttons to use (even when instructions and a video are provided). Overall Impression I really like the simplicity of design and all the options available with these locks. The alarm is the only thing that keeps me from buying three more (I have a long-term rental and other lock needs) and may ultimately lead to me replacing these pricey locks with another option.

    Excellent security entry door lock

After buying this entry door lock almost a year ago, I have been very pleased with it. The design is great, it works very well. What I like about this entry door lock, it will lock automatically when closing my door, the setup was simple since I have to set up the door lock through my smartphone device. This will work with Apple iOS or Android devices. But I have to download the app to my smartphone. I also like the design of the screen to enter the security code. The door lock will mix up numbers in order to confuse a person attempting to enter. But I always enter my room using the fingerprint scanner rather then entering the passcode. I can set up the door lock to either unlock the door lock using a passcode or the fingerprint scanner. Overall, I am very happy purchasing this door lock. The installation was simple. However, the device works with 4 AA batteries. But I will be alerted through my notifications when the batteries are running low. I do strongly recommend to give this entry door lock a try. But I would buy this entry door lock on a sale price.

Update: Screen stopped working... | Almost everything you want in a lock

Update 6/5/2021 I attached a picture of the screen. As others have mentioned, the screen eventually stops working from being in direct sunlight. Seems like an huge omission to not test a lock to see if it can stand being in the sunlight. I can no longer recommend this lock since if a code is the only way for say a guest to open the door with then they're shit outta luck if they can't see the numbers... I read a lot of reviews from a bunch of different sources and settled on Lockly's deadbolt smart lock. I had the following criteria: - Not connected to a third-party like Amazon or Google - Ability to create codes that expire - Ability to control with app - Works without battery power - Integration with local z-wave IoT (wink) Disclaimer: this is the first lock of any kind I've installed. Installation: - Manual is pretty well written and easy to follow for the most part. It's not always easy to discern the type of screw being illustrated but process of elimination eventually gets you to the right one. - Recommend drilling the extra hole for the post. The guide they provide is great. - Make sure that the deadbolt is extended during installation. - The plastic part the deadbolt slides into is a nice touch. The inserting the plate ended up being the most work of the whole process since the shape the plate on my original lock was different. And the hole needed to be larger to fit the deadbolt plastic housing. - Had to reach out to customer support because I initially installed the lock without the deadbolt extended so it thought it was locked when unlocked and vice versa. This was after I had already done the self-check. If you need to switch this, then you'll also need to rerun the self-check. The app works well enough so I won't go into much detail. The one thing that I struggled to find was adding fingerprints. It could be because I have a smaller phone and didn't realize it was under access and I had to swipe to the right. The locks not perfect: - The auto lock feature will auto lock regardless of whether the door is closed or not. So if it's set for 5 seconds, if I haven't closed the door by then, the deadbolt comes out and I have to unlock it in order to close the door. Really, the auto lock countdown should only engage once the door is closed. Unsure if this is simply a software update or if the hardware is incapable of sensing whether the door is open or closed without the additional wifi hub and door sensor. - It would've been nice to have a button on the inside of the door to unlock it. Instead I'm stuck with either using my phone which would be somewhat silly when I'm on the inside or manually turning the lock which seems very primitive for a lock as smart as this one. - I have multiple locks and I have to manage each lock separately. I understand that to lock/unlock you only want to target a single lock (though it'd be nice if there was a "lock all" feature), but more often than not, I want the same trusted users and guests to have the same code for all locks. Lockly's deadbolt smart lock met most of my needs. It currently doesn't support z-wave but they may be releasing a version which does later this year according to customer support. If that happens, they also mentioned anyone looking to upgrade could get trade-in value for their model. I'm looking forward to that. My other points are hopefully fixable either through a software update or with the z-wave model that may be released. So far I recommend the lock but I've only had both installed for a couple of days at this point. EDIT: Added another feature I'd like to see.

Great product, have 2, will be buying for all external doors in our home

These locks/doorhandles are great! My husband and I both fingerprint in, no need to takes keys when stepping out to walk the dog, etc. I bought the first one, then added a second and we will be adding 2 more eventually. They are defiantly worth having! Be sure to know your code though or have a place you will remember, our community flooded and our fingers were pruney so the fingerprint reader couldn't read our fingerprints, also you may have to make some adjustments to your door or door frame, small adjustments, we did ourselves without issue.

    Perfect

I replaced a “resort lock” with the Lockly model # PGD628F. I did not need to drill any additional holes in my door. I had determined this prior to purchase by downloading installation manual. Using the installation video and the included installation manual I had no trouble with the installation. It appeared that the product diverged somewhat from both installation instructions, but only to make the installation easier. I did not purchase the optional WiFi component as I did not need it. The Bluetooth connectivity was more than adequate. The iOS app worked flawlessly. My wife and I both love the fingerprint unlock functionality. I would recommend this product.

    Nice

Not perfect. But looks great on the door well made case. Finger print reader is a hit or mis. For my hands, but seems to be ok for my son. Maybe my hands are worn more than his due to work.
