Surprisingly well made. Strong magnets and the lamp stays in place, has good lighting and a decent magnifier. The tips on the jaws are molded and not just a piece of shrink wrap.

I can't say enough good things about it. It has a large, metal base, you have plenty of room to work, and it's sturdy enough that it won't tip over. This thing is awesome because each “arm” and tool is magnetic and can be placed at will. The possibilities are endless. The alligator clips have rubber sleeves to protect the items caught in them and work great. The light is very nice and comes in three colors, cool white, warm white (my favorite), and warm, which is great for the eyes at the end of the day. The light intensity is variable over a wide range and provides all the light you need. The magnifying glass is of good quality and I find it provides enough magnification to see even small details. The lens is a great size with a lot of area to magnify, which is perfect for my close-up work such as repairing circuit boards, reading, and drawing. I would recommend this product to anyone who needs a helping hand when soldering or doing other craft work.

This is a beautifully designed product. All four gooseneck helpers attach to the base using magnets and can be moved around so you can position the tools optimally for the task you need to accomplish. I really like the lighted magnifying glass, which is brightly lit via USB power, and you can adjust the brightness or color of the light to suit the ambient light in your room. It can be adjusted to many different positions because its arms are flexible, something other “helping hands” lack. This soldering magnifier set makes the job of soldering solder heads on small circuit boards much easier. I like it a lot.
