I hate ironing & haven't used my iron in years. It's on my shelf, collecting dust. :) But more recently I purchased some shirts & blouses that had a lot of wrinkles and so I bought a steamer earlier this year. My other steamer works very well, but it is heavier than this Sunbeam... and the Sunbeam has a feature that I really wanted and that is the ability to put it down. My other steamer is strictly hand held. There's no base with which to put it down, so it can stand upright while you are still using it. Besides that feature, this steamer is great as well. It is super easy to use. It heats up quickly & really gets the wrinkles out. It's a good price (at the time of this review $24.99). I paid much more for my other one & this works just as well. It's portable enough to take with for travel. I don't like to make my suitcase any heavier than it needs to be, but if I had to have unwrinkled clothes on my trip, I would take this one along. Recommended.

This is such a handy little steamer to have. I have one other handheld stemer, but i prefer this one as it does a good job of containing the water. There is a plastic water well that snaps out, and you can just fill it under the sink. My other one allows the water to come out if overfilled or tipped over. This one has a much better design with the water well contained in the well. It is also small enough to easily take with you when you travel and comes with a little travel bag. I used it on a badly wrinkled shirt, and in about 5 minutes, I was able to get all the wrinkles almost out. You do need to move it kind of slowly, but that's okay because it has a little protective bristle attachment that helps keep the hot metal from touching the fabric. The water well is pretty small, so you will probably need to fill it up per garment you steam, but i think that is the trade off for the compact size. Overall, I'm super happy with it!
- Cindy2024-06-30Easy to Use, Heats Quickly! Great for Travel!!!
Current price $25.15. I travel often for work and my clothes tend to get a bit wrinkled. I try to pack as many non-wrinkling items as possible, but sometimes I need to de-wrinkle my items. I ordered this little steam for that purpose. It's small and lightweight. But, since it is small, the water reservoir is also smaller. I find that I can usually get one item per tank of water. Really works perfect for what I need it for! I really like that it comes with a travel bag. 4 Stars. Hope you find this review and pictures helpful! Super easy to use, and it works! Love the brush that you can use to keep the hot surface from touching your clothes! Heats quickly too!
- DBM2024-06-22WOW! I wish I had one of these so much earlier!!! SOOO CONVENIENT (and effective)
I put some filtered water in the device and then plugged it in. I then pushed the button and the steamer had steam pumping out in a very fast time. The amount is impressive for its size. It is in no way like a steam wand in a dry cleaning store, nor does it release vast amounts of steam like a puffer iron or hot head press, but it is effective for a residential system! The steam is abundant enough to saturate a fabric sufficiently to release the fibers and the front face is hot enough to set the drape of fabric how you want. I used this on some fabric backdrops to release the folds, and it did so very nicely. When I do green screen, the folds can create issue for their removal. Having a smooth and uniform drape of the fabric is vital for ease of keying it out. I also used this on some polo shirts that were not worn for some time and got awkwardly positioned to create folds that were unsightly, Once again, this passed with flying colors! Sunbeam is a reputable company, so I have a little more trust in this than others too. Thus, I do recommend this.

The light flashes as it’s heating up, solid red when it’s ready. Seemed to heat up pretty quick, not sure if it was 30 or 40 seconds. Shipper description has conflicting times. It uses regular tap water. Holding the steam button down, it takes a few seconds before the steam comes out. Hanging garments are fine, it says you can also use it on garments laying flat. If you use it this way there are water marks on your clothing. This is my first time using a steamer. It does get the wrinkles out, however, it left my rayon material with a strange text to the fabric not quite smooth like an iron. I still prefer an iron over this steamer. I’m not sure if all steamers are the same or if it’s just the way this one works. Best use is for travel but larger than you might think for fitting into your suitcase.
- Dojobug2024-07-16Really nice steamer.
It's small, and really powerful. The wrinkles fall right out! So if you're looking for something to take with you on a trip to "un-suitcase" your clothes, this will be exactly what the doctor ordered.

Ordered this for travel and couldn’t be happier with its performance. It takes up about the same space in my luggage as one walking shoe. A simple design of an on/off button produced plenty of steam to remove wrinkles in a cotton dress and a pair of slacks. The water reservoir holds enough to steam multiple garments and was easy to fill and empty after use. Its quality construction is on par for what is expected with its name brand. Great value for travel or keeping in a walk in closet area without taking up much space. Super pleased with this steamer.
- M&A Family2024-06-30Fantastic Steamer
This steamer is a fantastic option for getting wrinkles out of clothes. It packs a lot of power for a handheld unit, which is one of my favorite features. You might have to refill the water reservoir again depending on how much you are steaming, but it is easy to use. Add water to the reservoir, pop it onto the unit, and plug in the steamer. The steam gets quite hot and works quickly to get wrinkles out. This is a great option for an at home steamer but it is still small enough to travel with. Would highly recommend!
- Gaby at Starting Fresh blog2024-07-05Compact steamer - convenient and easy
I like this steamer for it's size and ease of use. It is compact which makes it light but also means it holds less water and steam than the larger units. I don't often need to steam items and usually only need to do one or two at a time, so the compact travel friendly steamer works for me. It heats up quickly and is easy to use.
- Brett2024-06-28Amazing! Works perfectly even on linen
Nothing but good things to say about this one! Worked well on linen and wrinkled clothes taken out of my suitcase. Easy to fill and empty water tank Easy to hold Heats of quickly Definitely gets the wrinkles out of fabric, including linen; which was a pleasant surprise Great for using on a few wrinkled items of clothes. If you’re doing a lot of clothes, you’ll have to refill the water tank as it’s only a travel steamer. I would highly recommend for the traveler or apartment dweller.
