- K-Pinski2024-05-07Amazing self focusing digital hand held microscope
I got this digital microscope for my son and as soon as it came in, I wanted to try it out and ever since I've been loving it! What's great about it is that it's a 1080p digital handheld microscope. It has a safety line that you can put your hand in so it doesn't fall, a cap for the microscope so it doesn't get dirty/dust inside, it has several LED lights right next to the camera part so when you're looking at something you can really dim or increase the brightness of what you're looking at to see it more clearly. It comes with a 32 GB micro SD card which can be upgraded I'm not sure to what size but I'm pretty sure it can be upgraded, the microscope itself can take pictures at various resolutions that you can adjust in the settings and you can adjust the picture resolution too, you can also adjust the resolution of the microscope itself from 1080p to 720p. It gives you an option to change the hz of the resolution, 50 Hz or 60 Hz that affects how quickly the screen is refreshed in a minute obviously the 60 Hz is a little bit better than the 50 Hz. It comes with its own USB to USB-C charger, plus a few samples of things you can find in the world like a mosquito, it's squished in between two pieces of glass and it's high quality because it is just like you would find in a real scientific lab. This digital microscope maybe for my son but I found so many things myself, that I found interesting already with it, this can be something really great for someone that's really interested in the smaller things of this world. It's rechargeable and can be lots of fun especially if this is their first time using such a device. Overall for the price this is a really great item, really great giftable item as well from Grandparents to grandchildren or even something you get for your own son/daughter that's curious about science. I feel this will not only open their minds but provide a lot of playing time with this device and future questions they may have. With this anyone can explore the micro world and even take pictures of their adventures for the future or to show others what they discovered. I really wish something like this was around when I was younger. Unfortunately it wasn't but it's around now for everyone to enjoy and to learn from and not only just at school. This is hands down a great learning tool for everyone not just children and for the price compared to a real scientific microscope, it's an absolute steal for such a handheld digital microscope with all its extras. I highly recommend it!!!
- Cerulean Sage2024-04-20Not Perfect, but Still Amazing!
I've become a bit of an expert on microscopes for kids and had very modest expectations for this one, but I was absolutely blown away! The photos I'm attaching are taken using this device at its LOWEST magnification setting (a seed with fungus on it, ants in our ant farm, and a closeup of our couch fabric). The screen is critical to have this microscope be a wonderful window into another world for kids. Unlike the current competitor Minilabsters microscope, this allows even a young child to look easily without mastering monocular vision AND it makes it easy to have multiple people look at something together (so older siblings or parents can help younger ones make sense of what they see). The focus works great but is mostly not needed since most kids will just use it at the exact distance maintained by the bottom of the device. In addition, this design even fares well in comparison to other microscopes with built-in screens, because the screen size is just right to be able to see but still have the device be able to stand up and have it be fairly robust for play on the go. Finally, a strength of this microscope is that it comes with all the needed accessories: USB-C charging cable, some cool pre-prepped slides, storage bag, and micro SD card. There are some downsides. First, the interface is atrocious and requires reading the manual and an adult hand (e.g., long presses and short presses will do different functions). But, mostly, it's not necessary for the kid to mess around with those functions and settings, so it's okay. Second, the SD card is really difficult to insert. The instructions aren't clear, and the device will "accept" the card the wrong way (it will just get stuck and won't work). The SD card needs to be inserted with the metal ribbons facing the screen's direction. It might take multiple tries to get it to stay in there (I found inserting slowly helps). Retrieving the card takes a bit of poking with something like a paper clip before it pops out. Not a great experience! However, I found that the strengths of this device really outweigh these few downsides and would still definitely recommend it for any parent considering a toy microscope or an alternative to the Lovevery microscope. I've experimented with over a dozen microscopes for kids and in terms of it's suitability for kids, this one is hands-down my favorite so far!
- Wolfman Dan2024-05-28Fun for everyone!
This thing is surprisingly fun, and fairly simple to use. I got ti for my son and daughter to play with, and while they love it I have been enjoying it just as much as they do. it's pretty fascinating to see the world of our local insects and other creepy crawlies up close and personal, and examining rocks and other things has been neat too. Operation was fairly simple the included micro sd card is a nice bonus, and the microscope hooked up to my computer easily.
- GOF Eddie2024-06-30Granddaughter loves it!
My 9 year old grand kid is curious and really enjoys looking at the prepared slides as well as bugs, plants, or anything that strikes her fancy. She brought it into school and impressed her teacher. Maybe a scientist in the making!
- Sean2024-05-29Upgrade over the display-less digital microscopes
Upfront, the downside is that this is a bit clunky and possibly fragile. With that said, the fact that it has its own display and is very easy to use is a huge improvement over digital microscopes without displays for different applications. Namely, there are situations where you do not want to have to finagle plugging your microscope in and saving photos separately, you just want to inspect something with high magnification. I am an adult, but I think this still makes for a good gift and handy tool.
- Dean & Ashley2024-07-07not as good as optical
Compared to my optical microscope, this digital one is easy to set up and use. However, the image is not as clear as the optical one. The magnification looks digital to me, and there is just too much noise in the image. I would recommend an optical microscope if you prefer a clearer image.
- Alex Juel2024-05-20Works great, very portable, has lights, and comes with an SD card
This is a very fun portable microscope. The images are even higher quality than I thought they would be. It's also really cool that they include a box of slides to get started. You get an SD card too, which is awesome so you can start saving images immediately. And the lights are nice and bright. It's super easy to turn on and use which is great for kids (and me). It's really surprising what various things look like under the microscope. I've had a lot of fun with this. I'm surprised at how far this zooms in and how high the quality is.
- Signus2024-04-26A few issues, but it does work... sort of.
Firstly, I couldn't get this toy microscope to display 1080p at all. 720p was the best it does. The listing and manual state otherwise. I was really hoping it did, because it's otherwise a nice starter scope for a young person eager to see things up close out in the field. I did try another app, but the app didn't like the scope. The other issue I have is with the microSD card. The slot pinches the card making it difficult to insert and release. It may work better for you. I can't say for sure. That's not the only problem I ran into. The card showed full when first inserted, so I formatted it and took two snapshots. After plugging the microscope into the computer and discovering it only outputs 720p, I decided to look at the two pics on the sd card. Both were large, but low resolution- 720p on a large canvas. I made sure to have 1080p selected in the scope settings. The windows app only has 720p selectable for this scope. I use a lot of cameras on this app, some are 4k. They ALL have their max resolution selectable. This one topped at 720p. It is, what it is. Then, when I unplugged it from the computer and restarted it, I tried taking a pic but it said full AGAIN. I took the sd card out and reinstalled the card. It worked after that. Too many buggy issues and not as listed for me to personally recommend this. It kinda works, but it just isn't worth the asking price imho. There are other such microscopes on Amazon selling at similar price points with at least 1080p pic recording that work without the issues I experienced.
- IS2024-05-07Small screen is adequate
I found this Imichi microscope to be a neat gadget. So far we mainly use it as a live viewer. The small screen size is surprisingly adequate for this. You can capture photos and videos with this as well. There are no independent zoom and focus adjustments. There is only a zoom ring, but at certain points, the image comes into focus. I think that's perfectly fine. It keeps things simple for the kiddos. This microscope actually focuses at 2 positions/magnifications. Once you get a focused image, if you continue zooming in, the image will come into focus again at a higher magnification. At this magnification, the width of the screen will capture about 1.5mm. The screen is adequately bright. In direct sunlight, it's almost impossible to see, but if you shade the screen, the image is easily viewable. I uploaded a couple of pics that demonstrate the last 2 points. Overall, happy with this microscope.
- Carlos2024-05-11Magnifying glass
This is more magnifying glass than microscope. It really only has one zoom level and a focus adjustment. The 50-1000x magnification is done digitally which gets gets nosier the more you zoom in. Its a good toy for kids and will probably keep them entertained for a little while,
