I have a lot of router bits but only a few sizes of edge rounding bits with bearing guides. I do prefer the bits with bearing guides because the setup is so much easier . It seems like whenever I am doing a rounded edge in my woodworking, I settle for a size that I HAVE rather than the size that I would REALLY LIKE. So when I saw this set of six different sizes, I had to have it. These are really good quality bits and my initial tests on maple prove that they are very sharp and make very smooth cuts. I haven't used them long enough to see how they hold up over time but for now I am very happy with their performance. They are carbide bits so as long as I don't abuse them I expect they will hold up well for a good long time. I am very happy to have found these. Now I don't have to settle for a rounded corner that is not "just the size that I want"! To help understand how I rate items: My philosophy is, that for a rating system to be effective, the highest rating and the lowest rating should be reserved for a relatively small percentage of the best and the worst products. If I give a product four stars, it is because I believe it is a very good product. To get five stars from me requires a product to go above and beyond and really impress me beyond my expectations. By the same token, a product has to be VERY, VERY bad to get only one star from me. One thing that I DON'T take into consideration with my ratings is price. I may make a general statement such as “this is a good value” but it will not affect my star rating. The reason is that product prices change, even from day-to-day. Also what one person may consider a good price someone else might not. I feel it is more important to review the quality and features of a product and let the buyer decide whether the current price is worth it to them. Another thing that I don't take into consideration are issues with shipping. This is because the seller does not always have control over that. Following is each of the five categories of *stars* and how I assign them to a product: ***** Five stars - The product exceeded my expectations. I really love it and would actively suggest it to friends and would certainly purchase it again if needed. **** Four stars - The product met my expectations. It does what it claims to do. I like it and would recommend it to someone if they asked about it. I would Most likely purchase it again if needed . *** Three stars - The product is average and for the most part does what it claims. There may be a few things I don't like about it. If I recommended it to someone, I would state my reservations. I may purchase it again if I could not find a better alternative. ** Two stars - The product fell far short of my expectations. It may, in some respects, do what it claims to do but has far too many problems to overlook. I would never recommended it to someone nor would I ever purchase it again. There is a good possibility I would return it. * One star - The product is terrible. It has way too many cons and few if any pros. I would actively warn my friends away from it and would most likely return it if possible.

I'm all for the "buy once, cry once" motto for tool shopping, but sometimes you don't really know what you need until you use it. I have a pretty sizeable collection of 1/2" shank bits for my big routers, but my little handheld trim router only has a handful of pretty basic bits to work with. I own a 1/4" shank roundover bit, but it's just a 1/8" radius. That's nice for most small jobs, but one size does not fit all. This set provides a nice variety of roundover bits ranging from the tiny 1/8" all the way up to a hefty 1/2" radius. They all cut fine. I like to spray mine with a nonstick coating made for bits and blades (there are a lot of them out there; they're all pretty good), it will help keep dust and pitch from building up as quickly, heating up your bit, burning your wood and dulling the carbide cutter. Now, are these as good as premium bits? Heck no. But I find that, for router bits, it's best to buy one of these cheaper assortments and then stepping up to the primo stuff once you know what your workhorse bits are going to be. There are very few reasons to spend the big bucks on a bit you'll use once a year. That being said, the "big" 1/2" radius bit is kind of large for a palm router. You should be okay using it for small jobs with softer woods like pine or poplar, but if you're putting an edge profile on a harder wood like walnut or maple or running through long lengths, consider chucking it up in a larger router. Better yet, try nibbling away at it in 2-3 passes. Your workpiece, your router and your bit will reward you for your patience.

This is a good way to get started with a full set of round over bits. They are not high quality, but for a beginner or someone who does occasional work they have quantity. You have a full choice of sizes. If you wear one out go buy one of higher quality. It's a good way to start out.

I occasionally perform woodworking projects around my house and for some marine applications. Usually I just have to settle for whichever size round-off bit I can find, and adjust the depth to get the size I need. Thankfully, with this kit, I can select the proper size round-off bit for each and every application. I went out to my workshop to try each of these bits. I first tried the largest bit, which I found was too large for the fixed base of my router (so I had to switch from my fixed base to my plunge base). Once my plunge base was set up, I used each of these bits in succession down to the smallest bit. I tried them out on a piece of oak shelf board. Roughly every 6 inches I swapped to a smaller bit. In my review pictures, I wrote a sharpie arrow where I transitioned bits. Each bit cut cleanly, and produced an easy rounded edge. I have no concerns with the quality of these bits, and will be grabbing them on my next woodworking DIY project for sure. It would have been nice if these bits came in a carrying case to keep them all together, but I guess they'll survive floating around loose in the bottom of my router's tool bag.

I really love these router bits. I am using these to round off the edges on my rough sawn lumber to give my projects a more finished look. After running the router table or router using these bits my lumber looks just like the stuff at the big box stores. Nice and professional. I am also running 8 ft long board quite fast through the router table and these bits are doing their job well. They cut very cleanly and fast. Good price and quality
- Mr. Anonymous2024-06-24Very Good for a low-cost entry router bit for Hobbyist use.
#### NICAVKIT BRAND - 6Pcs Roundover Router Bit 1/4 Shank, Radius in 1/8" 3/16" 1/4" 5/16" 3/8" 1/2", Carbide Tip 2 Flutes Rating based on Visual inspection alone: PRO: Inexpensive, especially for a set of 6 router bits PRO: Individually packaged in hard plastic case. Pro: Good quality for Hobby grade Pro: No cutting edge nicks Pro: Cutting edge finely ground but not polished for maximum sharpness. PRO: DOES appear to be carbide blade attached to steel body because blade material is obviously not just ground into the body material due to obvious shape differences in the non-cutting edge. (A GOOD thing!) Con: Nothing obviouse! Bottom line: Very Good for a low-cost entry router bit for Hobbyist use. RATING: 5 stars
- S. Andrews2024-06-15Good sharp budget-friendly bits
Having several extra rounder bits is must for the home wood shop. These 1/4 inch shaft bits fit as they should in the router with the 1/4 inch collet. I tried it in my palm router on a piece of pine. Needless to say, the brand new bit cut like butter in the soft pine. The key point here is that the bearing is properly lined up with the cutting edge. I am very happy with these bits. These are packaged poorly for shipping and the thin plastic wrap was ripped open and one of the bit cases was crushed. I was not happy with this, but these are six sharp bits for about 22 US smackers.
- Jordan Miller2024-06-23Really nice router bit set
I tend to shy away from these sets because router bits in a large set like this are often low quality and don't last, but this set surprised me. The cut quality out of the box was great, but even after several uses these bits still cut very cleanly and leave almost no tear out if you are routing in the proper direction. I would recommend this set.
- T. Simpson2024-07-02Good Quality
These Router bits are made with the quality you would expect from a big box store. They perform as expected. I am happy with this product.
- Steven C.2024-06-15Decent bits that cut well, but no different than other listings. Comes in individual cases.
I like that all six router bits come in individual cases. It makes it easy to store and organize. The bits I tried out cut well, and the bearings turned smooth. Value is pretty decent for six bits, but these aren't different from any of the other random-name-generated brands listed on Amazon. For heavy use on critical pieces, I would look into 1/2" shank bits.
