- o.m.2021-12-10Easy Setup If You Have Basic Networking Skills
I was a little worried about the negative reviews regarding internet setup -- those worries were unfounded. The setup is very straightforward with only one minor gotcha. My steps went like this: 1: put batteries in the sensors. 2: plug in the base unit. Wait a few moments and the sensors all automagically pair. 3: put the base unit into AP mode so that it becomes in essence a wifi router (press and hold wifi button on back for 6 seconds -- the display then says "AP"). 4: connect to the device's SSID with a laptop or phone (the SSID will start PWS...). You won't have any outside internet access when connected to the base unit this way, which makes sense because it isn't connected to anything but your laptop/phone. The reason you connect this way is so you give the base unit the info it needs to connect to your home router and a couple other config details. The form is obvious, clean, and simple. 5: once connected to the base unit via wifi, enter the base unit's address in your browser (192.168.1.1). A simple form will show up and you can select your home wifi's SSID and enter the password. You can also enter Wunderground account info, time zone, select a time server, and enter GPS coordinates for the device. 5a. I would suggest having your Wunderground account setup first, otherwise you will have to repeat the process by putting the device in AP mode, connecting to it, etc. The gotcha I noted was that when you go into AP mode, it does not remember the last home wifi SSID you picked, so you have to reselect the correct SSID. If you don't, it will of course fail to connect because it is giving the wrong router your password. When you signup for Wunderground, you will get a page that shows the info you need to fill in on the two fields you get when the base unit is in AP mode. Just copy and paste. Wunderground will also give you your GPS coordinates. 5b. When you choose your time zone, I found that the sunrise/sunset time was wrong when I entered the UTC info for regular time, and correct when I used the DST time (I'm in Pacific zone so correct was UTC -8). 6. Once you've entered all the info to the device and press submit, it drops out of AP mode and tries to connect to your home wifi. If you entered all the correct info, it happens in seconds and it's easy to tell from the front of the display -- if the wifi icon blinks, not connected. Solid, you are connected. If you fail to connect, go through the AP process again and ensure you have selected the correct SSID for your home router. The first time I went through this it probably took me half an hour because I did it piece by piece, including setting up my Wunderground account, while carefully reading the directions. If I was to blank it out and start over, it would take me less than five minutes now. It's a very straightforward process. There is another weather service like Wunderground in the setup screen for which I can't recall the name. I didn't try that one because once I set up the Wunderground info, the device started reporting immediately. It appears to update Wunderground about four times per minute. Anyway, I love it so far. Only had it a day so I can't talk about longevity, but I can say the setup is about as easy and straightforward as can be without having a keyboard and general purpose monitor built directly into the base unit. I think Logia's solution to getting the necessary info stored on the device is a very good one.

Fairly east to set up. Looks good and all read outs are sharp and easy to see. Did have one issue on setting up sunrise and sunset but they have a phone number you can call and talk with a real live person. We called and the problem was solved. Would recommend this weather station.

This product is working very well for me. It takes some thought and work to set up the outside unit and a little time to familiarize yourself with the set up, pairing, and settings menu for the display. But the Instruction book is adequate. Two complaints which are not deal breakers. 1. I could not get weather underground (WU) to recognize my station as "online" after I registered it. This may have been because the Logia 7 in 1 does not appear in their menu when registering. This meant I had to go with Weather Cloud (WC) which is not quite as convenient as WU for remote monitoring on your phone because you have to pull up the website with your phone browser and log in every time rather than having the app with a home-screen icon that WU offers. WC does not offer an APP for your phone. 2. The display offers the ability to toggle between daily, weekly or monthly rainfall totals. This is a very nice feature. I just wish they had something similar in the max/min menu for temperature and wind speed where you could select the max/min for the past 24 hours and perhaps for the month too. Temperatures fluctuate diurnally and that is where the temperature max/min is most interesting to me. As it is the unit just stores the max min value forever until you reset it. For example you might be seeing a max temp of 95F which was from last summer even though it is now winter if you don't reset it. The max/min value is stored until you reset it and you have to reset every parameter individually (i.e. it is not a global reset for all parameters) So if you want max/mins for the past 24 hours for any parameter you have to remember to reset them each day. You can go through the history for the past 24 hours but that does not necessarily give you the max/mins since they are just data points on the hour each hour. A different value can occur at some point between the 1-hour readings (especially for wind speed). Downloading a month of data from WC is easy but it gives it to you in a .csv file which is not very usable. A little research on the web will show you how to convert it to a .xlsx file. WC will store up to 12 months of data for you under the free version of their service with readings for each parameter every hour. Like history on your display this is not necessarily max/min. A picture of my outside unit installation is attached.
- Amazon Customer - JF2022-03-25Accurate, UNTIL "RIGHT AFTER WARRANTY EXPIRED"!!!
Wind-speed spinner no longer measures wind speeds as it's bearing seems to have worn out. The 1 year warranty has only just expired a month ago. This is extremely disappointing and I certainly hope that the seller or manufacturer will reach out to me with a remedy as I feel that, for what I paid for this device, it deserves to last longer that a single year. It is actually pretty well made and with the multi-year batteries that were installed in it, I had hoped that it would at least last as long as the batteries. Will someone reach out to me with options other than telling me to just buy another one? Update 03/30/2022: Logi was contacted via their website and responded via email with the following response: "Thank you for your message! After reviewing the available data, it appears that this item is ineligible for warranty services, as the 1-year coverage period has elapsed. Since it was purchased on Feb 24, 2021. What we advice our customers is to put some WD-40 on the base of the wind cups and trying for it to go down the shaft of it, that usually fixes the issue. If not we sell outdoor sensors on their own. You would have to call us Monday to Thursday 9 AM to 5 PM and an agent can sell you the part through the phone. I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns." I will update this review one more time after having applied the suggested WD-40 remedy. (I remain disappointed that this simple maintenance tip is not included in the manual that I definitely read from cover to cover upon receipt. And I am also disappointed that the warranty period begins to count-down from Date-of-Purchase rather than Date-of-Installation ... significantly disappointed on this point!) I hope this update is useful to anyone who has experienced similar issues with their device and still in possession of it since you may be able to put it back into full service again if this works. I'll let you know. -Cheers! [Edit - April 5, 2022] Received a response from Logia stating that applying some WD-40 to the spinner of the wind-cups sensor shaft, working it down into the shaft, and gently spinning by hand should loosen it up and get it working again. I will not be able to speak to what the accuracy of the sensor will be should this tip get it working again. They also said that if this doesn't work, I can buy sensors at their website. This response, while attempting to be helpful, disregarded the fact that their product failed to function one week after the 1 year mark of being in service and, instead, stated that per the purchase date this device is out of warranty. Any manufacturer that skips honoring a warranty that is that close is likely hiding something and doesn't really care if it loses customers or not and certainly has no regard for its own reputation. -- Now this is merely an opinion formed by my experience and is, granted, a bit judgmental; but, isn't that what a review is supposed to do, comment on the experience of using a product or service? -- Bottom line: This company has room to grow in its product quality, warranty policies, and dedication to its own brand reputation. I will recommend this product with a cautionary warning referring to the above commentary as your decision guide. -Cheers!

I have always wanted a weather station of my own. Not sure why but I just have. This was a holiday gift from my wife and was it a surprise to receive. It is a station that covers just about everything out in the yard. It also covers the inside of the house or whatever place you choose. There is a sensor that you place in the house, garage, shed, green house or wherever you want. It was a breeze to mount but was a little taxing trying to set it up. Not so much with the main screen, but trying to set it up with the online services, which are free, were a nightmare. However, once it was finally set up, it has worked perfectly. I set it up with the two suggested services. Now, to be fair, these services are not part of this company so the set up issues were with the on line service. I have had loads of fun watching the weather being displayed on the screen. Comes with the unit, a remote sensor, power supply, battery for the screen unit but you will need to supply any other sensors. Yep, I am quite happy with this as it is sort of a toy to play with but has honest and true information.

I'm coming from a Tempest weather station, which is the simplest and most feature rich weather station. So, I am a little spoiled. Unfortunately, the Tempest has a haptic rain sensor, which is very inaccurate. This Logia is nice and feature rich, but does come with some drawbacks. It needs wpa encryption. It did not connect to my wifi under wpa2 or wpa3. This is a very old technology that is not so secure in 2023. For the actual weather station, they should have had rechargeable batteries charged by the solar panel. Instead, it appears the unit works from either solar panel power OR the regular batteries, which are not included. The display console also has it's drawbacks. While cool looking with lots of data, the display keeps the same light level all the time. You have to manually change the brightness on the back of the device. It would be nice in 2023 to have auto-dimming displays with proximity sensors like Nest and Ecobee. That said, i like the background static images on the display, and the weather station seems to be working well. Wven though it has no phone app, i have it reporting to weather undergound, so use that to see history or current performance.
- Jason Knighton2022-02-03Easy to read, easy to setup
I've has a weather station uploading to weather underground for years. I like the ability to see what the weather is doing at my house not some other locations. Expand that to my country house that has no close weather location. I ordered this weather station to replace an Acurite (don't by their products) that never worked correctly and recently stopped uploading after weather underground updated their API. While Logia is not a name I recognize the weather station offered all the features I wanted. Setup was very easy and I had no issues pairing the display with the station. Configuration with weather underground was also easy. No need for a app install to configure either like some other brands. I see there is the ability to upgrade firmware if a breaking change does occur. There are only two issues I had. First was that the display's bottom third didn't work out of the box. On the Amazon order page I saw a new option to contact support. The Amazon representative was difficult to understand at times but after asking a few questions called the Logia support. Amazon stayed on the line while Logia support did their questioning. After a few minutes Logia said they would send a replacement. Within a few weeks (logistics are slow due to pandemic) I had a shiny new display. I had no issues to reconfigure. Second issue is that the legs of the display are designed to tilt the display back a few degrees. Fine I most cases but in mine the display sits about eye level to my chair on the other side of the room. This causes the view angle to be off enough where I couldn't easily read the values. 3D printers are awesome. 20 minutes to design stands, a couple hours to print and now my display stands vertically and I can see the values. **note, I could have mounted the display on the wall which would have put the display vertical but what's the fun in that. I've already ordered a second to replace the other brand that no longer updates to weather underground.
- Placeholder2022-01-19Don’t buy! Logia knows this device is not accurate!!!
I’m not a big reviewer on Amazon but I really felt compelled to let folks who may be shopping for a weather station know to pass on this one! I bought this and while installing it realized that the base station doesn’t allow WiFi access or have battery backup like most of the others. OK I can deal with those shortcomings. I after using it for a while I started to notice that the at times wind speed didn’t seem correct. Being by the beach, I initially thought perhaps there was interference with other houses close by so I moved the sensor to another spot that’s certainly out of the way. Same results, occasional low wind speed measurements. I finally called Logia and was given instructions on how to reset the sensor, and told that the unit is still under warranty and if this doesn’t work Logia will send me another one. Perfect. I waited for a nice enough day to get on the roof and follow the procedure he gave me then waited to see if the accuracy was improved. No such luck. Same issue with low wind speeds. When I called Logia back, the new guy I spoke with was very nice but told me he saw where I had called and the guy I spoke with previously was no longer with the company. He further told me that Logia is aware the wind speed sensor is not accurate, and that my warranty has now expired so they can’t help me. He then told me to have a great new year and hung up.. it was frustrating but also pretty comical. How this company is still in business surprises me.. Bottom line, there are many other similar priced weather stations that have WiFi and battery backup, AND provide accurate data!
- William2023-04-30Easy to install, easy to set up.
I replaced a LaCrosse weather station that function by function started failing after about 8 years. I found this one easy to set up, link with both Weather Underground and Weather Cloud. Connecting to Wi-Fi was straight forward. Very typical 1st time connection methodology as other smart devices. Instructions are correct, so just follow them. I ended up using Lithium batteries as I mounted my station high up on a previously used Satellite dish mount. I purchased a 5 ft steel mast and a couple of c clamp mounts (see pics). Mounting was hardest part for me based on my configuration and needing to get station up high. Accuracy is pretty good so far, perhaps 1/2 degrees to warm based on direct sun and using other thermometers I have. You can make offset changes to measurements in the advanced setup page if needed. I have not made any offset changes as I want to see how the unit performs over several weeks first. Overall, nice little weather station at this price. One small nit pick... I wish I could just login to the controller from my network AFTER initial setup. If you need to go back into the console, you have to go through the I trial connection process AND you have to re enter your WiFi network info. Weather Underground and Weather Cloud setting and any offset values one may have entered do not have to be re entered. Based on my 1 week experience, I would recommend.
- Richard S.2024-06-08Things to consider—-
This unit is OKAY but could be better—- The inside and outside numbers are hard to read—-better if the “tenth digits” were half size like the size of the digits in the clock! The “forecast “ window is way low and the clouds moved up to show the rain coming down better. The sun in the forecast window is perfect . The sun rise— sunset time never did come on even with entering lat- long over and over.
