This water tester has so many functions, it's both accurate and very easy to use (an included instruction manual helps with operation and explanation of what and how you are measuring). If you want to find out more about your water, this will surely help and make it very easy to find out whether your water is right for you or your plants. Indispensable device if you are serious about the water you consume or you are a professional planter taking care of your plants. Highly recommend.
- Dave Maverick2024-06-29Good Meter - Reasonably Consistent TDS Readings
The purpose of this meter for me personally is almost exclusively the TDS functionality. The smaller green meter in the photos is a cheapy (<$10) that I've had for years and have always questioned the accuracy of (though, to its credit it does provide consistent readings). So naturally - you never trust a sensor until you test it and at least make sure things seem reasonable, and fortunately they did as seen in the photos. In fact both meters performed reasonably. The new meter seems to produce significantly higher readings than the cheap-o meter, while having approximately the same variability. The only outlier was Test #1 on Sample C, which I am simply chalking up as an anomaly. Any sensor will occasionally do that. I did also conduct similar tests for EC and ORP, and the readings were SO consistent that as to be uninteresting (+/- 0.1%), so I didn't bother with the whole photo editing with annotations and what not. I have not yet calibrated or tested pH nor Hydrogen. I'm sure the pH is accurate, and I'm skeptical of any consumer grade sensor claiming to accurately measure molecular hydrogen.
- Lon2024-07-06Performs well but needs better instructions and on-screen mode indicator to show selected mode.
I ordered this water quality tester to confirm the water quality at my house, which I believe has been good according to the annual reports from our water agency. After opening the box, reading the instructions, and exploring the test modes, I found myself confused. My biggest problem was trying to figure out what testing mode was selected on the device. The instructions say to "Press the MODE/CAL button, adjust the tester to ORP mode." No matter how many times I cycled through all the modes, there was never any indication on the screen of an ORP mode. So, I skipped to the next instruction for TDP mode that said to, "Press the MODE/CAL button, adjust the tester to TDP mode." Again, there is nothing on any screen that shows TDP mode. The same thing with the EC mode. There is no EC mode showing on the screen at all. The only modes that show labels on the screen are the H2 mode and the pH mode. I figured out after some trial and error that you can figure out which mode you are in by looking at the symbol on the screen that shows the units of measure. For example, EC is measured in µS/cm, so the screen that shows µS/cm is the EC test mode. ORP is measured in mV, so the screen that shows mV is the ORP test mode. And finally, TDP is measured in ppm, so the screen that shows ppm (but not H2) is the TDP mode. To make it easier to use I created a cheat sheet (see photo of white page) that shows a list of the indicators that appear on the screen, then shows the corresponding test mode (e.g. TDP, EC, ORP) and a description of what those letters stand for and what is being measured in each mode. That was only half the battle. Now that I knew what each mode was for, next I had to figure out what sort of numbers were normal for safe drinking water. I spent several hours researching and compiling another cheat sheet (see photo of yellow page) that shows the expected readings for safe water from what I found. I am not an expert, so this is just my own opinion based on my research. I should mention that I could not find any consistent information on H2 readings, so I listed it as uncertain. One last instruction that was not obvious to at least one reviewer who was trying to test water samples with the watertight plastic cover still in place, you need to remove the cap from the tip of the probe before dipping it into water to perform tests. To be fair, the cap is snug, so you need to twist and pull firmly to remove it. The instructions caution users not to touch any of the delicate probes or sensors that are exposed once the cap is removed. I hope this detailed information will help make it easier for others to use this tool to perform water tests, and easier to interpret the results from those tests. Overall, this tool seems to work very well, but the lack of adequate instructions and the absence of mode labels on the device's screen prevent me from giving a 5-star rating.
- Creativere2024-07-12Nice readout and 6 in 1 test
Great sized and bright readout, shows water temp, hydrogen level, PH, TDS (Total Dissolved Solids so you know organic and inorganic solids in your water), ORP (Oxidation Reduction Potential, goes hand in hand with your ph so you know the sanitize level of your water), and EC (electrical conductivity, for concentration of ions or dissolved substances to indicate purity). As you can see this water meter does a lot in a convenient very portable pen unit. The cost of these units is very nominal so I keep several around in my RV so I can have a good check of water quality traveling around. Nice quality, fast shipping
- Mike H.2024-07-15Great hydrogen tester for hydrogen water bottles.
Great hydrogen tester for hydrogen water bottles. I hope to be able to utilize this multi functional testing instrument in other areas it's designed for but for right now I simply wanted to be able to verify the claimed hydrogen levels contained in water after producing in a hydrogen water bottle. And this device does so flawlessly, with readouts that tell me just what the hydrogen content really is. Great product.
- TheGeckoGuy2024-07-16A great multifunction testing meter
This thing is pretty neat. The good: -It's a nice sturdy build. It feels substantial and more durable than some others I have used. -The illuminated screen makes it easy to read. -The wide range of functions makes this useful for several things. In these pictures, I was testing a few things on the water coming out of my RO filter. (Then compared to the tap water). It would also be handy for pools to test PH, ORP (for chlorine) and TDS for salt cell generators in one fell swoop. The Bad: -Haven't come across any yet. I will update you if I do.
- Marks2024-07-01Easy to use. Fast, accurate readings.
This tester works great and I was able to get the TDS and ph for my tap water and reverse osmosis filter water. I got this so that I can monitor my revers osmosis water filter. It is very easy to use and after submerging the sensor prongs into the water sample, the readings showed up pretty quickly. Only concern is that it uses button batteries. It is big enough for AA or AAA batteries but uses button batteries. Also comes with buffer powder if you want to check the calibration of your sensor.
- Trent2024-06-26A solid pH tester for drinking water
We’ve been monitoring our pH and water now for a few weeks and it’s something that we want to continue doing but we were never sure if the pH was at the correct level so now we test it first. I had a little trouble, figuring it out the first couple days but now that I’ve been using it for a week it makes sense and ultimately we just want to know the pH not necessarily the temperature of the water. There are some other features that include a light, or only to tell us pH
- Dan Stan2024-07-11Accurate meter
This meter works great with testing the ph and ppm of liquids. It is much easier to use this than trying to use a the liquid test solutions. Fast to clean and use again and has a cap for when it’s done being used to protect the prongs.
- Javier2024-06-26great device to test water
great water tester even gives you the temperature of the water, it is very easy to use through its LCD screen you can see your results accurately, I honestly recommend it, I am sure it will be very useful to you too
