Had no issues with this holesaw as it worked perfectly.

A 4-¼ inch hole saw is somewhat of a specialized tool. You typically only need one if you’re installing recessed lighting or need to drill very large holes. I’m always looking to maximize value for tools that are used infrequently, and this one comes at a really nice price point with a few extras that are worth noting. Included with the saw are two arbors (standard 3/8-inch and SDS), a replacement drill, a hex key to remove the drill, and a dust boot. The dust boot is a nice addition, particularly when drilling overhead into drywall or other ceiling materials. I used this to drill sets of 4-¼ inch holes in ¼ inch plywood and found the boot contained the dust relatively well, which was a welcome addition. Also, having the option of using either the standard or SDS arbor offers increased flexibility. Just a side note, the center-threaded and surrounding hole pattern that locks the saw onto the arbor is standard with other manufacturers of these tools. This allows for the option of using the dust boot and arbor with other hole saws you may have in your tool set.

Versatile and Efficient Hole Saw Kit I recently used the DaduoRi 4 1/4 Inch Hole Saw for installing recessed lighting, and I'm thoroughly impressed with its performance and versatility. This hole saw kit comes complete with everything needed for precise and clean cuts, including 3/8" hex shank and SDS Plus arbors, as well as 2 metal rings for stability. The HSS bi-metal construction of the 4.25" hole saw ensures durability and longevity, allowing it to cut through wood, metal, plastic, and drywall with ease. I found it particularly effective for creating clean holes without splintering or jagged edges, which is crucial for professional-looking installations. The addition of the dust bowl attachment was a game-changer, significantly reducing dust and debris during drilling. It kept my workspace cleaner and minimized cleanup time after the job was done. Both the hex shank and SDS Plus arbors provided secure attachment to my drill, ensuring stable operation throughout the cutting process. The hole saw maintained sharpness even after multiple uses, demonstrating its high-quality construction. Overall, the DaduoRi 4 1/4 Inch Hole Saw for Recessed Lighting exceeded my expectations in terms of performance, durability, and ease of use. It's a reliable tool for any DIYer or professional looking to achieve precise and efficient hole cutting for various materials.

This hole saw kit is good for the light/occasional user. It comes with a standard drill attachment and an SDS Plus hammer drill attachment. The saw itself looks designed for light duty use. The attractiveness here is that if you're putting in a recessed light that needs a 4" hole, this is everything you need to cut the hole except the drill. The arbors are straightforward and easy to use. Screw the hole saw onto one until it stops. Tighten the rear ring until hand snug. Back off the hole saw until the two guide pins seat in two of the four holes, then screw the guide pins in the rest of the way. Both arbors use this system. It looks like they both use the same stubby drill bits. The drill bits are replaceable with an allen wrench. The dustbowl is flixible plastic. It is protected from the spin of the drill/bit by placing loose washers on either side of it as you assemble the arbor/cover/drill. Importantly, some of the pieces you need may not be in the arbor box you open/use first. The spare drill bit and washers are in the hex arbor box. There were no spare pieces in the SDS Plus box. If you only have a couple of holes to drill, this will get you through it and help make less of a mess.
- Edward Lucas2024-06-22The standout feature of this product is the dust bowls for containing dust and debris.
I ordered this 4-inch hole saw (with dust bowls) for my residential electrical projects. One of the most frequent requests I receive is to install recessed or flush-mount ceiling lights. The typical tool for preparing the hole is a 4-inch hole saw because the old-work ceiling box has an outside diameter of 4 inches. To capture the dust, I typically use a large trash can placed directly under the location of the hole I am drilling. That method will capture most of the dust, but plenty of dust still ends up missing the trash can. If you have ever dealt with sheetrock dust, it goes everywhere. The standout feature of this product is the dust bowl, which does a much better job of containing dust and debris. I performed several tests and consistently captured more than possible with a trash can, which saved me a lot of time cleaning up later. When drilling, using the slowest speed possible helps reduce turbulence. The hole saw itself seems to perform well. Setup is a breeze, and the 3/8-inch hex shank fits my smaller (lighter) drill, which makes drilling a lot easier than wielding a larger (heavier) drill. Overall, I am happy with this product; it performs precisely as advertised. If you are in the market for this kind of tool, I suggest seriously considering this product.
- Michele Paulhus2024-06-30Nice home DIY kit for the price
I really like that this includes everything you need in one kit for a reasonable price. It is all well made and it cut well for me. My only question is - who's using a SDS-plus rotary hammer for this type of hole cutting ? They specify that this isn't for tile, concrete etc - so why use a rotary hammer ? I can't imagine using my big heavy rotary hammer up over my head to put in light fixtures (or at least not for long) heck I wouldn't even use my hammer drill, just a basic simple cordless drill. Its nice that they include the sds-plus arbor, but it doesn't seem to go with the dust bowl approach to me.

The saw and arbor work fine for recessed lighting holes in drywall. The dust bowl works beautifully to contain drywall dust. It actually has a ball bearing unit in the center to eliminate friction Pays for itself very quickly in saved time and hassle when installing 4" recessed lights.
- H.B.2024-06-21Everything You Need For Wood Or Softer Metals
Includes everything! Very complete kit. I recently got some Tungsten Carbide Tipped (TCT) hole saws, which are great for harder metals, but I found that they don't cut smoothly in softer metals, so I ordered this bi-metal hole saw. The kit includes everything: a 3/8" hex shank and an SDS Plus arbor, a dust bowl, a spare pilot drill, and even a couple flat washers (use one between the dust bowl and drill). This hole saw cuts through drywall with ease. Absolutely nothing to it. The threads in my hole saw look like they have been used (see photos), but everything is brand new. I assume they may have actually done some quality testing to ensure the arbors fit the hole saw. If that's the case, then good job! Otherwise, it's no problem because the parts are definitely new and in good condition. No complaints.
- Larson2024-06-26Good for very occasional use
Picked this up because I've been doing a bit of home remodeling and I've had a need for a 4" hole saw a few times. Figured I may as well pick one up, rather than keep borrowing one from my dad. The saw is good enough for occasional use. If you're a tradesman you'll want to spend more and get something better, but if you're a homeowner who needs to put a few lights in the ceiling or cut a hole for a vent, this is perfectly fine. I like how it came with both the standard arbor that will fit a cordless drill and the SDS one that fits a roto hammer.
- Fuller H.2024-06-30Nice kit for installing 4" ceiling boxes
This is a nice kit for installing the ceiling boxes I need for the new lights I'm putting up in the kitchen. The dust collector really helps keep the drywall dust to a minimum (not perfect, but a huge improvement over just drilling the holes unprotected.)
