Set up is pretty easy for one person. It is easy to use and retracts and extends smoothly. It is very comparable to other retractable gates I’ve ordered and feels pretty sturdy (I don’t think I would place this at the top of steps and 100% rely on it for that purpose) but other than that it seems decent.

The instructions are clear and easy to follow. The material is durable and good quality. Just make sure the size is okay for you because it is much taller than usual gates! The “mesh-like” gate is strong to block my little dog jumping and leaning against it too.

I have two dogs that like to hang outside with us if I get busy and can’t really watch them, we put it across the garage door and it keeps them safe and out of the street

It took my little 18 month old friend less than 30 minutes to defeat this thing. He watched my cat go under it, I turned around to get his diaper bag, & heard “HI!”, then turned to see this smart little guy grinning on the other side of the “gate”. He was quite proud of himself. Might work for much younger kids or not so bright dogs. Honestly I can’t even imagine a dog being dumb enough to not figure this out. And don’t even get me started on the weird instructions. Good thing I’m good at figuring it out for myself. Planning to return this useless contraption.

Our family has always struggled with babies climbing upstairs. This gate is wonderful because it easily blocks any access to the staircase. It is very easy to use and very baby proof.

One of my friends just got a puppy, and needed a gate separator from her living room to kitchen. Came across this product and ordered it. There are two options of either mounting on the wall or taping it on the wall. A good height for pets to keep out of trouble.
