    Huge time and hand saver!

I have a small handyman business so I often have to repair or replace copper 1/2” plumbing lines or fixtures. I have always used sandpaper to clean the pipe before sweating and it is always my least favorite part. This nice little brush cleaner has made the job much easier and cheaper. I am glad I don’t have to twist my wrist and hand with sandpaper anymore and it speeds the job up by probably 5-10x faster than manual cleaning. This part easily fits on my impact drill or my 1/2” drill and I can have it ready to clean as I go. The body is made of metal so it seems it will last a long time vs a plastic one. Excellent tool for a job that usually is not fun but changes all of that.

Works well but won’t lock into 1/4” hex retainers

There is no indentation on the hex shank so it won’t lock into tools with a quick release chuck. The listing says the easy open feature allows for quick replacement of the brush strip but I haven’t seen replacements for sale. The listed price for the tool has dropped since I got mine which makes it more appealing to interested buyers. The bristles appear to be stainless steel and they did a good job cleaning slightly rusted threads on a steel pipe. For sweating copper pipe a different brush is still required to prep the internal surface that the pipe fits into. A good tool overall that should hold up under regular professional use.

Does a Nice Job of Cleaning Copper Tube

Yeah, you can use one of those manual pipe cleaners and twist around and around the pipe, or you can you use this with a cordless drill and get it done in one tenth the time, and look cool doing it.

No more hand brushing and sanpaper

This is a really nice tool - I had been using a hand held wire brush and sandpaper for this task after the flimsy plastic versions of this tool broke. This is a solid tool - really grips the pipe and thoroughly cleans it. It grips so firmly (at least when new) that you really need to hold the pipe to keep it from spinning. I initially thought it was a negative that the shank was not a 1/4" quick connect; however, I found that having it in my drill actually frees up my impact so I don't need to swap the tools as often.

This pipe cleaner makes plumbing projects so much easier

I am thrilled about this pipe cleaner. It is fantastic to use, because being drill-driven, it saves my wrists when cleaning my copper pipes prior to soldering. Also, it makes it easier to get into tight spaces. The design is reall sturdy, and it seems to hold up really well so far. I am so glad that I got this, and I will be getting another one for 3/4" pipes.

    Great to have on hand

For the price, this is nicely made and finished. I was using the little plastic ones before I adapted with a DIYer shank. The one thing that would prevent me from ordering more of these is that I cannot chuck it up in a 1/4" driver and must use a drill with a chuck. The shank is sized the way it is because it is all aluminum and probably a casting instead of from billet so making it 1/4", the aluminum would not be able to handle too much torque. I'd like it much better if it had a 1/4" drive made of steel affixed to an aluminum housing but understandably it would push the cost up; however, it would also make it more for professional use.

Handy tool to quickly and easily clean your copper pipes with your drill

Handy tool to quickly and easily clean your copper pipes with your drill. It only takes seconds to throughly clean pipe ends to prepare them for solder. Also allows you to get on pipes against the wall where hand cleaners are hard to turn.
