    What you’ve been missing!!!

I don’t know why I waited so long to get one of these but it is so helpful! Good quality, solid built and accurate. Already didn’t have to guess at least 10 but/bolt sizes.

Takes the guess work out before heading to the DIY store.

Solid construction and easy to read markings. Mount on wall or cabinet. Good range of sizes - standard and metric.

So simple and awesome to have

Nut and Bolt Thread Checker is wonderful for when I need to sort out the items I have left in the shop. Or if I need to match something up. Nice to have it in the shop.

    sturdy & well marked

This thread checker is going to save me a ton of time & frustration when I’m sorting through my container of miscellaneous nuts & bolts. The anodized aluminum looks & feels sturdy. The size engravings are well defined and very easy to read. This thing beats the heck out of those plastic ones you may use in the hardware store! The cardboard packaging itself it a bit flimsy, considering the weight of the thread checker – but, it was inside a shaped bubble wrap. Mine arrived in perfect condition. This thread checker has 2 rather small holes at each top corner that you can use to hang it around a shelf, bar, etc. It also includes 4 small rubber “feet” that screw into the back of each corner so you can just keep on your bench or table; the feet keep it raised up from the table so you can check the sizing of a bolt without having to pick it up. Very cool idea. I got the orange color & felt it was a bit bold, but soon changed my mind; I like it, and, it does stand out from those expensive “red” tools you may have, although there are a few colors to choose from.

    Impressive quality

I get tired of fumbling around trying to figure out what size bolt or nut that I need. Some hardware stores have a similar tool like this near their own bolts but they've often been misused by other customers many times before you get there. Now, I have my own and can check sizes in the comfort of my own garage. This tool is very well made. The backing is a solid piece of aluminum cut to hold all of the appropriate bolts and bolt holes. It should stand the test of time. The sizes I checked were also perfectly accurate. One very minor downside is that it would be nice to have a hole at the center top for hanging. I already have some magnetic hooks on the side of my stand-up toolbox. I'd like to be able to put one of those through and have this on the side of the toolbox. It does have two smaller holes side by side near the top but not a single one in the center. Those holes are also too small to fit the hooks I have. Very satisfied with this product. It fits a need that I have to ensure the right nut and bolt sizes and is extremely well made.

    Well-made and really helpful tool

This is a well-manufactured and sturdy machine nut and bolt sizing tool. Heaven knows it can be a real challenge determining what size nut or bolt you need, and while you can find similar tools in most nut and bolt aisles at the big box hardware stores, having this on hand means that you can go there knowing what you need in advance and not needing to carry loose nuts, bolts, cabinet knob handles, etc. with you. The thread checker is relatively thin and light but made of sturdy aluminum, with both 28 sets of holes and threaded posts to gauge sizes of bolts and nuts (14 pairs of metric sizes and 14 pairs of imperial/inch-based sizes). The threads on the posts seem well-machined as do each of the holes. Nothing seems loose. Text is easy to read The thread checker also comes with four screw-on plastic feet for flat horizontal use and two holes on the top for hanging it vertically. The only caveat I have is that I am not a fan of the orange color of the unit, but this kind of tool is not something you buy for aesthetic reasons anyway.

    Not Too Bad but....

This is a pretty great reference tool for sorting out all those extras you end up accumulating but can't remember what they are for. Accuracy is a real strength here. I AM a bit concerned that some of the parts are awfully loose, though, otherwise this is a beast. In fact, you can also use this to pry open a car door, hammer down raingutter spikes, or go toe-to-toe with a velociraptor if required because it is that thick and sturdy. (OK seriously I am NOT sure about the raptor part--they are mighty fast!)

Beautiful for a tool; thick excellent materials; thoughtful design; all common sizes; super useful

It has a nice vivid color with thick-gauge aluminum that won't bend or warp. All materials are excellent. The overall size and spacing is comfortable. There's ample access without your fingers butting up against neighboring bolts. It has all common sizes from both measurement systems. The machining is very good. No rough threads or unfinished edges. It has a holes to hand on the wall and raised back bumpers for laying on flat surfaces without marring and to provide room for the bolts to pass through the holes and come out the other side. Home Depot has something similar for customers to use in the bolt aisle, but I got sick of going there just to determine what size I needed. It comes in very handy at home--in fact I used it just last night. If I had had one years ago, it would have saved me a lot of time and hassle. And what do-it-yourselfer doesn't have a huge pile at home of unorganized and unlabeled nuts and bolts? You're not going to take that pile to the hardware store to sort out. But with this thread checker, you can do it at home in no time. Imagine how much better you'll feel when you have a place for everything and everything in its place.

    Should have got this sooner

I decided to get this because sometimes I have nuts and bolts that are very similar in size. This is built very well and comes in handy. You can hang it, but I would rather keep it flat in a drawer to protect it. It shows you can measure bolt length by holding to the side. I guess that works ok but if you have a bolt with a large head you are kind of fair away to get any real accurate measurement. You can place the bolt on the face and line up the head to get a better measurement. Usually its not a big deal to be super accurate with length so its not an issue for me about how the outlined marks are on the tool. It is very well made and has crisp markings so it is very easy to read. All of the threads are clean so I will be making sure to clean them any time I have to test a nut or bolt. I don’t want to get the clogged up with debris from a dirty nut or bolt. I highly recommend this as it takes just seconds to find out what size nut or bolt you have. I should have got ones of these sooner.
