These are really neat. It’s fun opening the package because it’s similar to getting a new phone. That’s how nice the box is that it comes in. The only downside for me is that the tips are standard tips that most ear buds use. I’ve never found any that stay snug in my ears. So unfortunately, these don’t work for me, so minus a star. I tried all four sizes, and none are a good fit.
- Sharon2024-07-10They need an extra large set of plugs
This earplug comes with 4 sets (XS, S, M, L) of interchangeable plugs. However one of my ears is extremely big and I found that noise was leaking through. I needed an XL set of plugs for that one ear. Other than that it seems to do the job well and functions well.
- Astrobrain2024-07-12Very Well-Designed Ear Plugs That Mostly Accomplish Their Stated Purpose
The Loop Engage 2 Earplugs are extremely well designed earplugs that come with the promise of blocking most background noise and letting speech through effortlessly. They mostly accomplish this. First, while wearing these earplugs I could absolutely still hear and understand everyday speech. Everything came through nearly clear. I wouldn't recommend these for people with any sort of hearing difficulty because they may render speech completely inaudible, but they worked fine for me in this capacity, and I have normal hearing. I hope. Second, they promise to cut out background noise up to 16dB. I have nothing reliable to measure how strong sounds are, so I'm just going to have to play this part by ear (heh). They definitely reduce background noises, but they don't eliminate them, and for certain noises they don't come close. Examples to follow: My neighbor is currently mowing his yard. I put these in and I can no longer hear the sound of his mower. With the earplugs in, I can hear the sounds of my keyboard taptaptapping as I write this review. My home air conditioner system is running. This sound has been completely eliminated. I have a window unit air conditioner to work in tandem with the home system. It's still coming in loud and clear. I'm still listening to music and it's slightly muffled. As far as their design -- I've said it before in this review, and I'll say it again because it merits repeating. These are some excellently designed earplugs. I'm wearing the clear model. People don't know I'm wearing them. I have to show them to people. They fit in the case wonderfully, and if they don't fit your ear, no worries, there's a replaceable tip that most likely WILL fit included. I will say as a precaution, if you're having any ringing in your ears, be careful or consult your doctor before using this item. You don't want to add any undue pressure to your eardrum. So I like these earplugs. I don't think they're PERFECT. But they're pretty good at removing irritating noises from your life, so high marks from me.
- Ropik2024-07-11Very good earplugs
I like these earplugs a lot. It helps dampen noise, but I can still clearly hear what’s going on around me. It’s easy to put in, and take out, by grabbing the loops. It filters out 16 db of noise. It comes with 4 sizes of silicone ends, that are easy to take off and swap, while trying them on to see which fits best. The company also has a video on their website, explaining how to do this, and also how to clean the ends when you need to. It comes with a nifty little carrying case for them too. I recommend these earplugs.
- Caroline2024-07-14Gets the job done, but a star off for wasteful and frustrating packaging.
As far as ear plugs go, these are fine. They're not 100% noise-blocking, but they do dull noise to an appreciable extent. There's nothing really outstanding about them either way--they get the job done. My complaint is with the packaging (see photo). The plugs (along with the carrying kit and extra caps) come in a small square box (not pictured), set in a piece of cardboard (pictured) and crammed in with another piece of cardboard (presumably to keep the package from rattling) and a multi-page book of instructions. This makes of a very tight fit and you really have to yank to pull out the actual product. But since the plugs, etc., aren't actually nestled into the board, but rather "set" in it (see the little tab which is meant to "hold" the spare plug), nothing is held securely. This wouldn't be a problem except for, as I said, you really need to tug hard at the package to get the product out. Half the pieces ended up on the floor. This isn't the end of the world, and I get that the designers wanted to make their packaging distinctive, but it is both wasteful and inefficient and ended up causing more trouble than any of it was worth. After a packaging redesign, I'll be more enthusiastic in my recommendation.
- OhKFish2024-07-14only slight decrease in noise
I'll start off by saying that these earplugs are the most comfortable pair I've ever worn. They fit in my ears well, feel secure, and stay in place. I also like the pretty rose pink color and the shape/style is trendy and cool. That being said, I found the amount of sound dampening to be negligible. I mostly use earplugs when I'm trying to work at home and my kids are around. Wearing these for this purpose was basically pointless. Even with the kids in the next room, I could still hear all their noise and every word they said. Admittedly, the idea that these decrease noise by 16db means next to nothing to me. I have no reference to know what that sounds like. I can see from the ratings on other types that this is a small amount of sound reduction, but I expect that any earplugs worth having should muffle the sounds of kids in the next room better than these did. I think these would work really well if you were in a library or office where the volume level is already low and you want silence while still being able to hear if someone speaks to you. However, these are rather pricey compared to some of the others out there (I've gotten 2 pairs of another brand for half of this price) and I'm not sure that's justified by their limited usefulness.
- LLI2024-07-10Best fitting earplugs
I love LOOP! They are so comfortable - and customizable with different size ear tips - so you get exactly the size you need. Loop also looks cool - more like jewelry than an earplug. They sit so nice in the ear and feel secure yet easy to adjust and remove. You can even sleep in them as well as they sit so flat. The color is really nice. Great design and cute little carry case. The Engage 2 helps to take the edge off crowded or noisy spaces while not blocking so much that you feel utterly disconnected. Perfect to reduce the volume and create comfort.
- jempow2024-07-11do help reduce noise
I found these earplugs to helpfully reduce noise without drowning out conversation. They are easy to fit, comfortable to wear and are not overly obvious. I found that I could speak at a normal volume while wearing them and have a conversation with someone close by without their voice being muffled. I was able to filter out some of the background noise that usually distracts me and focus on my conversations while in a louder environment. I am hopeful that these will continue to be helpful to me.
- JACOB2024-07-08Great for people in loud environments
If you work for concerts or at the Daytona 500 then these things are an absolute. Very comfortable in the ears. They come with different sizes of buds for different ear shapes. I don't know how they do it but the outside sound is greatly reduced without sacrificing sound quality. 10/10 would recommend these.
- Khoa2024-07-14Definitely reduce sound and like the clear look
These reduce sound significantly, and I love the clear look. They come with various sizes of buds to fit your ears. I didn't need to switch out the already installed medium size. I can't wait to try these at concerts. So far, I've tested them while working on the computer and can mostly hear myself and my breathing.
