I was afraid it would shatter on delivery but it was packed so tight and well with foam and the works that it was perfect upon arrival. Wired to a Lutron Caseta on off switch by replacing the vanity light with this (hardwired). Few notes: it will not work with a dimmer wall switch (that will cause it to act funky and flicker based on the manual). If you’re going to hardwire, you need to use an on/off switch. Smart switch is fine too. Just needs to be on/off. Second- to hardwire, you need to cut off the plug. The white power cord consists of two wires. One has writing on one side of it and the other does not. I cut the plug and used a voltage tester to validate that the wire with writing on it was indeed the “hot” side. The side without anything printed on it is the neutral side. Because this went in a bathroom, I replaced the circuit breaker with one that has GFCI protection. The leds and heater are controlled by a self contained unit in the mirror / what I assume is it’s all low voltage stuff but still, better safe than sorry. To make this mirror even better, I think it would be nice to have a ground cord too. I bonded the electrical box and (using the volt meter again) made sure that the metal frame behind the glass is not conductive. But still. A screw to the frame (or even better a third wire/three prong plug to cut off would be a design upgrade in my opinion. Overall - this sucker is HEAVY. Once it’s mounted on the French cleat looking brackets, it’s nearly impossible to just slide and center. If I had to do this again, I’d mark the center on the wall and on the mirror and line it up before lowering it into position. If you do what I did and just got the sucker on the wall, I found that two cheap bottle jacks from Walmart ($20), some rubber coasters (to prevent slipping) and a level (harbor freight) were the perfect combination to gently lift the mirror off the cleats a little (just enough to release the pressure) and allowed me to slide it. Without the jacks, this thing would not move at all (mirror is 60x40). Overall - i did a lot of Amazon research before buying this brand and don’t regret it. Great quality, bright enough to light the bathroom (though not as bright as the vanity light it replaced), and very elegant looking. I will likely buy two more smaller versions of the same mirror for the his and her vanity in the master bedroom. Smaller because this thing was literally a pain in the neck (still stiff) to lift and hang with two people - worth it, but heavy so maybe get a few friends and a 6 pack if you’re going with a 60x40 size.

This has to be one of the better mirrors I have ever owned. The light can be adjusted to whatever conditions you need or is more to the point the correct light she needs to put on the makeup she wishes to wear and can see an accurate representation of what it will look like under neon lights, sunlight or incandescent lighting. The installation is nothing, just find a good place to put it and a stud or a good anchor spot and be aware it does have a cord so you will need close to a AC plug unless you are hardwiring it in. The performance is exceptional and the anti-fogging was like a wish come true. Add in the value in comparison to others and this becomes an easy 5 Star rating for me.

This mirror was a great add on to our bathroom. It has a great look and the ability to provide various lighting shades based upon preference. Not to mention the anti fog button that allows you to take a hot shower and not have to wipe away the fog on the mirror. I bought 3 of these and have not regretted it for a moment. Classes up and makes a dramatic statement for your house. Oh….more importantly, extremely easy to install.

We ordered the 24x36” size for a small guest (full) basement bathroom. Initially we thought a smaller mirror would be better but actually turns out a larger mirror makes the room look bigger (it also has only 7.5’ ceilings). I was a bit nervous to order a mirror online given some negative reviews about damaged mirrors and dim light but my electrician recommended this product and so far we are delighted. It arrived whole and well packaged. The seller sent an email upon receiving our order saying if the mirror arrives broken please contact them directly, and also emphasizing leaving the plastic and corner protectors on until after installation. There are three choices of light color (ranging from cool to warm white), you can choose one as we did or have it cycle through all three shades if you like that effect (we didn’t). There is sufficient light to light the whole bathroom (8x5) even though this is in a corner, even with the ceiling fixtures off. I haven't had a chance to try the defog but that’s a nice feature if it works. I just installed so hope it lasts the 30,000 hours claimed. I had it professionally installed as part of a complete bathroom renovation so can’t comment on ease of install.

The cable prevents the mirror from sitting flat on the wall.

I was very weary of ordering mirrors through the mail. Amazon did not disappoint. A work colleague said after 3 fails (mirrors arrived broken) thought another well known home improvement online place, she went with Amazon and it was perfect. So I chose Amazon too – and my mirrors came extremely boxed and padded up – no worries with delivery at all. I had a contractor install my mirrors. An electrician came earlier to wire the area so the mirror would hide any wires. The mirrors are not connected to my switch; I have to manually turn on the mirror. The defrosting mode is just a small face area—not the entire mirror. I am ok with that. The 3 levels of dim are nice, but I always keep it on bright. I have not experienced any huge amounts of fingerprints over the power button – so that does not bother me. I recommend these mirrors.

It was interesting to wire up considering that I didn’t want to run a the plug into the wall. It could be brighter but at its current level in my smaller bathroom. The anti-fog works great and cleans up the image very quickly. The Vanpokins has a larger decor area than most I have seen in this range as well! If one of your family members is sensitive to light or takes pride in their appearance, this mirror is a wonderful gift and investment.

Mirror works great..I can change the light to be cooler or warmer depending on what I’m doing… doesn’t steam up and so many sizes to choose from.

This is the most beautiful mirror I have ever bought. We just remodeled our bathroom, and this mirror took the new room from beautiful to wow! We used the plug-in option, and the back of the mirror is recessed so that the mirror sits flush against the wall. Hard wiring is also an option, but we are happy with the plug.
